Hell Yeah Tangled

These designs seem oddly familiar to something we’ve seen recently…

To celebrate the return of Varian to Tangled the Series this Sunday I thought I’d post some early development as well as my final model for our favorite Alchemist!  Shane Prigmore started the ball rolling and I took his design and came up with the final.  Even from an early stage we thought this character was going to be special and as I was drawing him I was having pipe dreams of seeing cosplayers at conventions dressed as Varian.  I specifically added the goggles to give him a signature element for that goal.  So seeing that dream realized at D23 with so many amazing Varians was a real thrill!  We’ve got great plans for Varian and I’m sure your all gonna love him in “Great Expotations” this Sunday July 30th!

So, the Eugene (I refuse to call him Flynn when he was a child) Animator Doll is available at my local Disney Store! He’s even cuter in person, and the art Byron Howard drew for his design is just precious! ♥
