❀ Bluebell Smurf Voice Claim ❀

Following along the canon of any Smurf made from Gargamel’s creation spell, Bluebell did start out as quite rude, blunt and considerably wicked. Her maker/ex-boyfriend, Nathan, didn’t mind Bluebell’s behavior at the time. Since he wasn’t a good boyfriend to Veronica, the person Bluebell was made to replace as his new girlfriend, he just wanted his girlfriend back. So, for some time, Bluebell was named as “Veronica” to stand in as Nathan’s replacement girlfriend after the real Veronica dumped him. But one day, Bluebell got tired of not being able to go outside with Nathan. Every time he the apartment, Bluebell was forced to stay behind for “safety reasons.” Eventually, Bluebell told Nathan outwardly that she wanted them to have a normal relationship, as in just being able to leave the apartment with him. Nathan grew enraged at this and yelled at Bluebell that staying in the apartment was for her own good. He even went as far as to threaten her, saying he would “break her” if she kept arguing back. A similar statement said by Gargamel to Smurfette when he made her to capture the other Smurfs.

That made Bluebell become afraid to “speak out of line.” But even though she was afraid, she knew that she couldn’t stay with Nathan any longer. By her own strength, she escaped his apartment one night and down the fire escape. After leaving him and becoming a real Smurf thanks to Adventurer Smurf (Baby Smurf grown up), she’s now more timid and can be overly talkative as a way to disarm others about herself. She still has a blunt speech pattern, but is trying to be a better Smurf and have her own autonomy. Bluebell follows the name placement with most of the other Smurfs: having the distinction first and then Smurf second. Since she’s not a part of SmurfWillow’s village, she goes with the naming system for Papa Smurf’s village.

▽ Noah Davison Voice Claim ▽

I’ll admit trying to find any kind of voice for Noah was difficult, since I mostly like to draw women. But I did know that I always wanted Noah to have a more deadpan, more serious tone in comparison to Dae’s general tone. Unlike Dae, Noah isn’t the immediate defuser of a situation. Half the time, they’re usually back talking to someone who’s annoying them or causing them problems. This happened a lot with Dae’s dad when he still worked on the Narrow Gauge Railway. Noah’s experience with other people before working with the railway has made him grow to be defensive as a way to protect themself. But once they joined the railway, the other crew workers were able to help them slowly open back up again.

When Noah realized that Dae had issues with her dad and blamed herself for the way he is now, Noah became a support system for her. Since Sir Handel can’t defend Dae physically, Noah stands in to help her if she can’t speak out for herself. Noah acts like an older brother to Dae: speaking up for her when she can’t get her words out, standing in front to protect her from someone if they’re being too aggressive, and is the first of the group to shot something down if it makes the crew uncomfortable.
