So my dad was born and raised in Austria. We went to visit family a fair amount when I was growing up and we would always stay, not just in the same B&B, but in the same room at said B&B. This room had wood paneling and the small kids bed that I slept in was pushed into a corner. A fair ways up the wall was a knot in the wood that looked like a gnome. I stg for the first 3-4 days of the trip I would inevitably be so jetlagged that the Knot Gnome would try to talk to me. I never actually heard anything tho. Still. I miss the Knot Gnome.
