This is a rlly obscure headcanon but I still hold the belief that Poppy and Hickory are reincarnated soulmates and thats why things happened the way they did in Trolls World Tour
Them instantly getting along despite Branch's concerns about him being a complete stranger and the fact that Hickory had an actual difficult time going through with the mission he was hired for and had a hard time choosing between his family's culture to save and making sure Poppy was safe.
I think it would be really sweet to show that its ok for romantic soulmates to not end up together in every universe ( cuz, you know broppy ) and also Poppy and Hickory's past lives are Martha and Francis from the movie Mr. Right
I even kinda think that their next lives after their Troll lives is Mr. Wolf and Diane from The Bad Guys. It doesnt line up as perfectly but theyre not gonna be one in the same with each reincarnation.

In regards to that King Peppy post you reblogged recently, I do think it’s interesting how despite Peppy loving Poppy more then anything in the world he’s still kind of a bad dad and that’s been consistent with his characterization (such as not telling her about the strings even after her coronation, when it’s SUPPOSED to be her responsibility). Like I think it largely stems from him worrying about Poppy so much and being unable to handle things that are emotionally difficult for him that he ends up really sheltering her. Like he’ll put his own safety at risk for her (No troll left behind) but he won’t put himself in an awkward position or inform her about things and just hoping they never come up. While realistically it is largely trying to justify why Poppy doesn’t know about things that are super important to Trolls past because they weren’t written yet during the first movie, I do like that Peppy is incredibly flawed as a result (and yeah, Viva should’ve given him more grief about abandoning her and the pop trolls she saved, or at the very least not jumped immediately into acting like nothing was wrong. IDK I guess that’s why we have fan fiction and fan art to explore that when the movie didn’t have time to)
