I am breaking my years-long silence on tumblr to say that Chris Carter is LITERALLY a giant, festering ball of utter, monstrous shit who hates his fans.

He returned from peridea and chose to stylistically change himself to look more like he had when he was a teenager.

Ezra changed the way he looked after his return to closer match the version of himself that people had lost.

The Suits

The loose-fitting suits which bag at all the right places like they should are so much more appealing to me than modern, tightly-tailored suits. Strikes me as perfect for a romantic noir lead, which is of course what he and Scully are. The way he slings those hips forward, tie a little loose, jacket fronts tucked behind his forearms. That’s not even mentioning the Coats™. 

If you ask me about the ties, well, don’t, because you don’t want to hear my answer. I’m the kind of person who thinks every (harmless) thing about the person they love is endearing, no matter how stupid or annoying or seemingly deliberately inflammatory (maybe he rlly did pick those ties just to mess with people).

Casual Mulder

There was the time in early seasons where Mulder was the civilized world’s most vocal advocate for washed out double denim ensembles, and I wholly, passionately support that endeavour.

Unfortunately, Mulder goes full middle-aged white dad who got really into shorty-shorts and race-walking in the 80s whenever he goes exercising. But you know what!!! I stan! I’m not a quitter!! Show off those arms, baby, you didn’t swim all those laps in your low-resistance speedo slip for nothing.

Never forget the time he dressed like Lesbian Icon Bruce Springsteen and we all went cuckoo for coco pops over a pair of blue jeans. There’s the classic and extremely handsome leather jacket look, which also happens to be a harbinger for a night of unpredictable course (not necessarily in a bad way...but often).

The sweaters....what can I say about the sweaters. I want this man to live in a log cabin with me, shake off his rain jacket at the threshold and sit by the fire to warm his hands. I make him a tea. He tells me he found evidence of primeval organ harvesting suggestive of enduring and barbaric mothmen activity in the dense wood beyond our little abode. We kiss and go to bed.

Really, though, I think the fact that fox mulder can sport a $2000 armani suit and a $2 left-handed scissors haircut and make it work says everything you need to know.

I believe that I sat in a motel room like this with you when we first met and I tried to convince you of the truth. And in that respect, I succeeded, but…in every other way…I failed.

Mulder, you say that you’ve failed but you only fail if you give up. And I know you – you can’t give up. It’s what I saw in you when we first met. It’s what made me follow you…why I’d do it all over again.
