but honestly, I love love LOVE this scene, cause it really shows how Mike's relationship with Rachel doesn't and WON'T work, not in the long run

cause I'm really stuck on the fact that he called her idea disgusting

I can't even imagine being with someone, let alone marrying someone, whose ideas may disgust me. nonono, bye-bye, we are NOT gonna work

you know what I mean? he's not just angry or pissed or even disappointed, it's DISGUST

this scene just shows that she still, after all this time, doesn't understand how Mike works and what his priorities are

I don't blame her at all, don't get me wrong, you need to be as crazy as Mike and Harvey are about each other to understand all the batshit insane things they are ready to do for one another

but still, relationship where you're not a priority AND you don't understand why your partner's priorities are what they are?

All the parallels set up between Harvey and Mike (Harvey being a former failure Jessica turned into a success, “I’m looking for another me,” “Bringing in a client this young, you remind me of Harvey” ) combined with Harvey’s established narcissistic tendencies make it clear to me that he’s territorial over Mike’s genius much like he is territorial over his own. He was being honest when hiring— he desires another version of himself.

I think that in his current inability to care about and connect with other people, Harvey creates an “exception” for Mike, caring about him, looking out for him, and respecting him at the highest level he is able to — as a literal extension of himself.

Like in episode two when Harvey takes responsibility for Mike’s failure to file the patent on time, citing it as his job and his responsibility? So, so, so early into the series (I’m literally starting episode three right now) they’ve already begun to regard their failures as combined. Job responsibility or not, Harvey’s failure to appreciate other people leads him to consider Mike as himself — or, as his, — as a roundabout justification for appreciating and respecting him fully.
