Venus (Probably) Had Herpes

I had every intention of making a list of all the inane reasons why I've had outbreaks recently. Midway through I realized the list was always coming back to two words.

Too. Much.

Too much bread. Getting fingered too hard. Too much booze. Too many late nights with too few recovery naps. Too much time on the couch. Too much friction with not enough lube.

It's so easy that it's hard. Why am I surprised about an outbreak and yet automatically know where it came from. Yes, the causes seem inane, but they're not. Bread comes with a good meal. Fingers, friction, and late nights come with sex (most of the time). Couch time comes with movies, books, and cuddles.

Moderation is a myth and balance is aspirational. Ideally you only have to balance your life once and you're set. But no. Nope. It's changing, always changing. I am always fine-tuning and figuring what is too much for today.
