kriselle so good me & friend started talking about what if all the dark fountains and SOUL summoning never happened and nothing ever changed and Susie left without looking back and Kris leaves in an Asriel way (will visit) and Noelle still wakes up to breakfast with her mother. And comphet kriselle is at the end of this btw in an effort to change things Noelle still puts herself and Kris in the same boxes when she reconnects with Kris after a decade

but seriously I feel like the worst part is that this could've happened if Kris never became friends with Susie. I feel like Kris forming a friendship with Susie was the start of a lot of realizations within the three, and much more exposure to their true selves (which is ironic considering the actual game when we are the ones in control of Kris). So, if Kris never became friends with Susie, Susie perhaps would've still believed she wasn't deserving of love, but still having Noelle maybe (?) approach her, but not in the same way as in the game. It does suck but Kris being there was a push the two needed to change.
If none of the dark fountains and soul stuff happened, things probably would've stayed the same. Noelle literally alluded in ch 5 how everything is so repetitive and draining, how she wishes to just "leave", and if failing the lake scene, how nothing ever changes and she just gets carried away.
And because of that, maybe.. she would've kept the same expectations and roles towards herself and Kris in the future if there was no outside influence. Perhaps if she thinks she just gets too carried away with wanting a change, it's just better to stay in what is considered the "norm".
