Made a tiny comic about scara's character development because these thoughts wouldn't leave my head 😭

I'm honestly terrible at making comics and pacing scenes, but i tried my best and had fun with it!!

Honestly, I personally think it might've intentionally been to throw people off from immediately guessing Dark Road. Like, compared to the other khdr upperclassmen, Vali has a much more... muted(?) design. All of the others have very vibrant clothing or hair which would make them very recognizable. But Vali isn't vibrant, he's very lowkey and "basic"- which isn't a knock at his design, I think his design with the face mask and the primarily black very clearly telegraphs him as a silent observer type character who prefers to stay out of the spotlight.

I think the fact his design is relatively "generic" helps create more intrigue because for those "not in the know" he could be, like, any number of characters. As opposed to, say, Vidar and Vala who have very obvious character design details which could immediately clock them as them. You can look at a light-skinned boy with dark hair and dark clothes and come up with a ton more answers than either of those two.
