i'm a bit late to this as i haven't been as active on tumblr.. but i wanted to talk about this. the madonna-whore complex is a complex where the man with it will see women as madonnas or whores, simply put. it's important to miki's character, imo, as he sees anthy as the saint-like madonna & kozue as a whore. he replaces kozue with more madonna-ish features in his memories, making her closer to anthy as thats what he desires. when in the reality of their relationship he acts more cruel to her, and theres also the aspect of kozue's sexuality, where she is implied to have sex with touga & her respective relationship with akio + the scene of her and anthy in the car during his duel challenges his beliefs all together. this all furthers mikis belief of her 'whorishness'. its his character being the 'good male' where he actually views women closer to how the 'toxic males' do.

Rgu is a fundamentally anti-marriage show. It’s quite literally entire point that marriage is a cruel and misogynistic system that encourages abuse and oppression. But please consider: They are incredibly stupid and traumatized. and codependent. Logic would not stop them. It’s doomed from the start. Anthy’s already released kangaroo’s at their wedding.
