SELF-CARE TIPS FOR COLLEGE
- Have at least 8 glasses of water every day, donât forget to eat, and take your medications.
- Energize and take 20 deep breaths every day.
- Love your life every day.
1 - Do what you love: What brings you joy? Â What youâre passionate about? Take time to tap into your humanity and your creative side, every day.
2 - Reevaluate where you are in your life. Is this where you want to be? Â Shape your own career path. Â Academia is not the end all be all for any of us. Think about your short- and long-term goals every day.
3 - Set priorities and boundaries â without apology. Remove toxic people from your life. Block out times to take care of yourself and make self-care just as much of a priority (or perhaps even more so) than other aspects of your life.
4 - Get new role models not role-martyrs. Stop glorifying people who gave it all until there was nothing left a long time ago. Â Make your role models people who make time for themselves, for family, and for friendships.
5 - Create a wellness manifesto and community. Hold yourself to this mantra, and check in with a community that keeps you accountable.
6 - Treat yourself A cookie, a cup of coffee will do.
7 - Unplug for a few hours Social media can be fun, but it can be too much of a distraction. Try to unplug your phone, laptop and iPad for an hour. Try to read a book or spend time with friends.
8 - Sleep enough. Your health is important, prioritize yourself.
9 - Spend time outside It helps clear your mind, helps you focus on the positives. You return calmer and more focused.
10 - Be with loved ones. They make you feel better, and give support. You deserve to be surrounded with people who make you happy.
11 - Spend some time by yourself. Everyone is different, you might want to spend time with people, and some time by yourself. Read a book, ride a bike, take a shower, doing things that make you feel like yourself. Admire your accomplishments and celebrate with aromatherapy every day. Hum for short intervals of time every day. Itâs very calming and supports heart health.
12 - Add what helps you âŚ

Why is this so accurateâŚ
How I scored 97% on my neurology exam using some Law of Attraction tips
The exam was in 3 weeks when I once came back home from my neuroanatomy class, crying because I barely knew anything and started comparing myself to others and putting myself in this all-negative-bubble I couldnât get away from.
However, panicking and crying wouldnât help me get anything done. Thatâs how the Law of Attraction came in my mind and that I really started using it.
So, how does it work?Â
First of all, you have to know what you really want. What will this good grade bring you? Will it get you closer from your ultimate goal? For me, I wanted to get the best score ever because I knew that neurology is a medical speciality I want to be into and getting a good score would demonstrate that this speciality is made for me :)Â
Thinking about your ultimate goal -like being successful, being accepted in your dream school, or just be happy- will help you having a more positive mindset and therefore raise your vibrations towards the Universe.
Another thing you have to know is that Law of Attraction doesnât work if youâve never studied and your exam is in two days, you canât get anything by doing nothing. You canât expect a miracle if you did nothing in order to get closer to your goal.Â
What did I do then?
Since stressing and getting anxious wouldnât help me, I needed to be more calm and relaxed, and above all, I had to be positive. I knew how important this exam was and being afraid was the worst thing to do if I wanted to succeed.
Therefore, I took a piece of paper, and wrote down this phrase : ÂŤ I scored a 100% on my Neurology exam Âť, with the score written in bold and big font. I also wrote ÂŤ Iâm going to do my best every time I study, Iâm going to be positive by never doubting about my capacities and always be confident Âť. Then I put this paper upon my desk, in order to see it every time I studied.
I also started visualizing my goal. I visualized myself doing my exam, knowing all the answers, getting a good score. I visualized the possible questions asked by the professors, I visualized myself answering them.
I studied almost everyday. I watched neuroanatomy videos when I was at the gym and re-write again and again all the neurological pathways I had to know.
I was still anxious, but every time I felt overwhelmed I would look at that piece of paper and I would say Thank You to the Universe.
I would also meditate, before bed or even in the middle of a study session. Meditation helped me for visualization but also kept me from falling into a negative mindset.
The big day arrived and I was confident. I tried by best to keep my fear away, by not letting others distract me with theirs. I knew I was well prepared, so what should I be worried about?
My turn came and, still confident, I answered all the questions, like I visualized them. I got sometimes destabilized, but I bounced back every time. The professor was asking me all kinds of questions in order to fly from a subject to another. Letâs just say that I answered them all without any kind of problem, until he told me that the exam was over. I have talked non stop for 25 minutes.
When I went out of the room, I knew that the exam went good for me. But I still burst to tears because the tension accumulated was so high ! 2 weeks later, we received the results. And I couldnât believe my eyes : I scored 97% nearly just as much as I wrote down on that piece of paper. Â
Now letâs summarize : how can YOU use Law of Attraction for your exams?Â
Find your WHY : I think this is by far the most important thing. Why do you want to succeed in that exam? Where do you want to be in 5 years?Â
Be confident : if youâre doing your best you are allowed to except the best.Â
Visualize : dream boards and meditation are your bests friendsÂ
Study (well, of course) : as I said before you canât expect anything from the Universe if you donât manifest it.Â
Donât let fear and negativity distract you : you wonât get anything done by doing only negative self-talk. You are capable. Never forget that.Â
Last thing : everything you want already exists. You just have to manifest it by changing your mind and, as a consequence, your habits ; because as you might already know :Â your thoughts become things.Â

We need to intentionally stop to be with God more than once a day so that practicing the presence of God becomes real in our lives.

How to deal with a concept you do not understand
Breathe. If you are starting to feel flustered, stressed, frustrated, take a break. The more angsty you feel, the less likely youâll be able to focus on the actual concept. Take a break, study something else, but make sure when youâre trying to tackle a difficult concept, you are calm, cool, and collected.Â
Re-read your notes. This one is obvious but ask yourself if youâre actually re-reading your notes or if youâre just glancing over the page. Sometimes it helps to rewrite your notes in a different way.Â
Read someoneâs elseâs notes. Sometimes reading something in a different way can help you understand a concept you are struggling with.Â
Ask someone but make sure whoever youâre asking wonât confuse you further. To be safe, ask a TA, your professor, or an experienced tutor. I cannot count how many times Iâve casually asked someone to explain a concept and I end up leaving 10x more confused. Make sure youâre asking the right people.Â
Google it. Seriously. There are many amazing resources out there that may be as close as the click of a button.Â
Re-watch a lecture, if possible. Some professors webcast their lectures and going over your notes while listening to them is really helpful when you canât quite grasp a concept.Â
Be patient. Sometimes, youâll need to work at a concept over a number of days and thatâs perfectly okay. The most important part is that you try your best to understand and that you realize everyone learns at different paces.Â
Do NOT wait until the last minute to tackle a difficult concept. Procrastinating on this kind of stuff right up before an exam can increase your anxiety and deplete your self-confidence. Make sure you tackle these difficult concepts as soon as you encounter them so you can take your time to understand everything.Â
