The Marauders walked side by side, talking about tomorrow's quidditch game. The classic game of Gryffindor x Slytherin. A few people were surely going to get hurt, as the players usually get competitive when it's about winning the Quidditch Cup, and Remus can't help but hope that [y/n] doesn't get hurt.

Just the thought of her feeling any type of pain, made him sick in the stomach.

"Moony?!" James' voice awoke him from his thoughts about [y/n]. "What's got your thoughts so loud, mate? I've been calling for your name for like, five minutes." The question was also interesting to Sirius and Peter as they both stared in silence at the conversation, waiting for the hoped answer.

"Nothing important." Remus shrugged his shoulders and looked at the books he held. "I was just thinking about the muggle book I've been reading." He answered, but his friends didn't seem happy with the answer, and Remus knew exactly what to do so they could change the subject. "It's a very interesting story about a friend group that–" Remus started but was interrupted.

"Alrighty, mate, we don't want to know what the book's about," James said and stared at the corridor they walked in.

"Yeah, keep your loud thoughts to yourself, Remy." Sirius finished the conversation and before they could even start another one, an excited and known voice came from behind them.

"Hello, my pretty boys!" They turned around and looked at her.

Each of them gave their own "hello"s to [y/n], but the one that got Remus's attention was Sirius. He said something among the words "hey there, pretty girl" and even hugged her. A bad feeling made Lupin's stomach turn while a dark shadow came up above his heart, making it clutch around itself with hurt.

Jealousy is not an appealing emotion to Remus.

Until now, this weird feeling has only given him doubts, insecurities, sleepless nights, loss of appetite… But there's also a lot more that he can't keep track of, the happy moments with his friends that were ruined when Sirius got too close to her, classes that he couldn't remember anything from because the only thing he paid attention to was them exchanging notes.

Remus feels happiness and [y/n] slipping through his fingers when he sees them together.

But he can't hold onto her.

How could he? How could he hold onto something he doesn't have?

They kept walking, Remus was staring at the floor the entire time while they talked, and the only one who noticed the change in his mood and demeanor was Padfoot.

Moony looked over at her after a few seconds, with a little hope that she would be looking back at him and they would exchange glances, making her blush by getting caught staring, but what he saw was heartbreaking. Sirius was bent over to her, whispering something in [y/n]'s ear, and whatever he said to her, made her giggle. She laughed at him with the most stunning smile Remus has ever seen. And it was all for Sirius.

Not Remus.

But Sirius.

Moony's heart cracked a little bit and then he took his eyes away from them. But he would never know that Sirius whispered to [y/n] that Remus was jealous and their plan was working, he would never know that she smiled and giggled because of the mere thought of him being jealous of her and their eyes would never find one another because he turned away too soon. She looked at him, but all that was found was a low-spirited Remus, someone who was losing the hope that someday she would return his feelings.

Remus just didn't know [y/n] already did.

The loud music echoed through the entire quidditch pitch as both of the teams entered. Remus's eyes looked for [y/n] in the middle of the Slytherin players and he was getting worried that he wasn't finding her up there.

When she's not playing, [y/n] would always talk to him and Peter so they could meet up in the stands and cheer up together, and when she didn't say anything about being in the stands, he thought that she would be playing. But he couldn't find her.

A little soft pat on his left shoulder made him turn around and look at who had just poked him. Remus's eyes met [y/n]'s and he felt like melting under her gaze.

"Hey, sorry I'm kinda late, I almost couldn't pass through the Gryffindors, they didn't want to let a rival come in their stands." She said and rolled her eyes remembering how they had treated her with disgust just a few minutes ago. "They were so disrespectful, and all because I'm a Slytherin and my house is playing against their house. They couldn't be more childish… That's because I don't like Gryffindors." [y/n] whispered the last phrase but Remus heard and looked at her with an offended expression. "Well, I have my exception." She said with a flirty smile and winked at him.

Exception. Moony thought that it was a funny choice of words.

The game started and [y/n] looked the other way to watch the players trying to murder each other. But all that Remus could think about was the way she had just talked to him, [y/n] is not someone to be generally flirty. When Sirius flirts with her, she always says something back but jokingly, she's never serious about the flirtations with Sirius (it still makes Remus jealous though).

So why was she so serious while flirting with Remus?

Wait, did she actually flirt with him? It just didn't ring right to him.

Lupin stood stiff beside her, with his eyes staring forward but not focusing on anything specific, his thoughts were too loud and frenetic to pay attention to the game. People cheered from all the sides of the pitch, but he didn't know why. Hell, he didn't care, he only cared about one thing…

"Is it serious?" The question slipped through his lips just like [y/n] knew exactly what he was talking about, but the confused expression she gave made him ask again. "Is it serious? This think you have with Padfoot?"

[y/n] felt like laughing at his question, but held it in when she noticed his determined, curious, and hurt eyes staring at her. "What do you mean? What are you talking about?" She asked and Remus exhaled realizing that he would need to explain.

"You two flirt all the time and are always touching each other…" He said with a glimmer of disgust in his voice.

[y/n] felt like flying when she realized what was going on. "Are you jealous?" Her smile broke free when he blushed at the question.

Moony tried to say no and affirm to her that she could go out with any guy that she wanted and that she deserved to be happy with whoever made her happy. But before he could, [y/n] came closer and put both her hands on his face.

His thoughts froze.

His body froze.

"You look really hot when you're jealous." Her voice was soft and it sounded a billion times better when her lips were that close to his.

The kiss was breathtaking. They felt like flying.

People screamed and cheered and jumped around them, maybe Gryffindor had made one more point, maybe a player from the Slytherin team had fallen from their broom, maybe James got the snitch.

It didn't matter, their mouths fitted too well together for them to know what was happening.

[y/n] and Remus couldn't care less.

"You know…" She whispered against his lips when they separated and smiled. "My plan worked."

"Wait, what plan?" One of his hands came up from her waist to brush her hair behind her ear while his mind worked on trying to understand what plan she was talking about. And then he understood. "You had a plan to make me jealous?" Remus asked with genuine curiosity.

"Maybe…" [y/n] bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling too much and his thumb pulled her lip. "Sirius was right, it worked.

"Please, don't hide your smile from me. And it didn't work, I wasn't jealous." All that [y/n] had to do was raise one of her eyebrows as a sign that she didn't believe in him that he admitted. "Alright, I was a little jealous."

She beautifully laughed at him. Remus felt like he could die happy in her arms at this moment.

He wasn't just a little jealous, but he would never say that out loud.

Your eyes trailed around Sirius' gorgeous being.

Many people would look at his dark clothes, long hair, to-be-shaved beard and harsh expression, and imagine a tough man. Not that he isn't tough but, most of the time he's just a... cuttie (as you'd call it).

And seeing him playing with little Harry is just the purest sigh your brain has ever registered - until now.

It's like the world around them doesn't matter as long as Sirius keep putting blocks above one another and Harry slaps his baby hand, making it all fall as they laugh.

For a second you felt your mind drifting to the image of Sirius holding your still unborn daughter and showing your friends how she would giggle with one of the stupid things he did.

Remus, Peter and Marlene would totally blow him off by showing how the 'cool' uncles and aunt would make your daughter laugh harder, while Lily would probably be too mesmerized with her god-daughter features and James would feel really proud of his best friend for having a happy family of his own.

The little smile on your face from the pure sight and thoughts was fastly replaced by a face of disgust as you smelled the scent of Marlene's classic 'Toad in the Hole'. In less than a second, your stomach started doing flips and you felt your mouth watering.

You got up the fastest you could with a 6-months pregnant belly from Lily and James' couch and Sirius (as he had felt the smell too) ran behind you to the bathroom, leaving a confused Harry behind.

As you threw up your breakfast and Sirius held your hair while caressing your back, Lily, Marlene, James, Peter and Remus stood in front of the open door looking at the bathroom with scared and confused expressions. It took around 23 seconds for Lily to remember the talk you two had had earlier about the foods that started to make you sick.

The redheaded's face was hit with realisation as she thought about your voice saying "Especially Toad in the Hole, just the smell makes me sick..." and it didn't take a blink for her to grab the dish from Marlene's hands and throw it in the trash can outside.

"Hey-!" The blond's protests were cut short with you and Sirius walking out of the bathroom.

"I take you didn't know about the sickness..." You said with a sour voice and looked straight at Marlene while Sirius had his arm around your waist.

She raised her arms in defence. "I had no idea!" Her voice was high pitched from confusion and you all laughed.

A/N: i tried to make this really sad, not sure if it worked but it's still kinda hard for me to describe sad scenes and feelings lol

Bad things happen when you aren't expecting them. Bad things stab you in the back. Bad things try to take you down.

And bad things can make it worst.

You were never one to believe in that kind of comments, you always thought that the people who said it was just passing through a sad time and they needed help.

But you never thought you could be the one to need help and agree with this kind of concepts…

You had always been the person to support others through their hard times like you did every day after the full moon with Remus, every time Sirius would get into a conflict with his family, every time James would show only to you how he was actually sad that the girl he loved wasn't interested in him…

And that's the exact reason why Sirius had no idea how to comfort you properly as you broke down just after walking inside your home.

Seeing you kneeled on the floor, with both your hands above the belly that once had a little baby growing in there, just made Sirius weak in the knees and realising that yes, it was happening to you.

His right foot closed the door behind him and Padfoot looked at you with tears welling in his eyes.

Your desperate hands tried to get under the layers of clothing you were wearing on a cold day and your eyes shut with tears streaming non-stopping down your face. With your trembling hands finally in touch with the bare skin of the slightly swollen bump, you didn't even care about the low temperature of your fingertips, all you tried was to feel your child.

As you started to realise that your son or daughter (they didn't live long enough for you to find out, even if you felt it was a girl) had actually died, broken and hopeless sobs ripped from the back of your throat.

Sirius fell on his weak knees beside you and held you to his chest while it moved frantically up and down because of his deep sobs and thick breaths.

Yours and Sirius' hands were resting on your now-empty uterus as you cried for Regulus, the betrayal of Peter, the death of Marlene, Dorcas, Lily and James, your god-son being taken away from you, the war and your miscarriage.

Your chests hurt with the pain of so many losses. And, you felt helpless, sadness hopeless, hurt.

But you weren't alone. Sirius was right there, right beside you, to go through all the bad things.

Your eyes opened with the sudden feeling of your hair moving and looked up, seeing your cat playing with a few strands of your hair, which brought a smile to your face for half a second. That was until you felt that pain in your lower back and the feeling of your uterus being stabbed multiple times, over and over again.

A groan got out of your mouth almost as an involuntary reaction to the reminder of your period and as your cat looked at you with its head bent to the side with the sudden noise. Looking around your dorm, you found everyone asleep and relief filled your senses as you recognised it's Saturday.

'Thank Godric.' You thought as you tried to get up without making a sound of pain.

Checking the time, you noticed it was around time for breakfast in the Great Hall and you decided to go there to try to find any of the Marauders - because even being early, they never skip breakfast.

And you needed Sirius now.

That was the only thing you were certain of.

He is the only person who knows how to help you during these days of each month. He is the only person who doesn't laugh when you cry over nothing. He is the only person who knows the way he should massage your back so the hurt can relief. He is the only person who knows which songs calm you down and make you feel comfortable. He is the only person who knows how to hold you when your uterus is hurting like hell.

Sirius is the one. Period.

You knew it, he knew it too, but it was too soon to share or even think too much about. You were still in Hogwarts and you had so much time to still be together. It kind of felt like an unspoken agreement that you two would be together forever, and each 'I love you' just made it even more real.

But future wasn’t something in your head while you felt like fucking dying.

After changing into some comfortable clothes, you walked to the Great Hall with your favourite muggle fiction novel in hand. The halls were calm, probably even more peaceful than the last Christmas holidays you spent at Hogwarts. It felt weird not having to back out from people so you wouldn't get knocked down or end up getting a black eye.

Walking through the giant doors of the Great Hall, the first thing you noticed was how crowded it was and the thought that breakfast had just started crossed through your mind, but you didn't think much of it as your eyes found a pair of grey ones that shone with the mere sight of you.

All your worries washed away for a second when you noticed that Sirius knew you were on your period by just the look on your face. And he got up from the bench, without even saying goodbye to his three best-friends, already walking your way.

You met him halfway through the crowds of people trying to find a seat in between the benches of different houses and it didn't take a second for Sirius to hold you in between his loving and comforting arms. His strong arms were around your waist, holding you close to his chest while your arms were around his neck with your face buried in his neck.

"Good morning, my love." He whispered in your ear as his hands started to slightly press their palms and fingertips onto your lower back, massaging it. A sigh left from your lips when the tension started to drift away and you felt his lips in your hairline, giving it a soft peck.

"Ugh, I need you." Your painful whimper made Sirius' heart clench with the sight of your hurt.

"It's alright, angel, let's go to my dorm." Padfoot spoke softly and separated from you enough so he could see your face. "Just grab something for you to eat and we'll be alone. The boys will be outside all day..." You nodded, being only able to agree as you wanted to get away from there as soon as possible. You grabbed a muffin and held Sirius hand as you walked out of the Great Hall, already pulling him to your final destination, where you would finally be able to just try to relax.

The first thing you did as you walked through the door of the Marauders' dorm was to throw yourself at Sirius' bed. You felt horrible and all you needed was some sleep and cuddles. Sirius closed the door and took your and his shoes off, dropping it beside the door.

"How's your reading been going?" He asked with a soft voice to not bother you if you had a headache and pointed to the book you were holding as he sat beside your limping body.

"Well, it's good..." You trailed off as you sat up to let Sirius sit behind you and he did just what you wanted, but instead of you laying down with your back against his chest, you laid down with your back up between his legs and with your head resting in his abs.

"Only good? I remember you telling me yesterday that there was a super plot twist in the story but you fell asleep before telling me what was it..." Sirius trailed off while one of his hands massaged your lower back and the other one caressed your scalp.

"I didn't tell you?!" Your voice was a little louder and a smile grew on Sirius' face when he noticed how you were getting excited just talking about your favourite books, just like you always did.

And the rest of the day was like that. The peaceful environment of you holding Sirius and Sirius holding you while you rambled excitedly about your books while Sirius only listened, looking at you with a love-struck expression.

Sirius loved you so much, he just wished he could take all the pain you felt once a month away from you…

But as he couldn't do that, Sirius would spend the rest of his life holding you and taking care of you on the most unfortunate days of the month.

To say that the Marauders were the best best-friends you could have was kinda questionable.

Yes, they were the perfect company at the good moments and the bad ones. Yes, they were always there if you needed them. And yes, they loved you to death. But were they perfect? No, they weren't.

Because every single time a boy would look at you differently, they would become the scariest they could just to scare the poor boy away. At first, you tried to talk them out of it, saying that you could make your own decisions and deal with the consequences of them, but they just said that any boy was decent enough to be with you.

Did you believe them? No. But did you keep insisting that they should let you take care of it by yourself and be the stubborn girl you grew up to be? No, again.

It was a bad thing that, while they all were seeing girls, you couldn't even talk to a boy that they would be on the way. You felt like your big and overprotective brothers were your best friends, that was weird and annoying, but they had good intentions with it, they didn't want to see you hurt and you were ok with it.

Well, you were just fine with having 4 overprotective brothers, until, in your sixth-year, you had been crushing over a Ravenclaw boy for months already, he was always so kind to you and he was so handsome that, when he asked you out on a date in Hogsmeade, you accepted. But the problem was that the boys were arguing with you, they didn't want you to go on the date with him - which was the worst thing they could've done, because all of them had dates to go on the weekend and were ok with the idea of letting you all alone while they were having fun with girls, but you couldn't go on a date and have fun with another boy.

To say that until now you didn't go on dates before was a lie, you've managed - with the help of the girls - to go on more than just a couple of dates without your friends knowing, but you wanted for them to know about this one because you didn't just want to go on a date with him or snog a little at an empty part of Hogwarts, you were liking him and wanted for him to be your boyfriend. But did this serious talk work? Of course not.

You were just so pissed with them, that was the worst fight you ever had with anyone and they were feeling so bad with themselves, that they didn't even go to their dates, because they were constantly trying to find you around Hogsmeade. You haven't talked to them for days and they were looking for you to apologize about what they did, but when they did find you, they wished they had gone on the dates…

You didn't tell them where you and that filthy boy (in Sirius' words) were going, so they looked for you in all the stores they could find, there was just one place missing when it was almost time to come back to the castle, The Three Broomsticks. Remus wanted to slap himself by not thinking of the most obvious place for dates in the first place and ran with the other boys to the place that you had to be.

They were so focused on looking at the inside of the crowded establishment that they completely missed the couple kissing at one of the benches just the outside. Just when they were looking around that Peter looked outside, noticing a girl with the same outfit you were wearing earlier and the same [y/h/c] hair that you've had in different haircuts along the years the Marauders have known you.

Wormtail narrowed his eyes at the couple kissing and widened his eyes in the realisation that, yes, that girl was you.

"G-Guys..." Peter said while repeatedly hitting Sirius' arm, getting the attention of all of them. "I think I just found Lil' [y/n/n]..." He said carefully and pointed at the kissing couple just outside through the window with his head and his eyes glued on them.

Remus' eyebrows almost touched his hairline in surprise, Sirius' jaw was almost on the floor, Peter was still staring like there was some kind of a monster in front of him and James felt his blood boil with anger and jealousy.

No, no, he's not jealous. He's just angry that his best friend is kissing someone else- someone! Not someone else, just… someone.

Before they thought of going outside and ruining everything, the four Marauders watched the couple stop the kissing and look at each other with huge smiles on both faces. All of them focused on how your eyes were shining with happiness and your cheeks lightly painted in pink from the cold weather, the loving kiss and the blush from when the boy put a strand of your hair out of your face and behind your ear.

They all felt so guilty that they were selfish enough to take away so many moments like this because they were there, being 4 overprotective brothers to an independent woman, who could take care of herself just fine.

James' stomach fell to his feet with the sight of your stunning smile being caused by someone else and not him, but he didn't feel the need to cry - even with his heart clenching - because you looked happy and that was what mattered to James. Did he want for you to be happy with him? Oh, how he wished for you to be happy because of him, but he didn't need to be the reason. He needed you to be happy and it didn't matter with who.

But did it stop him from being bloody jealous all the times you appeared with your new Ravenclaw boyfriend during the next month? No, it didn't.

If someone, at any moment, said the name of your boyfriend, James would shut up and stay mad for the rest of the day. Everyone noticed how he was so not happy about you dating someone else, but what could they do? Stop you from being happy? No, they wouldn’t do it with either of you.

Sirius even asked for Lily's help, so they could go on a date and see if he would forget about you just for a couple of hours, but it didn't work. Nothing seemed to work with James, maybe their efforts weren't good enough, or maybe James didn't want for them to work, maybe he wanted to be suffering about you, maybe he wasn't ready to let go of his feelings just yet.

But the day you appeared in the common room, with a serious expression and looking at the floor, the Marauders could tell that something was wrong just with the way your feet were hitting the floor without making any noise - you usually walk around hitting your feet on the floor with the melody of the song you had in your head at the moment - and the way your shoulders were down.

"Lil' [y/n/n], is everything ok?" Remus was the first to ask and you just softly nodded, sitting at the couch between James and Sirius.

"Hey, love, you don't look ok," Sirius said and turned around to sit facing you and laid a friendly and warm hand on your tight. "did something happen?"

You gulped loudly while the boys were sitting in silence, just waiting for you to be ready and tell them what happened for a woman, always filled with happiness like you, be in this depressing way.

"I-It's just..." You started but stopped to sigh and Sirius squished your tight, silently telling you to calm down and you gave him a small smile as a thank you. "Elijah" your ex-boyfriend "forgot to meet me again at the library, I waited for him for 2 hours and when I noticed he was not coming, I decided to confront him about it, but I had to look for him first." You started and James looked at Sirius with wide eyes that gulped nervously, already knowing how this was going to end. "One of his friends said the password to the Ravenclaw common room for me and I went to his dorm… I think you know what Ava was doing there." You finished with a sigh.

Sirius and Peter looked scaredly at each other because they thought you would start to cry and not even after all those times they've seen you cry before, they would never get used to it. It scared the hell out of them to see you, the strongest person they've ever seen, let yourself be so vulnerable in front of them. While Remus was staring at you and trying to get the slightest hint of what you were feeling out of your expression, and James was seeing red.

How dare Elijah cheat on a girl so worthy of happiness and love like you? You've given everything of yourself since the first day of your relationship, but he'd never done anything beside snogging and lying to you. All James wanted to do now was to punch Elijah until he couldn't feel his lips or nose anymore and had both of his eyes completely black. James' hands clenched in anger, his eyebrows furrowed and his face got all slightly painted in red, just like his vision.

None of the boys noticed how angry he'd gotten, just you, with your gaze on your lap, that saw by your peripheral vision how his hands clenched. You looked up at his angriness-filled-face and, when his eyes met yours, James felt like all the anger had been ripped off of him and all he cared about was you. His hands grabbed yours in comfort and held them in his lap, and James looked at you, waiting for the moment you would break and hold you the way you needed and deserved.

But it didn't happen.

All the boys were looking at you, waiting for the moment the first of multiple tears would fall, but it never happened.

"[y/n/n]?" Peter started, looking at you with a confused and concerned face. "Why are you not crying?" The same second the question fell off his lips, Remus’ hand slapped his arm by the stupid and inappropriate question.

"I don't know..." Your voice was so low that the boys looked back at you to make sure you said something and that it wasn't just a trick from the ambient sounds (like the fire at the fireplace and the distant footsteps from the dorms). "I'm not hurt enough to cry, I think. Or I just don't feel like it..." You shrugged. "I don't know."

"Well, then… When can we murder him?" Sirius asked with a serious expression and low voice, making Remus try to contain a laugh but failing and everyone following soon after.

James' took a moment to admire you, he felt like the time had stopped when you threw your head back in laughter and his heart skipped a beat with the beautiful way you looked when happy. This made James want to make you happy all the time, to make you laugh at every chance he gets…

"OK, but now seriously, when should we?" Sirius asked again after a heavy sigh.

"Never, Sirius, I don't think he deserves another punishment..." You said with a funny air filling your words and the boys looked at you confused. "What? Are you going to tell me that losing this hell of a woman is not enough suffering?" You joked while pointing at yourself.

"No, I can agree with you on that point..." Sirius said chuckling at the way that they didn't need to do much to make you happy and giggly again.

"Same here!" Moony raised his arm and a hugeous smile broke in your face when all of them raised their arms with Remus.

"Thank you, boys… I don't know what I'd do without you." You said looking at their eyes, one by one, with James being the last one and shivers ran up and down his spine uncountable times in just the mere second your eyes connected.

"Always." James simply said and held your hands tighter in his big ones, holding eye contact for a little bit too long… Remus, Sirius and Peter looked at each other with the same expressions and they didn't need to share a word to feel the tension thick in the air.

All it took for you and James to look away from each other with burning cheeks was Peter's sniff.

It's been exactly 4 days.

4 days since you broke up with Elijah.

And 4 days since James has been exhaling happiness from every single part of his body.

It's been so much time that anyone had seen James this happy that it was even weird to see his face lightening up whenever your name was mentioned in a conversation or when you walked inside the great hall and he felt some relief when the only person he saw beside you was one of the girls or Sirius - as you two shared most of the classes.

To say that anyone hadn't noticed was a lie because every single person in Hogwarts could tell that the break-up was a true miracle for James. His happiness was the only thing anyone could see looking at him.

But, oh, as Sirius and Remus looked at the boy sitting at the other side of the table, they felt like it has been months since they saw James with the same expression he had right now…

James had his eyebrows furrowed, his lips in a frowned pout, his eyes were fixed on something - someone, actually - and his fingers were white with the pressure he was holding the polished silver cutlery in his hands (Sirius was afraid that blood would start dripping from his palm with the strong grasp).

Moony and Padfoot looked at each other with confused faces and as an instinct, their heads moved to where James was hardly staring at. Sirius' eyes widened when he saw you talking to Elijah.

Looking back at the boy in front of them, who was almost having smoke coming out of his ears, Remus and Sirius fastly realized everything. Why James had always been the most overprotective over you, why James always hated the most the idea of you dating someone, why James didn't want to participate in any pranks during the weeks you were dating Elijah, why James' smile dropped every time he saw that you weren't alone, why James had been so happy those 4 days after the break-up…

James was in love with you.

You sighed loudly while sitting in the space beside Prongs and looked over at the boys. The different expressions in each of their faces with the dead silent made you confused and your eyebrows frowned while you tried to capture their eyesight but all you got were Remus and Sirius staring at James, who was finding his food really interesting to play with.

"Why were you talking to him?" Prongs muttered just when you opened your mouth to ask what was happening and you had to take a second to understand what he had said. "He cheated on you, [y/n]." He said a little louder this time and dropped the fork he was holding at the plate, turning his torso around so he could look at you. "He didn't deserve to change glances with you anymore, why were you talking to him?"

"I was returning him the flowers he left at my dorm this morning, trying to apologize..." You answered slowly and spoke each of the words cautiously. "I was telling him how he shouldn't try to talk to me anymore because I won't give him another chance." You finished and your arms in front of you.

James gulped loudly in shame and looked down at his food again, taking one bite of the chicken. You narrowed your eyes with the realisation and scoffed with a smirk growing up in your face.

"Why were you like that?" You asked playfully and uncrossed your arms so you could put your right elbow on the table and rested your face on your hand, looking at James at your left.

"Like what?" He grumbled back, trying to ignore Sirius and Remus on the other side of the table looking at the two of them.

"I don't know..." You pretended to think with your index finger slightly hitting repeatedly your cheek. "It looked like you were… jealous." You finished and smirked at James, who had now both of his cheeks in a shade of pink.

"OK… A-And what if I was?" He said back while trying to not trip over the words.

"Then you'd have to take me on a date before..." You got up, only smirking more with the vision of James being even more flustered - if it was possible - and bent down just enough so your breaths were fanning against his ear. "Meet me tomorrow, after class, at the Black Lake. Don't forget the food." You whispered with your angelic voice and James gulped loudly.

"I-It's a d-d-date, then?" James asked when you got away from him and you just winked, turning around and walking out of the Great Hall.

Oh, you would surely be the death of him…
