Hello, you amazing citizens of Tumblr. Here we are, the first writing challenge I’m happy to hold for no particular reason other than challenges are very fun.

We all know and love many Jujutsu Kaisen characters, and I guess many of us love food too. So, what if we join both passions in this challenge?

Welcome to “JJK foodies and goodies”, where you can send as part of the challenge a fic relating any JJK character with - you guessed it - food!

Slutty smut using food other than intended? Food preference head canons? A dinner scene? The sky is the limit, guys.

One fic per writer.

Said fic or Drabble must be within the 400-2000 word count limit.

It has to be an original/not already posted piece, that was written specially for the challenge.

It must feature at least one JJK character in a main role.

There is no need for it to be “x Reader”.

Any genre is accepted, but be sure to tag it correctly at the beginning of your fic.

Just to write and have fun with it. I might think of a next challenge with an actual prize, like a fanart or something of that sort, but this is supposed to be a simple bonding experience among writers and readers from the community. By the end of the challenge, I intend to make a masterlist with all of the submitted fics and put it in my pinned post.

All submissions must be POSTED on your own blogs, TAGGING me (@tsukimefuku) and LINKING this challenge at the beginning, after May 26th and until June 21st.

Any story posted for the challenge after that deadline won’t be on the challenge’s masterlist.

Considering this will be an extensive challenge to unite jjk fans and writers across the platform, I’d like to provide writers with a taglist for when they post their stories.

You don’t have to use the tag list, but you can if you want!

1. open your masterlist/post on desktop

2. switch to html text editor by clicking the settings wheel then going to the drop down menu on “rich text.” change to html

3. copy ALL of the code. have a text replacer ready on a new tab (any is fine)

4. copy the code into the first text box (original/old text). in the “find text” box, type in your old url. in the “replace with” box, insert your new url

5. copy the new code that is generated

6. go back to your masterlist, make sure you are still on the html editor, and paste the new code

Notes: My favorite part of writing for AoT is that most fics take place in this nebulous part of the timeline due to the years between the season releases (especially between 1-2). Ah, it makes it all the much simpler to be self-indulgent.

Okay, you get an answer, because at least you took the effort to write your ask out properly, even if you are hiding behind the grey, sunglassed circle.

Do I, or any fanfic author for that matter, have any legal claims to our work? No, not really, no. (Although if someone took a fic, filed off the serial number--deleted the fandom specific elements--, and then had it published for financial gain, yeah, that would be a case.)

BUT

Fandoms are built on a social contract that says we respect each others work, the effort people put into their art. We don't steal or disrespect the work of our peers. By feeding people's fanworks to AI you both steal and disprect it, and we need to make people realize that before it's too late--before fandom falls apart, because there will be no more real, actual fanworks.

People who write IP content for corporations give up their copyright on a contractual basis--the company wants writing they can sell about characters/settings they own without getting entangled in royalty obligations etc, so they hire people. Who sign contracts saying they don't own what they write as part of that job.

That's why you don't own Star Wars stuff you wrote for Disney; you specifically agreed not to own it.

Writing for IP you don't own leaves you in a position where you can't legally monetize it (without taking out the Owned parts ad rebranding), but it absolutely does not automatically cede or void copyright. That is super not a thing.

SUPER not a thing, I cannot say this enough.

I can't sell my Batman fic, but neither can DC Comics without my duly authorized consent. Because they own Batman, but not the prose I composed about him.
