"Lucy" would probably be Negan's most hated Skillet song. Or the most hated song in general.
I have so many ideas for Regan fics but unfortunately I also have a job so i can't even finish the one I've been writing for almost two months now
Even if these Negan and Maggie clips from the bar are from a what-if episode, it's still weird if the writers will pair them up in this AU. It's not only about what he did to Glenn. Negan's like... 25-30 years older than Maggie, he should be an uncle/older brother figure AT BEST. Maybe a friend too, but definitely not a romantic partner.
I refuse to come in terms with the fact that Rick had such a badass prosthetic made for him in CRM only to LEAVE IT there because of symbolism and shit. Like, okay, drama queen, you've made your point, now GO BACK AND RETRIEVE IT PLEASE. It looks too good to waste it!!!

MORE fics where Rick subconsciously views Negan as replacement for Shane and Negan gets mad about it, MORE
As much as I believe in the idea of Rick being the literal product of the post-apocalyptic world, adapting to the nightmarish rules of the changed environment and shit, I also LOVE imagining that despite the overall "innocence" that radiates from him in those pre-apocalyptic scenes, there was always something deeply messed up about him. I can almost see him being one of those quiet and obedient kids who just happen to lash out "from time to time." And don't get me started on that obvious fragilness of his. And the fact that he's canonically kinda socially inept? This man was a sweetheart back in the day, but for some reason I feel like even then he wasn't totally "fine" and had some shit that needed to be worked on.
I'm kind of disappointed Rick and Dwight didn't get to become the duo they became in the comics. Imagine all the petty talks they could've had about Negan.
Looking back at the last three seasons of twd, I do wish they made Rick haunt the narrative more. I get that he wasn't really dead, and his disappearance did affect his loved ones, but I still feel like the writers could've made his "ghost" even more present. Survivors mentioning his name once or twice just doesn't cut it for me anymore. He should've been their Jackie Taylor.
Every song is Regan if you really put your mind to it

I love how whenever we see Negan reflect on his actions, there're quite literally no in-betweens. He either insists on not taking any responsibility for his doings ("It's not me, it's the world"; "I was just protecting my people"; "You people don't know shit anyway" – those types of excuses) or just straight up drowns in self-blame and misery ("I'm a monster"; "I'm incapable of love"; "I let everyone down and I deserve what I got")
It's really interesting how bipolar he is every time it comes to the way he views himself, but it also makes writing him a hell lot harder for me
I don't know if it's gonna reach the right audience but I feel like jealous Negan would have Lestat de Lioncourt level of crash outs
Before I say what I say I have to highlight that I an NOT pointing fingers at ANY particular works in this post and I am NOT trying to be disrespectful towards any ao3 authors. Everyone has the right to have fun and write what they wanna write.
That being said, I hate it SO MUCH when people who write slash fics make one of the characters act stereotypically "feminine," and by "stereotypically feminine" I mean things like these:
• The character is suddenly weak as FUCK. He can't do shit in his own. He can't fight the other lead (even if he's canonically stronger), he is indecisive and he cries ALL THE TIME (even if in canon the character is actually kinda emotionally repressed)
• The character doesn't have any other character traits except for his sexual attraction towards the other lead (this is less about him being written as a stereotypical woman and more about the author creating a "y/n" without actually having to create a "y/n")
• He has to get raped at least once. And when it happens to him, it HAS to be some bullshit like "I couldn't stop him and I actually kinda liked it" (Don't get me wrong here. I'm not trying to say that topic like rape shouldn't be depicted in fanfiction. It's just that I personally believe that if you want to write about something as serious as rape, you better try to write about it realistically, without adding all that misogynistic stuff about victims secretly "liking" it)
• The character is treated like a woman that is surrounded by sexist dudes (they look down on him, view him as an object, do not actually respect his opinion and so on so on)
I'm all for breaking gender norms, but I feel like in this cases it's less about that and more about stripping the character of all of their actual traits and filling him with negative characteristics that are associated with women. Like if you're writing porn, then sure, it's probably not surprising that your work is filled with stuff like that, but if you're going for a character study.... yeah, no..
Just started watching Yellowjackets and OH so you were NOT lying about Shane&Rick and Shauna&Jackie parallels huh...
Their dynamics are so similar it's insane

Honestly I'm not a fan of Rick and Jessie at all, BUT i feel like "Hate Yourself" by TV Girl fits their relationship so bad because??
"I think you'd fall in love with anyone / Who fell in love with you"
This particular quote perfectly resonates with what I believe Rick felt for Jessie and basically explains why he got attached to her so quickly. He spent so much time BARELY surviving by doing terrible things that ended up fundamentally transforming him, that by the time he reached Alexandria it only took one person who was attracted to him and seemed to behave like a regular human being (something that reminded him of his old life, of course) for him to decide that he needs this, needs her.
A saw a lot of people saying that him wanting Jessie was important since it showed that he was ready for a new relationship, ready to move on from Lori, and they're right. However, I also believe that there is a serious reason why he chose to go for Jessie instead of Michonne, whom he already had a crush on (he admits that in TOWL). As much as he loved Michonne, he wasn't ready to completely abandon the idea of having a normal life. That's exactly what Jessie meant to him: she was so normal, so conventional. Michonne was someone who went from all kinds of shit with Rick, which made her belong to the outside world that was an utter disaster. On the contrary, Jessie never had to deal with walkers and people who lost their mind. She was a part of the fairytale that Alexandria initially seemed to be, and I feel like that's what made Rick desire her. He was never ACTUALLY in love with her. He didn't even have enough time to get to know her, so how was he supposed to actually fall for her? It was all about her lifestyle. She was sweet and caring, she had kids and most importantly, she was a victim to be saved. So it wasn't just her normality that helped him feel like everything was fine again, but it was also her situation with Pete. It allowed Rick to feel like a hero again. Like a cop.
And the other important thing: she liked him. She obviously liked him and being an object of someone's attraction allowed Rick to feel like an actual human being again. So OF COURSE he rushed into a relationship with her. OF COURSE he got so desperate he ended up rolling in the ground with Pete in the span of days. He wanted to feel normal so bad, because ever since the apocalypse that man had been feeling like nothing but a complete monster.
So yes, he did, in fact, fall for "anyone" who "fell in love with him".
No matter how many Regan fanfics are going to be published I will ALWAYS come back to "Soft touch" and "Bittersweet sanctuary". Seriously, these two are my personal favorites and if you haven't read them yet you definitely should
