Miss Jean Louis and the Importance of GISHWHES in Her Life an Oversight in the 2042 Edition of Her Biography
One of the most interesting aspects in Miss Jean Louis’ life was only mentioned in passing in N.A.’s biography of her life and career. In chapter 39 on page 427 of the 5th edition of the book, the author mentions,
Another fun extra curricular item that impacted Louis’ later decisions in life was her role as Misha Collins’ advisor, aka babysitter, during the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen, also know at GISHWHES. He must have been so difficult to handle to have had such an impact on her life.
This was the only mention of this event in the book, but she did serve this position as the actor’s babysitter for thirteen years. It is clearly an oversight on the author’s part for not giving this issue, this side job Louis had for so long, more attention in his book. Upon deeper research, it has become evident that GISHWHES had a much larger impact on her life than previously believed. If one takes a look at how Miss Jean Louis acted before taking on the position of babysitter as well as after, then a significant difference is noticeable.
One prominent way she changed was her level of confidence. Â Misha Collins was a very eccentric boss, requiring her to do all sorts of strange and interesting things, such as teaching chicken tae kwon do and taste testing pasta with a truly disgusting-looking jam sauce. She faced each of these tasks head on, barely blinking an eye. In a 2020 interview in Entertainment Weekly magazine, she stated,
I knew when taking the position I would have to do some strange and crazy things, but I was excited because I needed something to help me come out of my shell, to help me become the woman I knew deep down I could be. Despite the stress he sometime gave me, I’ll forever be thankful to Misha for the confidence and vigor he gave me to face life with. I’m grateful for it everyday.
The power her GISHWHES experiences gave me shaped her into the woman she is today. It is the reason she is so confident in her abilities as a leader in this galaxy.
Another important characteristic that GISHWHES brought out of Miss Jean Louis was her ability to push the boundaries the things that people once though were impossible. Unbeknownst to many people, Misha Collins required Louis to test out several of the more difficult items on the scavenger hunt lists. This was a way to determine the point value and danger level of said items. Collins is reported to have said this of her character,
Year after year, I told her to do crazier and crazier things. Without too much grumbling, most of which was sent out in emails to the hunt participants, she attacked the items with an admirable amount of strength and ferocity. It is no wonder that the people what gathered behind her today based on what I have see in the past.
This passion witnessed by Collins was raised in the scavenger hunts. Attempting these crazy stunts, such as dropping a school bus in an active volcano, playing ping pong underwater with an egg yolk, and creating an oil painting underwater, taught Louis how to push boundaries. Moreover, her work during GISHWHES enabled her to see what all kinds of people from all over the world were capable of. She was said in an interview while on the campaign trail, “GISHWHES was very important to me. Not only was I able to see what I was adept at, but I was able to see the true potential of the people. I was able to understand what kind of goals they were able to accomplish and to see the good they were able to do.” Louis used the knowledge she gained from the scavenger hunts as source for better understanding the public she served later in her lifetime.
Over the years serving Misha Collins in his GISHWHES endeavors, Miss Jean Louis has emerged as a woman one should aspire to be compared to. From the confidence she gained to the boundaries she pushed, GISHWHES gave Louis exactly what she needed to become the First President of the Moon in 2040. N.A.’s future editions must expand of the often overlooked portion of her life and career.
