As Tiki’s adolescence continued, she and Bantu kept up their usual pattern: a few years at a time in different, remote villages, popping all over Archanea, and then Valentia, and then back into Archanea again. She met so many people, visited so many places, and learned a great deal, but…when the baker’s son, blushing, offered her a flower, she turned away, even though his eyes were soft and dark and she felt like she could lose herself in them. When a kind girl who worked up at the castle took her hand and asked if she’d like to have a picnic together, Tiki said no, even if it took everything she had to tug her hand free from that gentle, hesitant grip. When her best friend kissed her during a fireworks show, she’d kissed back at first. Then she’d realized, and pulled back in horror, and ran, and told Bantu they needed to leave that very night. It hurt too much. And, eventually, she had buried too many, and the pain was too great, and she couldn’t even bear the weight of having friends at all. So Tiki stayed locked up in Bantu’s rented cottages and apartments, and she never went to any of the village schools, and people whispered about the reclusive girl staying with her old grandfather, poor sickly thing. (READ ON AO3)

The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship - Team Rocket and Mimikyu

I see a lot of #PokeaniCasuals who are showing interest in Alola & a good number of them have talked about Team Rocket getting Mimikyu, so for anyone who doesn’t actually watch the anime but enjoys knowing wtf is going on in it, here’s a fun little post where I gush about just how fucking good this is.

(obviously there’s no subs yet, but here’s what I know)

Mimikyu is not at all the woobie the internet interpreted it as, which I am grateful for, for a ghost/fairy

It’s out for pikachu’s damn blood, snobby as fuck in what pokeball it allows itself to be caught in, and sounds like a hissing, sputtering hellspawn.

It’s entire motive for allying with Team Rocket initially is that it has an excuse to beat the everloving shit out of pikachu.

And it DOES. Mimikyu might be TR’s strongest Pokemon yet (besides Wobbuffet, but Jessie doesn’t actually understand the physical/special split, so she doesn’t battle with him)

“I like that they got a mimikyu, but it’s self esteem is going to be so bad with pikachu always tearing it down…”

NO! Mimikyu is so powerful & excels so hard at kicking the shit out of Ash’s pikachu that blastoffs no longer exist. Team Rocket cannot get flung into the sky because Ash cannot land a hit on them.

So now instead of blasting off, Bewear shows up and carries them all away.

Meowth could hear all the awful shit mimikyu was saying and was immediately terrified, Jessie was like “scary??? I think it’s cute!” and spent the whole episode relentlessly pursuing it with a wild look in her eyes.

Mimikyu is too good for normal pokeballs and kept swatting Jessie’s away.

Jessie stole James’ fucking 10 dollar luxury ball from his pokeball collection and only then did mimikyu agree that was befitting for it.
