The last book I read - I just finished Sanity, Madness, and the Family by R.D. Laing and A. Esterson. I would highly recommend especially if you take a more anti-psychiatry standpoint as it looks at schizophrenia as being a social phenomenon rather than a "mental disorder."

A book I couldn't put down - Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. This is an amazing book and basically changed my life.

A favorite book from childhood - The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. I love this book so much and it's probably part of the reason why I'm so strange and annoying.

A book I'd give to a friend - The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu

A book of poetry or lyrics I own - I own poetry collections of Anne Sexton, T.S. Eliot, Walt Whitman, Dylan Thomas, and R.D. Laing as well as a collection of poems by several womanist poets.

A non-fiction book that I own - Travels with Charley in Search of America by John Steinbeck

What I'm currently reading - A History of God by Karen Armstrong. It discusses the history of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam and how these religions and their beliefs and doctrines developed over time. It's a really interesting read if you're at all interested in religious history.

What I plan on reading next - I'm about to start the Eighth Tower by John Keel. He was the author of The Mothman Prophecies and researched "high strangeness" phenomena. This is supposed to be his most inaccessible book but I've heard it's very good so I'm going to give it a try.
