🚪the horror behind 213:

on the humid night of july 1991, tracy edwards escaped with his life, and informed police of the “freak” that had threatened to eat his heart. the police returned with edwards to apartment 213, where they discovered the horrors of dahmer’s “little horrid creation”

inside the apartment they found:

7 skulls (3 of which were painted and 3 which featured drill holes) the skulls were those of:

konerak sinthasomphone [14] *found with drill holes*.

curtis straughter [17].

errol lindsey [19] *found with drill holes*.

ernest miller [22] *painted skull*.

anthony sears [24] *painted skull*.

tony hughes [31] *found with drill holes*.

raymond smith [32] *painted skull].

2. 4 human heads belonging to:

matt turner [20].

jeremiah weinberger [23] *also found with drill holes*.

oliver lacy [24].

joseph bradehoft [25].

3. other remains found were:

the complete skeleton of ernest miller.

three torsos belonging to: jeremiah weinberger, matt turner & joseph bradehoft (found in a blue 57-gallon drum, in the bedroom.)

oliver lacy’s body.

severed hands & genitals of curtis straughter.

the mummified genitals & dried scalp of anthony sears.

two human hearts belonging to ernest miller & oliver lacy.

blue floral blood strained mattress.

x1 white pillow with light blue floral pattern with blood stain.

x1 black pillow case & pillow with blood stain.

x1 black fitted bedsheet with blood stain.

carpet had dried blood stains on the undersides, that had soaked right through and subsequently stained the wooden floor beneath.

containers of ethyl alcohol, chloroform, and formaldehyde.

the top dresser drawer contained around 30 polaroid photos taken by dahmer at various stages of his victims' deaths.

on top of the bed was a polaroid camera, and underneath the bed was a beer can and a black handled hunting knife. (the knife dahmer used to threaten edwards)

📝 chatting with dietz:

when dr park dietz discussed the opening of his victims abdomen, dietz asked dahmer if he imagined that his victims were suffering, to which dahmer told him that he did imagine that they were suffering, and that he was never excited about that idea, instead dahmer was excited about the insides being visible to him:

“i was thrilled to seeing the insides, i never thought of them being alive while it was being done.”

when dietz went on to question dahmer further about why he [dahmer] didn’t open the victims abdomens while they alive and drugged, dahmer explained that wasn’t what he wanted to do.

“i wanted to sexually enjoy them while they were whole and undamaged.”

j.d: “since i had completely failed in trying to resist the urges, yeah i just, i just went with it, embraced it.”

dr.d: “decided not to try.”

j.d: “right, right.”

dr.d: “but the only time you tried to resist was when you were going with religion with your grandma.”

j.d: “right.”

dr.d: “and then the failure with the fellow at the ambassador, do you even remember what happed there?”

j.d: “after that there was no resistance after that, none. It was a gradual escalation, drinking, bath clubs, book stores, bath clubs, right up until the ultimate.”

dr.d : “did you understand how self-indulgent this was?”

j.d: i did but by that time my moral compass was so shot, so totally corrupted that that was my main focus of life. These were my fantasies, that’s what fueled my fantasies. That’s what happens when you think you don’t have to be accountable to anyone, you think you can hide your activities and never have to account for them, it can lead to anything then, which it did.”

dr.d: “you think more people would have done these sort of things if you weren’t inhibited by your conscious?”

j.d: “it would depend on the person i suppose, i don’t know, I can’t speak for others. I really don’t know, I only know what happened in my case.”

dr.d: “you felt this as a struggle for a couple of years?”

j.d: “right, up until the ambassador and then there was no struggle after that, no struggle at all.”

dr.d: “you did just what you pleased.”

“Uh yeah I guess I will take one more.”

upon entering Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment, you’ll notice that it’s a bit disorganized and awkward. straight ahead from the entrance, you’ll see his fish tank, situated on top of a sleek black table in the far corner of the room. Before the fish tank is a light colored couch and a crooked rug, too small for the space it’s in. the walls are sparsely populated with erotic imagery of the male form.

on the upper corner of the wall, there’s a security camera, like one you’d see outside of a grocery store.

looking around the small, cluttered apartment, you’ll find hints as to what the man who lives here gets up to.

here on this side-table, you’ll see empty cans of beer among what looks like bottles of chemicals and medications. there’s even a drill on the floor next to a bottle of bleach.

if you turn to your left, you’ll see a cube freezer, stationed awkwardly near the kitchen area. on top of this freezer lay a bunch of polaroids taken by Dahmer. in front of the freezer are several boxes of Soilex cleaning product and several square cardboard boxes, which contained acid.

if you turn all the way around, you’ll be back at the front door, looking at the hallway towards Jeff’s bedroom.

stepping just into the small hallway, and turning to your left, you’ll see Jeff’s bed along with a dresser carrying a TV. the floor is stained and the room is cluttered but not full. beyond the dresser, just out of sight, a large blue drum takes up space in the corner. i wonder what he keeps in there..?
