the way i itch when i see holland and what he has done being compared with other kpop idols
holland: openly gay, depicts gay love stories in his mvâs, has been bullied for being gay for years, talks about gay fetishization by kpop stans, spoke out against transphobia and racism in the lgbt community, couldnt get a company or support because he is openly! gay!
other idols: rainbow shirt, troye sivan stan, one song is gender neutral
Hereâs him talking on gay fetishization by K-pop stars
Uh maybe nsfw but "View" by SHINee is like orgasmically good
Instead of sex us ace people just listen to "View" lol
âdudeâ but like romantically
âbabeâ but like platonically
âSweetheartâ but like rivalry
I needed to find a song to talk about for my music appreciation class that has text/word painting in it (basically something in the lyrics happens in the song. Like if the lyrics say "descending" the notes go down)
So I asked my phone to just start playing all the music it has downloaded, and then "1 of 1" by SHINee came on and it turns out it has text painting in it at around 1:15 in Minho's part when he says "replay" twice
So i decided screw it I haven't listened to SHINee much since December 2017 for obvious reasons for those who were into Kpop at the time, but I still love them in my heart so I'll write about them bc it doesn't feel right to ignore this, because SHINee played a large part in making me who I am today
So after having spent some time with that song I now have realized how much I missed SHINee, and wanted to listen to SHINee so much... So now I've been listening to SHINee and it's late and I kind of want to cry bc I missed them so much
I remember in high school telling my mum that it's hard for me to really choose a favourite band, but then when I think about it SHINee always brings a smile to my face, and she said something like "Well there you go then!" Like "Dummy, SHINee is your favourite band." They were so safe for me, the fandom is great, and not to mention the fantastic music...
I miss Jonghyun but at least he's in the music
I love SHINee and I want to come back to them despite how bittersweet listening to them can be

Before today, I was really worried about trying to make my dwindling contacts supply last until the pandemic is over and I can visit the eye doctor again.
My last prescription had expired, and I only had 1 month worth of contacts left. I also have glasses as a backup, but I much prefer wearing contacts.
Just for kicks, I went to 1-800 Contactsâ website. It turns out theyâre offering FREE online eye exams.
All you have to do is answer a few questions (tell them your name, age, how long ago your last eye doctor appointment was, what U.S. state you live in), take some pictures of your eyes so they can check for irritation and redness, and read some letters from 10 feet away from your computer. It only took me 10 minutes to do all of that.
Then, within 24 hours an eye doctor reviews your information and issues you a prescription.
Thatâs it! It was really simple and easy, and most of all it was free. I also didnât have to talk to anyone!!
I got my new prescription just 3 hours after I did the âexam,â and Iâve already preferred a new year supply of contacts. Iâm really amazed at how easy this was, especially when Iâve been dreading running out of contacts during the pandemic.
Obviously, the 1-800 Contacts eye exam isnât a substitute for a real, in-person exam. But itâs the best most people can do right now.
TL;DR: If you need new contacts and you live in the U.S. but your prescription is expired, check out 1-800 Contacts and their free eye exam!
Thatâs not quite true. The reporter behind the story, Daphne Caruana Galizia, was murdered.
Not just murdered, that could have been coincidence.
She was murdered with a fucking car bomb.
Thatâs not a botched robbery or a serial killer, thatâs a professional assassination. Someone with money and political power, someone you might have voted for, planned and paid for this homicide.
An international group of journalists still collaborate to continue her work. Itâs called The Daphne Project.
me logging into this ugly stupid app every day knowing damn well that no one cares about me or what i have to say

Yâall Americans arenât brainwashed. You arenât insane. The vast majority of you donât agree with the rioters--or the president. Itâs just that you have an extremely vocal 15% minority that care more about their own power than about anyone elseâs actual lives, and somehow your president is unfortunately a member of that 15%
make it known that the majority of people dont agree with trump and co. its not helpful to make it seem like the people who disagree are a minority. its easier to stand up with others than it is to do so alone. this is one if the ways thats unions, strikes, protests, etc are prevented. its intentional. they want you to think you're alone.
yes, that small percentage may be brainwashed, but it does more harm than good to say that everyone is.

It gets a little bit easier once you realize you can accomplish things at your own pace and thatâs okay
THIS IS ACTUALLY FACTUAL AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED MORE
http://www.usms.org/articles/articledisplay.php?aid=294
âKnowing that they were losing âvaluable productâ due to their slavesâ propensity to swim, slave owners began taking drastic steps to protect their property. One of these steps was to instill a fear of the water by dunking disobedient slaves in water until they nearly drowned and by creating fear through stories of creatures living in the water. Thus it didnât take long to excise or destroy the West African swimming tradition from African- American culture. The Jim Crow laws that were enacted after The Civil War prohibited blacks from the popular seaside resorts in places like Atlantic City, N.J. and Revere Beach, Mass. And by the 20th Century, as the swimming pool began to gain in popularity in the United States, the color line prohibited blacks from enjoying this pleasant recreational skill.
In addition, self-segregation also played a role in limiting those of African ancestry from getting in the water. I remember my Aunt saying to stay away from the pool because, âblack folk donât swim.ââ
Such a long and consistent history of anti-Blackness and swimming. Long before police openly assaulted little black girls in McKinney, GoodWhitePeople⢠were enforcing White Supremacy and segregating swimming pools.
Motel manager, James âJimmyâ Brock, pouring acid into a swimming pool to drive black people away from a âSwim Inâ protest, in St. Augustine, Florida on June 18, 1964.
Next time you hear someone ask questions like, âWhy donât black people swim?â Or âWhy are so many black people afraid of dogs?â And, âWhy are there do so many black people live in poverty?ââŚ..let âem know that those arenât coincidences. These things didnât just happen naturally, all on their own. Thereâs a reason for it, and you donât have to be an historian to know theyâre all interconnected through slavery, endemic racism and persistently racist cultural norms.

Tips That Can Save Your Kidâs Life.
THIS IS IMPORTANTÂ
When I was a child, from the time I was about four and could understand things, my mom told me and my brother that we should have a secret word. That way, if we were ever in trouble or felt unsafe and we didnât want the people around us to know we needed her to come get us, we could let her know. So she let us pick the word and my brother and I chose the phrase âpeanut butter cups.â (Iâm happy to share the phrase now since both my brother and I are adults now).Â
I used the phrase twice in my life. Once, I was at a friends house when I eight years old. Her dad got really drunk and was throwing things against the wall. I was really scared and I didnât want to draw attention to myself on the phone when I called my mom to come get me because I didnât know if he would get more violent if I asked her to come get me. So I called her and was calm and after a couple minutes I asked âHey mommy, did you get me those peanut butter cups from the store?â And she said âIâll be right there.â And she came and got me within minutes.Â
Second, I was a teenager spending the night at a friends house. Her brother and dad were drinking and they started talking about things that made me uncomfortable - ie: what they liked to do to women. My friend didnât seem perturbed and said that was normal for them and that I shouldnât worry. But I was worried because they were really drunk and I was 15 and the only âwomanâ around that wasnât related to them. I went in my friends room, told her I needed to call my mom and say goodnight. Before I hung up with her I asked âNext time we go to the store, can we get some peanut butters cups? Iâve been craving them.â And she came and got me, just like that.Â
Two incidents, one as a young child, one years later as a teen. Donât discredit this stuff, it fucking works. My brother used it a few times too. Let your child pick the word and no never, ever, ever, ever get mad at them for using it no matter what it is.Â
DO NOT SCROLL PAST THAT.
When I was little my mum made sure we had a code word. It was never used and it wasn't for me to say to her, but it was for a situation like if she left me in the locked car while she went in for a quick shop in the supermarket, and she suddenly needed to go to the hospital, she would send someone to let me know and keep an eye on me (presumably until my dad or someone I knew could come and get me) and she would let them know the code word so I could trust them. It was for if she suddenly couldn't get to me in an emergency and had to send someone
Flooding Ohio's "work-refusal" snitchline
Ohio âre-openedâ without vaccines. effective therapeutics, sufficient ventilators, or adequate PPE/disinfectant, so workers will risk their lives if they go back to their jobs. But what Ohio DOES have is a snitchform for bosses when this happens.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/05/06/moloch-demands-death/#life-or-death
That way, bosses can punish workers who are reluctant to throw themselves into volcanoes to appease the economy gods by getting their unemployment benefits taken away, subjecting them to homelessness and starvation.
But as good as the state government of Ohio is at ruthlessly terrorizing workers, theyâre much worse at securing webforms, which is why itâs possible to run a script that sends thousands and thousands of plausible fake reports to the form.
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/wxqemy/this-script-sends-junk-data-to-ohios-website-for-snitching-on-workers
The script combines names from an online fake name generator with a list of the stateâs 100 top employers to generate fake data. The state has since updated its captcha but the scriptâs author promises to have a workaround soon.
The script was packaged as a command-line tool that lets users send fake reports in the background as they work by software engineer David Ankin.
https://www.npmjs.com/package/ohio-covid-toolkit
The scriptâs author told Motherboard, âWhat Iâm hoping is that, whether people use this exact code or not, they see itâs possible to take direct action against these sort of snitch programs, and that making and spreading small tools like this amongst ourselves can help.â

Hearing Freddyâs voice come out of that guyâs mouth fucked me up the most JFC
Oh, man, I have to comment on this one because so many of the comments are âthat guy doing Freddyâs voiceâ.
That guy is Frank Welker and he is not just a voice actor, he is THE voice actor.Â
If there is an animated movie or show out there, Frank Welker probably did a voice in it. His filmography is HUGE, he is the the #1 most credited actor out there, his combined movies have over 6 billion dollars in revenue, which doesnât account for his many uncredited roles.Â
This is the voice actor for Megatron from Transformers. After the original voice actor passed away, he took over as Scooby Doo. In fact, if there is a credit for âadditional voicesâ in a movie, animated or otherwise, it might be Frank Welker, he is a god of animals voices.Â
Abu from Aladdin? Frank WelkerÂ
Nibbler from Futurama? Frank Welker and thatâs whether it was his cute animal voice or his mighty talkinâ voice.Â
Little Kermit from Muppet Babies? You get the picture.Â
Here is a video of him doing the lion sounds from the original The Lion King with a dang trash can
And here is one of 80 different characters heâs voiced
The man is a legend!
