i had to take a break from the internet to take care of my mental health, i was planning to stay offline for just a week but it ended up being almost a month xD
but i'm better now, this was really necessary for me, i can see now how much i needed this
if anyone was worried because i once again disappeared for a few months, i was on a really long shutdown and really overwhelmed, in fact i think i'm still on the shutdown x-x
i thought i would be better after a week but well, i think i'll need more time, but i'm feeling better than before at least! i'm also not going to set a deadline for when i can be better because i couldn't meet the deadline and i ended up even worse than i was :')
i watched the new hb short eps (and i loved them, they are so funny) and i wrote down some things i want to talk about it later, but i'll wait until I get a little better to post
later today i want to make a mini theory/predictions of what might happen in the next ep of helluva and i'll probably go back on my break again

How do people look at Stolas, someone who was abused for his entire life, and think, "How dare he not know how to communicate perfectly?!" Like what is the thought process there?
FR! i never understand how people think he's not communicating properly on full moon and apology tour, with all his history of trauma i was expecting something much worse
but honestly i thought it was pretty decent, he tried and still trying his best. he was great at explaining what he wants and how he is feeling

That Blitz's chains in Truthseekers/Moxxie's Bad Trip/Blitzo's Bad Trip never go taut. At any point. The chains stay fully slack the entire time he is climbing up to Stolas.
This means that Stolas isn't pulling Blitz to him; Blitz is willingly, freely moving to Stolas of his own accord and free will at the slightest touch of the chains as Stolas reels in the slack.
I know we're all focused on the growth that needs to happen for Stolitz to become healthy and get properly together, but I keep seeing people totally dismiss any character growth so far and I think we should take a minute to appreciate that.
Blitzø:
has dropped the "I hate this whole thing and you attitude" towards Stolas (Pretty much right after Ozzie's if I'm remembering correctly)
has clearly worked on improving his relationships to Millie, Moxxie, and Loona (is noticeably kinder to Moxxie, is treating Loona more like her own person, not stalking people anymore)
has made up with Fizzaroli,
Has started to take accountability in Apology tour for how he's hurt many of his exes (mostly Verosika and Stolas)
Is learning to express some needs and issues (though not entirely positively and he does need to work much more on this)
Overall, he's acting more invested in improving the relationships he cares about and has stopped running away and holding certain people at arm's length.
Stolas:
Has learned to stand up for himself
Has stopped dirty talking at innappropriate times
Has dropped the infantilizing language towards Blitzø (though side note: he seems to have trouble applying this skill to other situations, which is a flaw we'll need to see addressed)
Comes to the conclusion the deal isn't right, and ends it, giving Blitzø a way to earth that's unrelated to him.
Is learning to express some of his needs and wants in a positive (nonsexual) way
Overall Stolas is learning to walk the tightrope between being completely self negating (his life with Stella) and completely selfish (his initial behavior with Blitzø) and is starting to find a balance. He's also taken accountability for the flaws he's been able to recognize and has changed his behaviour and tried to make up for them.
Like obviously we're nowhere close to being done the show, and both characters still have some growing to do, but the characters have already come a long way from episode one, and I wish it was acknowledged a bit more by the fandom

Sympathizing for a sympathetic character will make you be abused by a real predator.
Stolas is skinny. That makes him evil. And Stella raped him, that makes an evil bad laid. And Blitz, who spent an entire episode buying things to use on Stolas, was always ethusiastic about their nights together, and is literally changing BECAUSE he loves Stolas so much... secretly view him as a skinny bad laid.
They care so much for SA victims that they shame and victim blame one (and his fans) and shame skinny bodies (and as a proud stick, I say: Stolas is hot).

*cracks knuckles* okay. Let's go point by point here in response to the person in the screenshot.
"I don't care if I hurt his feelings" he's... He's a fictional character. He cannot have his feelings hurt by something a real life person says about him. You know that, right?... Right?
"he is a bad lay confirmed by both Stella..." He's gay. He's a homosexual. He's light in the loafers. A friend of Dorothy. He bats for the other team. He's a frequent user of the hanky code. If I need to explain to you why a gay man forced into a straight marriage might not be enthusiastic and great at the sex within that marriage, then we have much bigger issues at hand than a fictional character's morality. And I haven't even touched on the fact that Stella's description sure does make it sound like Stolas didn't even consent to the act to begin with. For someone claiming to care about SA victims, you sure do seem to be ignoring an actual SA occurrence just because you don't like the victim.
"... And Blitz" WHEN. Seriously, show me when. I can't think of a single time Blitz has ever said sex with Stolas is bad. He doesn't like his dirty talking, sure, but I can't recall him ever saying the sex itself was bad. In fact, the opposite is true. He certainly seemed excited to be meeting up with Stolas in The Full Moon and he basically begged Stolas to keep their arrangement going in both that episode and Apology Tour. You don't dress up for a rendezvous and brag about eating someone's birdpuss if the sex is bad.
But honestly more to the point, even IF Stolas were the worst lay in the history of the universe, how would that make him a bad person, exactly? Like. One's ability to fuck is not a measure of their morality or worth as a person. This is such a weird, petty thing to be upset about??
"the narrative conforms to his side only" the narrative is only about 34% of the way through. Unless you are Viv, Brandon, or Adam, you do not know what the rest of that narrative will hold. Blitz is the main character of the series. It makes perfect sense to focus on HIS character growth arc first and his love interest's arc after.
"minors shouldn't be watching this character" hey, something we agree on! Not only should minors not be watching this character, they shouldn't be watching this show at all! It's very much meant for adults. It says that in the content warning at the beginning of every episode, and I'm certainly glad it does! Glad we could find this common ground.
"real predators just like Stolas" oof, that's a hefty accusation! Can you cite examples of him abusing someone? I can't think of any. Him having flaws, sure! Loads of those. Classism, obliviousness of how his actions and words affect other people, a tendency to prioritize the wrong things in life, not picking up on other people's feelings... I could go on! But abuse? I can think of times when he was a victim of abuse himself (from his father, from his wife, from Striker), but the only example that's coming to mind that might qualify as him abusing someone else is him squeezing his butler too hard while on the phone with Stella. If that's what you meant, I'll grant you that one! That was definitely not okay and falls under the classicism I mentioned earlier. It's also likely to be addressed by the narrative in the future, given what has been said by the creators about future plans.
Unless... Oh wait. You're talking about the agreement, aren't you? The agreement that Blitz consented to of his own free will after attempting to steal from Stolas? The agreement that Blitz was shown to enjoy and tried unsuccessfully to put back into place after Stolas ended it? That agreement? The one that was basically just sex work? Don't tell me you're a swerf! Blitz is a full ass grown man who is capable of deciding for himself who he wants to have sex with and why. If you wouldn't have made that choice in his shoes, that's fine! You're entitled to that! But he (and the real life people who do similar work of their own free will) are entitled to make their choice, too!
