She can only weave her way through the city for so long before his presence becomes too much to handle. She’s aware she’s being followed, that watchful eye burning into the back of her body. Suddenly, unable to take in any longer, she lashes out at him. oops. “–Quit following me around! It’s creepy!”

Bystanders pause to give her funny looks regarding her outburst. They probably think she’s crazy, shouting at no one in particular. And her face turns red with embarrassment, quickly turning away and continuing down the street. She should have known no one else could see him. 

A park would be her best bet here. An open space where no one would be able to tell she’s talking to herself unless they were in ear shot. With that in mind, Rei turns a corner, speed walking towards the nearest park.

Hitotsume follows behind her silently. You could say he’s curious about where she’s headed to so quickly. He’s even willing to IGNORE her out burst to quench his curiosity. He pays no mind to the way people stop to give her strange looks. He would have been AMUSED by that in any other situation. 

The more they walk, the more he notices the lack of people flooding the streets. Hitotsume tilts his head to the side as his one eye stares directly into her back. And he only gets more confused by her actions when the two end up in an ISOLATED part of a public park. But then it hits him. Why she decided to come here out of all places. It was so no one would think she was crazy if she decided to talk to him. Smart.

Is this some kind of JOKE ? Did she think this was FUNNY ? 

ryuk is, sometimes, helpful. it isn’t always at the right time, hardly ever in the right place, but when he is helpful, yagami acknowledges with indifferent candor. you’re being followed, he warns, and this guy can see me. warns to yagami that, whoever this person is, he’s giving ryuk the fucking creeps. let’s get out here! and yagami is privy to the turn the corner with a sharp right. if he really can see ryuk, then he might as well see how far he can keep up through the maze of a city. 

several lefts, four rights, and two long stretches later before he stops at the dead end of an alleyway. stays silently still, unwavering, as yagami stares hard ahead of him at the impenetrable wall. the wolf does not corner himself without an exit plan. 

when he turns around, shoulders squaring as expression tilts, he faces what he assumes to be the person so apt at playing the game of hide & seek. 

❝ you’ve been following me, ❞ declares yagami, ❝ and i’d like to know why. ❞

This one is bold, he notes. Humans these days really have no filter when it comes to expressing their emotions. It’s interesting. A slender hand slips out of his coat pocket to point at the thing lurking around in the background. 

“      I’m curious about that.      ”

His voice is deep yet hold an eerily creepy undertone. Only resonating inside the heads of those within the alley. Any passerby's would not be AWARE of him or this conversation he’s having.
