Hey all,
Normally, I would never consider asking something like this, as I prefer to do things like reading or giving short humorous lectures to earn a little extra. I don't have that option right now.
Our cat, Serendipity ('Seren') has recently been crying when eating solid food due to pain, probably tooth related. He's had a visit to the vet, and there's a possibility he needs to go under and have teeth removed. This isn't a cheap service by any means, and right now, I don't know how to do this. The vet does not offer payment plans via installments, so that's right out.

Fiction: "Knights were always honourable and just men, who fought their foes in open battle with grace and dignity." Fact: "Open battles were rare, costly, and stupid. Most of their actual work involved pillaging grain, setting things on fire, murdering peasants, and acting in peacetime as the big stick whenever their lord's subjects got any ideas above their station."
I didn't realise I had become a blog for the cynics that have been re-reading A Song Song of Ice and Fire...?
Not really sure what else to say to this, it's not an ask, it's more a cynical rant, with the actual truth being in the middle.
Obviously this guy has never actually read any of the fiction.
In Arthurian legends, (I'm pretty sure it was) Gawain went on a quest chasing a white stag across the country side, when he caught up to the stag it was in someone's castle being ripped apart by the owner of the castles dogs, so Gawain started liking the dogs, when the Lord of the castles came out to be like "wtf why are you killing my dogs" Gawain beat the ever loving shit out of him and right before he suck the killing blow, the dudes wife jumped in front of him to plead for mercy and Gawain chopped off her fucking head. Later on he had to ride home with the woman's severed head tied by the hair around his neck so everyone knew what he'd done.
Also fiction almost never had knight fighting in big open battles after the boring political parts of Arthurian legends. The bulk of the stories are about errant knights going questions and fighting in single combat with other errant knights.
Lancelot is also a great example of "I'm really trying to be flawless and good, putting so much pressure on myself that sometimes I just go full berzerk : time for a killing spree"
So, I would have to guess they're complex characters and figures... And that the truth lies in-between two extremes. On this point, fiction and reality have much in common.

The Green Knight is the antagonist from the middle english chivalric romance Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Definitly an arthurian story worth reading !
As for our hero, Sir Gawain, the belt that shields him prevents his death... at great cost, for he lost honor getting it.

Meet Galéhaut, the giant king who gave up his crown for the love of Lancelot. He even became a knight of King Arthur, his former opponent. He is taking Lancelot out of the battlefield and hopefully, out of love's grasp, but Lancelot was badly injured on that matter... And that's a tragic story for poor high prince Galéhaut ! (He deserves some love)
