āYep.ā
Taking another swig of the apple juice, he filled himself another glass before resting his elbows on his knees, clasping his hands loosely. Briefly he noted the streak of white in her otherwise dark hair,Ā āYours looks pretty cool. Mine was kind ofā¦mousy brown when I was a kid? Then it went silver first when I was aboutā¦ten or so when my powers first kicked in. The white is only something thatās really come in over the past decade or so if Iām honest. Kinda miss the silver.ā
His lips quirked a little at her obvious curiosity and he nodded. It had taken him a while to get accustomed to the speed when it had first kicked in, often leaving him disoriented and feeling ill, but now it was something that he wasnāt sure he could function without, as much a part of him as anything else.
āIāve been known to regularly break the sound barrier, run across water and be an excellent asset in quick evacuations.ā
Rogue lifted herself up onto the counter opposite and sat herself down on her gloved hands, her legs swinging back and forth idly. SheĀ couldnāt help but look impressed as he described his powers.Ā āWow, thatās pretty neat.ā she said, complimenting him.Ā āI bet youāve travelled to all sortsāa places. Thatās what Iād do, if I could run that fast. Iād go allĀ āround the world explorinā.āĀ
She paused to think for a moment, wondering how far he could run without tiring himself out. āYou ever tried doinā a lap of the world?ā Rogue asked inquisitively.Ā āDāyou think you could do it?āĀ
āMostly what I do these days if Iām honest. Sometimes the Prof asks me to do things for him if he knows Iām heading somewhere specific. Check in on people and situations, that sort of thing,ā Peter nodded in agreement, idly noting the gloves on her hands but making no mention of them or that heād noticed them. Sure, he was nosy as hell, but he had a little bit of tact these days. Just a little bit.
āTheoretically itās probably possible, providing nothing got in the way and I had a decent meal beforehand. My metabolism is crazy fast as well so I have to eat a ton to keep myself going sometimes. On the plus side I heal pretty quickly too, although the downside of that is that standard painkillers and that sort of thing arenāt worth much when it comes to me.ā
