so basicallyyyy, we've been plural for a while, we thought we already HAD headmates, but we feel like we've given up on them and we're just faking now guh!! we thought we had what, 14 headmates already?
so, we wanna be able to get everydog to develop their own independence, but we're so bad with motivation. we wanna take small steps, but also we're really impatient... guh, can anyone help with ideas to develop our headmates? ok bye thank you all!

how to form headmates
this is not gonna have any links to my olf posts as. i cannot find them, sadly, so. you're getting my own unfiltered writing. and now;;;;;
brainmade
with brainmade headmates, you start off like they're ocs in a way. you write down their name, pronouns, personality, likes, dislikes, appearance, etc., or just use a bah/baa (build a headmate/build an alter) blog on tumblr.
introjects
with introjects, it's easier. you already have a base for your new headmate and you can go from there. or, as i said, use a bah/baa blog.
how to form them?
after creating the base for your headmate, help them latch on to an identity. talk to them, involve them in your daily tasks and, if you'd like to, roleplay as them, to help them understand better. when your headmate starts responding in a way you can't control, they're starting to actually form. if they still can't switch in (p.s., switching feels different for everywan. for me it feels more like the headmate is posessing me and i kind of turn into the headmate), try pretending to be them a little more. that should help.
is that it?
not yet. i have to say, forming your first alters may take a while. the first alter may take months to form—our first one, Aziraphale, who you've probably seen me mention before, took us 1 and a half (as far as i remember? may be more may be less) months to form. after that, the time gets shorter and shorter, and months go to weeks, and weeks go to days, and that helps you create them.
helpful things
if you use discord, i recommend using pluralkit && tupperbox (although pluralkit is better for systems) to keep track of your system && show who's fronting to friends or a server. for apps... i don't currently have any good recommendations. simply plural && octocon are shutting down, as well as ampersand being on the edge to shut down as well. i don't have any good recommendations for now sadly. for websites, i believe ourcana (android you can get it on i think? i'm not sure) is great.
We haven’t posted on this account in a while because we’re SO BUSY but we wanted to interact with the plural community again because we’re having some issues with figuring ourselves out :p. Remus, Spike, and I specifically are figuring out if we’re one person or multiple and it’s proving to be difficult. We feel like we’re tangled up in so many layers of doubt and hope and confusion that it’s impossible to tell.
Despite this, we’re doing pretty well! We’re still trying to explain our plurality to our therapist, but every time we explain our experience it feels like we’re lying/exaggerating even though we think we’re telling the truth. We’re probably gonna tell some more people we know irl to help with this.

your plural identity is inherently valid. if you say you are plural, then you are plural and have a right to be here. why or how you're plural does not really matter at all, as all plurality is valid regardless. and that includes your plurality as well.
