Saw this quote:   "You can be in a relationship for 2 years and feel nothing; you could be in a relationship for 2 weeks and feel everything. Time is not a measure of love."  Well people, the reason you feel "everything" after 2 weeks(or 2 months) is because of chemicals in your brain that are released when you are with someone NEW.  That's largely why the first part of a relationship is known as the "honeymoon" phase...because everything is fucking wonderful and you are so unbelievably happy.  But that has nothing to do w/ love. The real measure of love is how willing you are to rekindle those feelings from a non-chemical basis once that chemical fog subsides.  That spark is clearly necessary at the beginning, but in the end, ALL lasting meaningful relationships take effort from both people.  That is how true love is built and maintained. If you just look to ride that chemical wave, you're gonna crash and burn every time.
