The winners of the game of Capitalism are clear, so why don't we play a new game?
Society has been all about growth, expansion, and colonization for the past two centuries, perhaps longer. In that game, the winners were whoever could be the most ruthless, whoever could convince everyone that they deserved what they took. It was whoever had the strongest imperative to beat other people over the head and shoot them in the back. And then, it was whoever could convince people that they needed to work under them either out of threat of harm or vague promises of a reward some time in the distant future.
It is clear who the winners of these games are.
It is clear that there aren't going to be any other winners besides those who are the most ruthless.
Are these people that we want running our world? Evidently not...
So then why do we continue to reinforce them as powerful, as the ones in charge?
Why don't we all decide to play a new game?
Lets all think of some new rules, together. Lets decide them out of love this time, less fear this time. Let us think of our Mother Earth, Gaia, and all of the wonderful things she has brought into being. Lets think of our roots as a people, as an Earth of people.
I want to build a new world with new rules. Don't you?

Discourse is the killer of revolution.
Like, 'they', the ones at the top who benefit from the system, 'they' CANNOT fight us ALL if we decided to come together. So, we're stuck fighting these stupid culture wars about who deserves what and who needs more help.
The conversations can and will happen once the new world is built. But the war has to stop first.
Now.
This system is killing us all, and the fighting against one another...
it's got to stop.
We need SOLUTIONS, not DISCOURSE.
The algorithms that run our shared cognitive space, our shared collective inter-net... these things are not some ineffable thing.
The algorithm *ain't* something that can be won over.
The algorithm is this: its our shared human values, our shared love and our shared hate. It bends to what is on the collective mind, and banishes to the shadow what society tends to like to avoid. It brings to light our fears and our anguish, and it brings to light the ways that we divide ourselves, because talking about those things is what is important to all of us right now.
So lets use some imagination.
What if we talked about things that were hopeful?
What if we talked about ways in which we helped our communities?
What if we talked about the beauty of the sun filtering through the window, even on a hot summer day?
What if we decided that beautiful things, not superficial; TRULY beautiful things were what mattered to us, collectively?
What if we decided that everyone looked beautiful, or had aspects of themselves that were beautiful?
I think the algorithm would have no choice but to bend to that collective decision.
It'd be as E.Z. as like, share, tweet!
Sharing the things we love, and want to see more of... I think that's how we break AI. I think that's how we break the algorithm. I think... that's how we come to see one another as humans worth living amongst and saving our living planet for.
...Please?
Each week, I do a tarot and oracle reading in my newsletter Tarot Tribune for insights on how we can support each other through these crises we’re living through, and build a better world.

What is the current situation?
★ Strength reversed & Transition
Due to this heat dome traveling the world right now, we are all being directly confronted with the fact that we cannot rugged-individualism ourselves out of the climate crisis. We have so little control over what happens on the planet due to over 100 years of the greenhouse gas effect happening, and being made worse with every new trend, new war, new genocide, new deforestation, new Silicon Valley investment, and new break against a treaty with Indigenous peoples. The climate crisis mostly effects those who are the least to blame as well, and there’s a sense of a lack of control and autonomy there as well. How are we supposed to take care of each other when the land is being killed?
Yes, the climate crisis does affect our individual aspirations, and if we want to manifest our wildest dreams, we need to create a world that those dreams can be manifested into at all. There’s a lot of anger in individualist societies surrounding that fact, that our wishes won’t just be granted, that things aren’t going the way we were told they’re “supposed to”. Can you tell I’m an American living in America? Lol.
We are all being confronted with the questions: How will this transformational moment transform us? Are we going to be transformed into cowards, or stewards? What opportunity is here for us to seize and transform our daily lives as we know them?
What are we realizing?
★ Ace of Swords & Animals
We are realizing the importance of ecosystems and how fragile the balance of them is, and how much that balance effects us. If you’ve been working in ecology for any length of time, or been following climate experts, I know I’m preaching to the choir here. But shockingly, soooooo many people have been apathetic to ecosystems because of their short sightedness. If extinction would’ve immediately hurt their paychecks, investments, and peaceful safe homes, they would’ve cared a lot sooner. The attitude of many has been “So what? They’re just animals” due to their disconnection and entitlement over the land. A new wave of people seem to finally be getting it, why our animal relatives are as important as us. As easy as it is to be angry with them, invite them in to learn about ecology, then tell them why you’re angry once they know what a food web is.
This coming week, or soon (or maybe it’s already happened and hasn’t come around my corner of the internet yet), there will probably be a viral animal photo or video, or historic moment with an animal, or a newly beloved animal. I’m thinking along the lines of the starving polar bears, Laika, Koko the Gorilla, Moo Deng, and Punch the Macaque.
What needs our urgent attention?
★ Queen of Swords & Death and Rebirth
We need to pay close attention to women’s rights. This is a great time to learn about matrifocal societies (browngirlpride has a good video on it, look to experts like her). What is the state of women in leadership? Are they being pushed out? Are only the most conservative, right-wing, patriarchal, ruthless women being given power? What is the state of the reproductive rights movement? Are there new calls to action where you live? What is happening with women’s right to vote? Whatever is more relevant to your country or state, act on it now. These systems are being corrupted (and most have always been against women’s rights), so don’t fear their death. Be part of their rebirth.

What do we need to do collectively?
★ Hierophant reversed & Safety
From the Atlantic article “Pope Leo’s July 4 Message to America Was Unmistakable” by Francis X. Rocca
This morning, Pope Leo XIV visited the southern Mediterranean island of Lampedusa, where he laid flowers at the graves of migrants who had died trying to reach Europe. Leo compared them to the man who fell among thieves in the Gospel parable of the Good Samaritan. “Here you have seen not just one but thousands of human beings fallen into the hands of robbers who have taken everything from them, beat them brutally, and walked away, leaving them half-dead,” the pope said. He called on his listeners to act like the biblical benefactor: “We become neighbors by acting as neighbors.”
Now, I’m not here to lionize Pope Leo, that man isn’t our savior, he’s a man with massive power sometimes saying extremely important messages, and sometimes making harmful decisions (like with Catholic hospitals offering less care for trans people). This message is one we must act on now. I know many people have been organizing and talking about community for over a year now. But if you haven’t done so, or there are still a lot of people in your circle isolating themselves, this is the time to get off your butt, or drag others off there’s. Potlucks and craft days aren’t the only way. You can organize a documentary screening or workshops on civic education and engagement. So many people don’t know the basic stuff. You can do a series of workshops and still make them fun (snacks help). Even if you aren’t an expert, do you know how many webinars are posted to YouTube by experts? I have one linked in the post at the bottom of this newsletter linked as “how to get FLOCK out of your town”.
There’s a lot of ways to resist these horrific human rights abuses against migrants, so there’s many different ways to grab people’s attention. Do they like tech? Talk to them about data privacy and the digital bill of rights movement. Do they like animals? Talk to them about how police and state violence harm pets. Do they like gardening? Talk about permaculture and self sufficient communities. Find your “in” topic with the apathetic or scared people in your life. And if you know an expert in anything, get them involved in helping end these human rights abuses using their expertise (even if their expertise initially seems irrelevant, it’s probably not).
What do we need to do individually?
★ Death & Emotions
Generally, we need to do two things: address the death of our emotions, and giving up the myth of what we thought life was supposed to be. Addressing the death of our emotions brings us back to our humanity, increasing our ability to connect, and ends our loneliness. Giving up the myth of what we thought life was supposed to be (like the American Dream) lets us allow life to be what it is. When we allow this, we ultimately empower ourselves to make the choices we need. And like we see in the artwork of these 2 cards, the sunrise, we have a shot at making heaven on Earth.
How can we do this in the most effective way?
★ Ace of Pentacles & Speak Your Truth
We can do what we need to do collectively and individually by listening to experts and by offering up our own expertise. Don’t discount your expertise because you don’t have a PhD or aren’t working in a particular field. If you have direct life experience, or “just” a Bachelor’s degree, that counts! What’s obvious to you probably isn’t to other people. And people, especially in America, are so under educated. So speaking out and sharing your knowledge and truth is crucial in this time. Again, especially if it seems obvious to you. There’s also something to do about gardening here. I know gardening has loads of health benefits, especially mental ones, so that makes sense with the need to connect with emotions. And of course, helping to run a community garden is very important to meet collective needs. I also think though, that gardening, farming, and ecosystem management content will start to become more popular. Even if your content doesn’t have to do with any of that, using B-roll footage of you working with the land as you talk about your expertise will probably be very effective in getting your message across.
What do we need to keep in mind moving forward?
★ Knight of Swords & Human
So, we’re all feeling things A LOT right now. And we have a lot on our hearts and minds to express. All of this is good! And also, also also also, being self righteous about it isn’t going to help the situation and give the results that we need. But, if you find your fuse being very short with people, don’t be too punishing towards yourself about it. We’re only human. Say “my bad, I’m sorry”, and learn from there. If you’re pretty good about emotional regulation and power trips, monitor yourself for impulsiveness and jumping to conclusions.
What is stirring or lurking beneath the surface that we need to keep an eye on?
★ 6 of Wands & Break Free
I’m not 100% sure of what I’m picking up from these cards. Initially I was spit balling something about billionaires doing another big project to flex their wealth, and it maybe will have something to do with space again. Or something to do with the Hopi prophecy, or a new level of egregious disrespect for international law. But now as I’m sitting down to write again on Sunday July 5th, I’m wondering if this has to do with rich people moving, due to climate change. Gentrification and the climate refugee situation might start to escalate right around now. So organizing to protect against gentrification and to protect the right to cross borders and seek asylum is very important right now. This is a long game of course, but start being alert about this.
Also, after the white nationalist rally in DC recently, there’s something happening with the America First movement. Either it’s growing larger because of this rally, or there’s another thing being planned. Maybe both. Or, other white nationalist groups in different countries are feeling emboldened to hold their own big rallies. Regarding the America First movement, I suggest listening to what Naomi Klein has to say on what to do about it.
What’re the good things we don’t realize are happening?
★ Fool reversed & Love
Thankfully, there is a new level of maturity in our relationships and how we connect with each other. A new standard of what a healthy relationship is solidifying. Like knowing when harm is being done against you vs you got your feelings hurt. Many more people know now what having capacity really is vs when you’re using therapy speak to be a coward. We’re starting up for people even when it feels inconvenient to us. Love makes the world go ‘round, and more of us are embodying it.
What is the blessing to come if we take the advice?
★ 4 of Wands & Change Direction
If we work to protect women’s rights, address migrant rights abuses, heal the death of our emotions, accept that the American Dream (or anything similar) isn’t real, share our expertise, garden and steward the land, mind our impulsiveness and self righteousness (watch your mouth in the comments section), and watch out for increased gentrification, borders closing even more, and preventing more white nationalists from having rallies (or humiliating them at the rallies), we will have safety. We’ll have safer homes, neighborhoods, and communities. We won’t have to hold our breaths anymore, we can exhale. We’ll have communities where people can actually trust each other. Our communities will be different than what many have some to expect communities to be, but the unexpected change is the blessing, and brings the blessing.
A closing message from Mother Earth
★ Page of Pentacles & Mythic
According to a leading climate expert Katherine Hayhoe, talking about anthropogenic climate change is the most effective way to do climate healing. So start yapping!! Every time you think about climate change, talk about it with someone, or on a post, or in your stories, or in your projects. And MOST IMPORTANTLY: You must share your optimism. Talk to and educate the young people in your lives about ecology, community resilience, decolonization, solidarity, history, gardening/permaculture, and citizen lobbying. Learn with them about the history of climate scientists and resistance against colonialism and destruction of ecosystems, and what our ancestors advise we do through their stories. Be mindful though that they don’t become too depressed to act. They need to know a better life, a better now, and a better future actually IS possible.

[images: series of tweets from @realavocadofact. tweets read, “they’re not elite they’re rich”, “they’re not better they’re better supplied”, “they’re not smarter or faster they’re buying up others’ lifetimes to do their chores”, “there is nothing wrong with you; you’re doing your best in a game rigged against you, probably not enough people and fruit tell you that”]
I see this reaction a lot, and I gotta say, it always makes me a little sad. Whenever the conversation of exploitation of labor comes up, inevitably someone finds themselves struggling with the guilt of “It is so important to me not to contribute to exploitation but I cannot do this thing myself and need someone else to do it for me, so how do I even approach that?”
Exploitation isn’t in the hiring of a service worker. Exploitation is in the respect you show them for their ability to perform the service you need from them.
I have been on a cleaning service staff before, and also been someone who hired a cleaning service, and I can tell you for sure that a lot of cleaning crews (especially worker owned ones) absolutely LOVE their clients and are genuinely happy to be able to make their lives better. The clients they don’t like? Those are the ones who disrespect the workers.
When I was involved with a cleaning service, we had everything from little old ladies living alone to McMasions with five cars as clients, and I can assure you that whenever there was someone who clearly hired us because they were overwhelmed or unable to keep their space clean, those were the households where you put a little more elbow grease in and did a deep clean even when it wasn’t paid for, because you could see how much these people were trying and struggling, and they were always so kind and generous and often embarrassed when talking to you about the job.
I only hired a service a couple if times in my life, but whenever I did, I worked with the same people as often as I could, tipped as well as I could afford, and tried to be the kind of client I would want to have, and that’s how I often ended up with my baseboards cleaned too, or my fridge scrubbed and organized or a restorative clean done in a high use room even when that wasn’t what I had scheduled or paid for.
I’ve heard the same thing from all manner of service workers over the years. Many of us like our jobs! We enjoy the work. It’s the customers that can do a number on you.
I think a lot of people are afraid that by needing a service they are inherently exploiting or harming the people who perform that service, and they really aren’t. But it does benefit a capitalist system for us to all be burnt out and overwhelmed because we’re too afraid to hire the help we need. Be upfront and honest with service workers about what you need and why you need it, and treat them with dognity and kindness while they perform your service, and I promise you they will always be happy to answer your call.
As I understand it, the world we are in is ruled by the use of the lower mind.
A common depiction of devils, malevolent extraterrestrials, and of evil in general, is that of the reptile. This seems to be a common archetype for things that we consider to be 'evil'. Snakes and worms too, slithering sinister silent suspicious things they are, like in the snake in the Garden of Eden or a Vril worm; they also fit this archetype.
We call the lower-mind - survival impulses - we call this the 'reptile mind'. It is solely focused on individual survival. The seven deadly sins, and I heard someone recently say that all of them were basically akin to the one, lust - these are used by devils and demons to convince people to do things.
Secondly, the economy we find ourselves in is based on the exploitation of our emotions, especially outrage. The algorithms sort us into different camps and feed us content about how our part of the camp is being exploited. We become suspicious of our friends, family, and neighbors. We are overrun by bots and AI telling us how to think, what to feel, and because we want to fit in with consensus for our survival, we fall into these traps.
Think about the last thing you engaged with on the internet that left you feeling good after you stepped away. Most of it now is intended to either engage your energy-motion in a negative fashion (hence, the New-Age concept of loosh harvesting), or sell you solutions to that which don't actually work.
So many people are walking around with nervous systems on fire, inflamed. Inflammation makes people sick, and the engaging of your lower mind to constantly keep you in fight-or-flight does not actually give you the mental capacity to organize and come up with planned solutions.
The lower mind understands the world in simple terms, black-and-white thinking. It makes it easier for us to sort one another in camps that we can attack, because then maybe that'll make the pain go away. But that can't possibly be the solution, right?
=================================================
So, how do we engage with logic?
Sit down. Breathe. Slow your breath. Meditate on your surroundings. What needs to happen is conversation and organization, but this won't work by engaging with people angrily, despairingly, panicked.
We need to think.
How do we organize? We have so many platforms that can connect anyone anywhere. With some simple code and a bit of expertise, anyone can create any sort of website.
What do people need? If things were to go down, hoarding up on supplies isn't a good solution when a desperate person can raid you (out of fear) or when you eventually run out of supplies. There needs to be a dialogue, a sharing of knowledge and resources. This is how you keep your village alive, and the more people alive in an emergency is better. In collapse, you may not know how to stitch up a wound if your kid gets injured, but someone does.
What places are safe? Having/knowing of a place, or several places in a community where people can gather and organize is going to be far more beneficial to people than arguing about which group ought to be in charge right now. Again, this needs to be a dialogue. People need to communicate.
I don't proclaim to be a saint in the category of communication myself. It is something I am working on, and that is what is important, that some work is there. It need not be perfect at first - perfection kills possibility. But this world we're in, everyone screaming in every direction (if indeed there are people at all) - that isn't going to work. That isn't going to save us.
This is... the most important thing there is in the world we are in now. Learning the manipulation and searching for truth instead of outrage... that's where we ought to be.

I've seen many different communities online, and in person. I'm Black, I'm Queer, and I'm on the spectrum, so I've seen communities associated with these groups and intersections between these identities as well.
My friend is Black and Queer and fem. She is of the opinion that it is not the work of people like (our)selves to fight against the systems that are in place, and that those who are more privileged, it is their responsibility to learn about the issues she deals with and act accordingly.
But she cares for her friends, and she shares the things she knows, and she does what she can with what she has, which isn't much.
I don't think it is for her to fight and educate others, then. She has enough on her plate as it is.
---
I see white queers, disabled peoples, and neurodivergent peeps on here with much the same mindset. It isn't their work to educate those who are more privileged, they've done so much of it already and it hasn't worked, and they are fighting an uphill battle.
I'm not sure what kind of circumstances y'all have. It's not my place to say whether the things you believe are 'true', should there be any such thing. But should it not be the work of those who are disadvantaged to fight up against the system that puts them down so...
---
I see the rednecks and hillbillys, the people still flying trump flags, the middle class people struggling to afford their cookie-cutter houses. So deeply integrated within them is the mindset of the american dream, of independence, of bald eagles flying overhead as they ride off into the sunset to achieve the manifest destiny. One day, one day, they think.
I see the grindset bros, the manosphere dudes, so deeply brainwashed by patriarchy and capitalism that they think the world is their own. They will have it, they are sure; one day, one day, they think (or, even worse, they walk through the world as nihilists and zombies. Whats up with that???)
The queers and the disabled and the people of color, failed by the system, scream and scream out again against these people since time began; 'This system doesn't work! Don't you see?? [We need to change it]'! But brainwashed still, by the media, by the government, by the lies they spew about the marginalized being 'lazy' and 'not working hard enough' and 'stupid' and 'entitled' and 'woke' - yes, we are going to be so goddamn tired about trying to fight an uphill battle against this system that makes us all more and more hostile.
---
It was hot as shit yesterday. I went to the store, for I do have the privilege of a car and meager savings. I bought my neighbors two packs of water. Today, one of them is gone, and the other one is quickly being torn through.
I listened to a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KalbsYLA2qA) today about community. Everyone wants to be in a village, but no-one wants to be a villager.
So, this is my question: Who will do the work of being a villager?
None of us have to be great at it. Fuck, i'm still learning how to talk to people without it being laced with mistrust and passive-aggressiveness.
But it... has to start somewhere.
I don't know. Love thy neighbor or something, some bullshit like that, Jesus said that or something. But it's true. It's hard, the man got crucified for it, but its true. The meek shall inherit the earth, but only if they learn how to work together for it.
When I was a teenager, I was suicidal. I felt purposeless, directionless, in a world spinning itsself to its grave.
I sit here now, in the heat, on what might be the hottest days of the year, waiting for the scraps of a company that could care less about me to hit my account so that I can feed myself.
I felt without purpose, and I saw the world so clearly.
I was learning.
I was learning that my purpose here was not to perpetuate this system by having some ordinary job and toiling endlessly in this regard. I knew I couldn't. The thought made me so damn miserable.
I'm here to build the new world, and that...
I can see it. There's no other way to go at this point. The ship is going down, and the only way forward is the sky (metaphorically, and zodiacally, as in Pisces into Aquarius).
