I found out I’ll be working in Acute, Emergency and inpatient Oncology. Going to be very busy, I am so nervous and excited!

Is anyone else a tired of the way fans speak about Van on the Reddit? I fear it may be parasocial of me but I get genuinely annoyed about it.

If what is being said behind the scenes is true regarding addiction, and personal issues the comments and things being said about him are not helpful at all, seeing comments about how he’s probably at home snorting lines, how he’s wasted all his potential, he doesn’t care, his heart isn’t in it anymore, and he values drugs over the years and years of hard work and dedication is all disgusting to say. I get people are annoyed about lack of communication but are they really valuing music over a persons mental and physical health? It’s obvious from last year’s shows he still very much cares and his heart is in it, the man was crying on stage for god sake. Has no one stopped to think that he may be working on getting help, and getting into a comfortable space in recovery before fully returning to music, or her may not, and as upsetting as it is to some he doesn’t owe us a thing. I just people would stop commenting such things because it’s not just to do with Van, it’s the way addiction has been spoken about so judgementally and poorly on there, cos whilst Van may not see what they think of addicts, I’m sure there’s other people in there that are hurt by the words used to generalise people with drug problems.
