       Typically, when someone offered a service it was in hopes of improving the together image. But this situation was out of spite. Kira had become too familiar with Hato’s face, seeming like she was in just about any pamphlet. It agitated him, she should have a focus. A self image and branding. Usually, he was very good at ignoring that type of media. But it felt like every time he was docked he rolled his eyes at every magazine. Though it was through spite, he didn’t feel like he was holier then thou. It was unlike him to think his knowledge was worth handing out like this. 

         It would be a lie to say he had not already started planning for Hato. Nothing in stone, but the thought of building a schedule for someone else was entertaining. Time filling. Possibly, a true motive? To fill his time on land? Well, his roommate was busy with classes. Playing with a feather teaser with the cats only was so entertaining for so long. Taking on this additional roll felt a little similar to taking in a stray cat, through not as rewarding as when said cat finally warms up to you. He didn’t need satisfaction out of it though, just closure. He never imagined dressing for any other job, of course wearing his marine surgeon uniform. It was his staple look, never changing his closet. Fashion did not matter to him in the slightest. He approached the table, waving the waiter down to know he was meeting someone. As he took his seat his brow was furrowed like he had an issue, something made him tick. Maybe he would even out once the conversation got rolling? 

ㅤ ㅤHer focus was on the cup in front of her, the tip of her index finger circling the rim again and again, trying to calm her anxious thoughts somehow. Usually very confident about her own choices, Hato was starting to think again about this one in particular. There was no regret at all, not really. The idea was incredible per se — his seriousness made her conclude that things would finally get back on track. The thing was, that same austerity could be a double-edged sword, making their communication troublesome. Said thought made her brows draw together in a frown, plump lips turning into a pout, until one last glance in the direction of the entrance made her heart race. Oh, Yoshikage really came to talk to her! She stirred in her chair, a bright smile spreading across her face. A natural reaction of so much enthusiasm, but also a way to start with the right foot, leaving no doubt about her commitment. A wave of her hand indicated the table, and when he finally sat down she waited for something to happen...

ㅤ ㅤ Words as harsh as astonished interrupted her cautious steps, slim figure turning quickly towards the unknown man who had been completely unnoticed until then. Hato's observation skills were never the best, and once intrigued by such a large and luxurious room, she didn't even bother to look more closely at the corners. That strong voice was never heard before, but his face was well-known, printed on posters and newspapers and all kinds of patriotic propaganda across the country. ❝ Mr. President!! ❞ One hand went to her chest dramatically, her heart beating fast under the expensive fabric of her dress and pleasantly warm skin. Funny Valentine in the flesh! Sudden wonder was now mixed with sincere confusion, noticeable in the way her blue eyes blinked many times. ❝ Huuuh? Couldn’t I come in? ❞ Then she stared at the door, there was no one there. Soldiers, employees, bodyguards — no one stopped her from passing. A sign that the security schemes around his illustrious figure needed some adjustment, perhaps? Such a serious situation justified the annoyance that twisted his pleasant features.
