People do not “deserve” to guilt trip you. There is no valid reason or excuse for doing so, and you’re allowed to be upset by someone trying to manipulate you. If you tell someone that something they’re doing is bothering you, and they respond by trying to manipulate you, that is not okay. If you try to come up with a way for them to stop by communicating with them, and they’re unwilling to respond or change in any way except to try and make you pity them or feel bad for speaking up, you deserve either a serious change in behavior, or someone better who is willing to work with you and respect you. Do not allow people to make you feel bad for having emotions.
