Two of the most acclaimed horror movies out this year have the greatest horror be a horny old women (X) or a naked deform old woman (The barbarian), the aging body of a woman is enough to be "body horror." Old women are the least likely among us to kill, there is no basis in reality for fear. They are our most vulnerable. So the real fear has to be aging features, the movie usually shows long breasts, unkempt thinning hair, deformity, or just sagging skin - framed as body horror. In these films about rape, kidnaping and pornography industry, the horror is just an aging woman. That always makes me itch ... And we wonder why women & girls are so petrified by any sign of aging on their face and bodies. Apparently we'll all become terror inducing. I personally can't wait! Maybe then we won't be victimized!
