“I remember that!” He laughed, opening his eyes as he shook his head, the tips of his hair flinging small drops of water across the tub. “Yeah, everyone was all bent out of shape because it’s supposed to be secure or whatever.” Blake had forgotten all about that, and had never realized it was her. “Oh, no contest. The Prefect’s bath was much better.” He teased her, smirking devilishly as he flicked some bubbles in her direction.

She laughed at the little flicks. “Secure against kids who hadn’t spent their childhoods breaking into places. Plus Sebastian would have done literally anything to make Bella happy.” She joked before splashing back with a laugh. “OoooOO is that so?” the laughs eased after a moment as she tilted her head with a smile and a thoughtful expression. “What’s the worst thing you did back in school? I don’t think I remember you getting in trouble once.” 

Placing his hand gently in hers, Blake traced small circles in her skin - more relaxed than he could remember being in weeks. “I love you, too.” He murmured, sinking slightly lower into the bubbles and sighing as the warm water climbed up his skin. “No, you haven’t.” He grinned at her story, always happy when she decided to open up to him like this. “You know, I don’t think I’ve ever taken a bubble bath outside of the Prefect’s bathroom. Not quite the same.”

“Lucky duck.” She grinned giggling a bit. “The only time I got to use the prefects Bathroom was when me, Seb, Lennox and Bella snuck in.” She laughed at the memory. “We got caught and detention for like a week. But it was worth it. Is this better or not as good as the Prefects bath?” She questioned with a raised brow and playful challenge.

Kendall:: idek i just told them all at dinner. i panicked and now im hiding in my room lol

“Okay, so I have my dad. Ian. He’s an auror, super big and scary looking but he’s basically a puppy? He’s gonna be pissed when he finds out I went to California, though. Just so you know.” Kendall laughed. “And then there’s Braxley, who is my brother. He plays Quidditch for the Moosejaw Meteorites. He’s a big ol’ sweetie. I love him, he’s gonna love you. He’ll probably be the easiest to win over.” Kendall took a sip of her drink. “And then there’s Bailey. She’s my sister. And one of my best friends. If you have to be afraid of anyone in my family, it’s Bailey. She’s a HIT wizard and will probably kick your ass if you hurt me, so don’t hurt me.”

Holland listened and nodded slowly as she explained everyone. “Bailey? Wait...your last name is fielding right? I went to school with a Bailey Fielding...we still sort of stay in touch.” Holland said as she thought about it. “And I would never hurt you. I’m rubbish at kicking ass’ though so I’m glad she’s got that covered.”

Doing as he was told, he nearly lost his breath as he opened his eyes again. She was really in the bath, naked. He licked his lips, nervous. Excited, but still nervous. This was a big step for them, and he wasn’t exactly sure just what she had planned. Nodding, he took a deep breath before following her lead as she closed her eyes, stripping down and leaving his clothes in a pile behind him before climbing into the tub with her. “Merlin, does that feel good.” He sighed happily, smiling at her.

When she felt the water move and settle she opened her eyes. “Mmm, It does doesn’t it?” She same with a wide smile, holding her hand out just to hold his again. “Mmm I like this. I love you.” She smiled, giggling again. “And I love bubble baths. Did I ever tell you that? I had this one foster mom who when ever she had a long day she’d make herself a bubble bath and I asked her one day why and she said it ‘wash her worries away’. I asked if it could wash mine away and she smiled and asked what worries I had before giving me a bottle of bubbles and showing me how much to put in.”

Kendall: I told them and i think im gonna puke lol

“I mean probably.” Ken shrugged. She took a sip of her drink. “I just want them to accept you. Like that’s the part that freaks me out the most.“

“Well, I’ll be on my best behavior. Then they can’t hate me.” She joked to try and calm her nerves. “Tell me anything i need to know about them.” 

Frankie leaned forward for the hug with a smile. “Trust me, after about a year, we get wild.” She pulled away after a little while. “Cherish the sweetness while you can.”

“I can’t wait.” She grinned, calming herself down. “Thank you, really. Okay, okay I need some frankie time. How have you been? What’s new with you?”

Blake tried not to rush through his work - that was how mistakes were made. He slowed his hands, taking a deep, steadying breath as he finished fixing the man’s IV, but his thoughts were only on Holland. They’d been struggling to find time together all night - but at least they were both here. “That should feel much better.” He assured the man with a smile, before nodding and leaving the room to go find her. But when he got to the break room again, she was gone, and he sighed heavily, taking his New Year’s headband off and wringing it through his fingers as he waited to see if she was coming back.

Holland had waited for him in the break room like she said until she was summoned to one of her younger patients. She didn’t rush easing them back to sleep for the third time that night. Maybe if she took her time they would stay asleep this time. She snuck away once they had nodded off. slipping slowly until the door was closed than it was all but a sprint toward the break room. She grinned as she seen him, moving to wrap her arms around his shoulders from behind. “There’s my handsome man. Hows Mr. Dickerson?” She asked as she kissed his cheek. 

“All these pregnant women are under a lot of stress, doesn’t give someone the right to be a dick.”

“Right. But we all deal with stress differently. So what are the updates?” Holland prompted to change the topic.

“I can’t.” He said instantly, having compromised with himself this morning. He’d come see her, but he wouldn’t be a burden. If he was going to make it harder for Ivy, he wouldn’t come at all. “I can’t tell her that. I can’t tell her that I want to make it right until I know that I can. She deserves more from me.”

“You are more than you give yourself credit for Seb.” Holland said gently, resting her hand on his shoulder. “This is the hardest I’ve seen you work on something since we were in school.” 

“Silly me.” He murmured, rolling his eyes playfully. He’d figured that was why she had gone to the bathroom, but Blake hadn’t thought she’d wanted to take one together. They’d never done anything like that before. “If you want me here, I’m here.” He assured her with a small smile, tugging her zipper down and planting a soft kiss at the nape of her neck.

She shivered at the kiss and turned to face him, holding the dress up. “Eyes closed.” She teased, slipping out of the dress and into the bubbles before he opened his eyes once more. “Your turn.” She giggled, covering her own eyes with one hand and holding out her other hand for him.

Heaving a sigh of relief, he nodded, feeling like he could breathe again for the first time since he’d gotten her text. “Good, that’s…. that’s good.” He licked his lips, glancing at her sideways at her question, wanting to give her an honest answer for once - he’d lied to her enough when he had been drinking. “I really, really want a fucking drink, Hall. But it’s fine, I’m fine. I won’t let it get to me.”

She nodded, understanding his reply. “You’re doing really great Seb, I’m honestly really proud of you.” She told him, giving him a more supportive smile. “She’s going to be okay and so are you.”
