Molten Slug (Squishscald)
Commissioned by @hiveshin
"Well-known and rather common throughout the Harmonious lands despite being native to Charizee, Squishscald can occassionally come to dwell within lakes in large colonies. Keeping the water at hot tub temperature, they purify it in a way, but also push out most native fish, mollusks and other sources of human sustenance - thus being both a blessing and a curse.
Unfortunate are those who would accidently step on a slug the temperature of a molten rock, but there are creatures with specialized enough limbs and "gloves" that have adapted to utilize Squishscald as devastating projectiles"

Bro absolutely COOKED with this.
If you ever hear the phrase "fascism is aesthetics as politics," that's what this post is talking about.
It's not about being tough on crime, because the absolute toughest most brutal measure you could take against "crime" as a social problem is to alleviate poverty, and increase access to education, healthcare and social mobility.
It's about performing "tough on crime" as an aesthetic by enacting violence against a prop, i.e. minorities and the impoverished, who are fetishized and objectified to represent "crime." They are brutalized as punishment for crime, but never with the purpose of alleviating the problem of crime.
This is why a lot of conservatives and other right wingers can get straight up angry when you suggest things like reform or social measures to reduce crime. They don't want crime to be reduced, they want an eternal war against "crime" because it provides an arena for the righteous to demonstrate virtue by brutalizing their enemies.

What a STUNNING panel for a cabinet door! Dated late 16th–early 17th century and acquired by Cooper Hewitt @cooperhewitt in 1959, it has been created using a raised embroidery technique and it made from silk, metal wire, metal strips, coral beads, cotton, and linen.
A panel like this one would have been made by a team of professional embroiderers, mostly male, with specialized skills: one for the hand-painted silk backgrounds, one for the raised metallic embroidery, one for the needle-lace leaves, etc.
