The past month was one of the worst of my life. Â A lot of changes took place, many things I wish I could change back, but I am hopeful that the light at the end of this tunnel will somehow justify the heartache. Â So, as I stare down my last weeks of graduate school, I'm trying to stay focused on the positive and look forward to the abundant potential the next step in life has to offer.
The major announcement is that I will be relocating back to the California Bay Area after graduation.  I had gone back and forth for the longest time, unsure if I wanted to return home or if I wanted to continue to brave the NYC lifestyle.  It wasn't an easy decision, but I'm ready to be back home (recent events really emphasized that to me).  Who knows, maybe one day the allure of the Big Apple will draw me back, but for now my place is in the much warmer California sun.  I'll be moving into a 4 bedroom house- which I get to occupy by myself! I'm really excited about it.  Plus, the house is paid off so I'm only paying for maintenance, which means it'll be way cheaper than any apartment I could find and will save me the stress of finding an apartment while away and saving up for the security deposit and months of rent.  I'm looking forward to having my own space while still being among the familiarities of home.Â
With a location all set up, now the hard part comes in: the job search. Â I've barely started my currently half-hearted effort to find something. Â I know I need to put in a lot more time and effort if I hope to have something by the time I move back, but it's a challenge while still working two jobs, interning and finishing up school. Â I'm also nervous that I don't have enough clinical internships under my belt to qualify for some of the positions as I'm hoping to work towards my license. Â I just hope I can line something up before I leave NYC- I really don't want to be jobless come graduation :(
