❧   born and raised in denver, henley’s a cradle witch with a preference for physical magic. her home was stable and healthy despite how unstable she sometimes can be. she was always active and talkative as a child, would never really stop for a second - her emotions often too strong and a heavy trigger for her magic. she learned the hard way that she had to control her emotions if she wanted to control her magic.

❧  it didn’t always go as planned, however, and still doesn’t. she’s very controlled for the most part and bottles all her emotions up inside of herself and it’s only when they explode and she can’t take it anymore that she becomes a risk - and so she hurts herself to quiet down her proverbial demons before her magic can harm another person.

❧  when henley was seventeen, the strangest thing happened. her father came home, killed her mother and then himself - and it never made sense to henley. they were happy, they never argued, they were good people. what was it that so suddenly made bartley graves snap? she doesn’t know, but she wants to find out.

❧  after her parents died, henley was under the care of her grandmother, who took good care of her until a year later when she, too, passed away - this time just an ordinary, natural death. she was eighteen and alone - and full of rage.

❧  it’s been six months since she’s moved from denver in the united states to nova pangaea in hopes that things will be better and different, in search of herself. 

𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖉 𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘

❧  𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒  -  henley doesn’t discriminate between species - she just sees people, so friends of any species would be welcome. she’s a bit guarded and fears vulnerability so a deeper connection can sometimes be difficult to form for her, but perhaps a few people she has or may learn to trust? any gender.

❧  𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐘  -  a frenemy situation would be fun for her! maybe they’re a push and pull kind of thing, stuck between feeling love and hate for each other, bicker quite often but when it comes down to it there’s much more affection there than they think and somehow they’re always having each other’s backs. one spot only, any gender.

❧  𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐄  -  perhaps a fellow witch who notices some of her behaviors and offers her some sort of guidance to help her learn control? she’s probably a little reluctant at first just because she finds it difficult to trust people, but she’s also so afraid of what her magic may make her do that she desperately wants to learn control, and so she accepts. one spot only, any gender.

Six months and she still feels like a stranger in a country she hopes can some day feel like home. Six months and the alleys still feel like they just might close in on her, like the ground just might swallow her, like the streets just might spit her out. Six months and this place still doesn’t feel like home, but Henley isn’t too sure anywhere does - hopes some day it just might. Or maybe some people were never meant to find a home.

Lost in thought as she sits on a bench, staring blankly ahead, the cup of coffee in her hand remains heated as she concentrates her magic in the palm of her hand. Stranger walks past and Henley barely notices until she catches sight of an object on the ground, eyebrows pulling together in a frown and she reaches forward to pick it up. “Hey!” She calls out, walking a little faster to catch up. “Hey, you dropped this.”
