Gran Gran mentioned that no one had seen an airbender in a hundred years, and Sokka brought up a war, but before he had time to elaborate, Aang got distracted by said penguins. Other than these two pieces of information, he had no idea about the war, its magnitude and how it shaped Katara's childhood.

I don't blame him at all for that scene, I actually enjoy it. He's a kid and he does bring fun and joy to Katara. But it has nothing to do with him intentionally encouraging Katara to be a child again nor relieving her of her sense of duty. It's more about him wanting to have fun with another kid (keep in mind it's been a while for him too, the other children at the Air Temple stopped playing with him when they found out he was the Avatar).

And that's totally fine in itself. He doesn't know that he doesn't know. But we cannot twist this to make it a proof of Kαtaang's compatibility.

Also as others have already said many times, it was only one scene. And at the very beginning of the series.

Talking about Zuko's fault that he already fixed and he helped her facing her trauma and get over it, like Aang never did something wrong to her (the non-consensual kiss, the way he shouted at her when he frustrated) and never said sorry.

Talking about Zuko was already in love with Mai, when he literally let her get imprisoned because of him and didn't even think to release her after he got the throne.

Talking about how awkward they were when someone else shipped them, while not wondering why people in the show shipped them, it can't be out of nowhere, right?

Talking about chemistry and build-up, when Katara and Aang's dynamic is just like a babysitter and little brother (even Bryke said it themselves) Eww!!!
