Crying as I'm typing this. You guys, in a few short days, Heartstopper Season 2 finally airs, and I can not put into words how unbelievably excited I am. The love I have for this wonderful universe Alice created is out of this world. Nick and Charlie mean so much to me. Every single thing that even remotely resembles Heartstopper, from the comics to the netflix series, the music and actors... just absolutely e.ve.ry.thing, my God, I'm so ready. Happy Heartstopper week, everyone! Time for a dozen re-watches of s1, re-reading the comics until it's FINALLY Thursday, and we all get to fall in love over again. ♡
how was the process of exploring isaac's story this season for you? considering that he exists solely on the tv show, was it different for you to create a character directly on script and not on comic format or from other source materials? how was that experience?

It was actually really fun to get to create a whole new story and not have to be referring back to existing canon! (Which is a big part of the reason why Isaac replaced Aled... I can do what I want with Isaac's story!) I really enjoyed writing his story :)

i hate it when people hate on heartstopper for being "cringy" or "unrealistic" LIKE DUH thats the point its supposed to be a sappy love story
True! The amount of criticism queer romance receives for being cringe, unrealistic.... But guess what? We have decades of romance content featuring straight couples, that is also full of cringe and completely unrealistic, and a lot of them are considered classic films. So, I don't see any reason on why queer romance should be criticized based on different standards.

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.
and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.
