The Viltrumites being too scared of Conquest to try to befriend him but not too scared to insult him is kinda interesting to me because before this I was starting to think Conquest didn't get as much respect in the Empire as I though he did and this just confirms it. Lucan just insults him to his face lol.

Now I'm thinking that the Viltrumites can acknowledge that Conquest is a valuable asset to the Empire but they still don't fully respect him because Conquest is obviously a very violence driven individual who almost never demonstrates any other sort of thought out loud.

Because the thing about Viltrumites is that they don't only value strength. They also favor soldiers who are equal enough in strength and smarts, it's the reason why Anissa and Kregg were beside Thragg's throne and not Conquest.

And I know he's probably knowledgeable enough about technology that he can repair his arm by himself, but as I said before Conquest lets nobody, and I mean nobody see this side or really any other side of him that isn't the living nuke that the Viltrumite Empire needs to conquer (I ALMOST SAID THE THING!!!!) the rest of the galaxy.

To the rest of the Viltrumites, there is nothing more to Conquest. He's a mindless beast meant to be controlled and nothing more. The lower rank Viltrumites might be scared of him but the higher ranked ones??? They know him enough to know that he's all bite and no bark which makes him significantly less threatening.

Again, I'm really interested in the idea that Conquest is considered intellectually inferior (and possibly lower ranked than Lucan because of it now that I'm thinking about it??? Not a jab at Lucan btw) for a Viltrumite because we only really see him being feared.

Like people actively despise him lol. Between this panel and that flashback from Guarding the Globe I really think everyone just hates his ass😭
