boy i sure do love a character who is playing a Character. a character who you have to basically forcefully cut open to get a glimpse of who they actually are. bonus points if they themselves have no fucking clue because theyve been pretending for so long theyve forgotten who they are when theyre not

gwen’s tragedy doesn’t get talked about enough bc of course we’re all busy screaming over merlin and arthur but like… this woman literally lost everything. her dad executed, her brother killed, lancelot dead twice, losing morgana in a way that’s almost worse than death, and then finally the love of her life dying before they’ve really had a chance at a proper future. she’s crowned queen only to end up a widow in her 20s. everyone she ever loved is ripped away from her and she’s left alone to rule a kingdom hollowed out by grief, with a crown that feels more like a memorial to everyone she’s lost. her life is just…relentless loss
