i would like to say first that im sorry for no posting lately but i will let you know why in this totally understandable blog post.

okay, so recently, i found out on top of having heart surgery, fibromyalgia, & now heel cysts and possible RA (rheumatoid arthritis) in the same foot as the heel cyst. AT 22. okay. it blows.

BUT! along with creams, anti-immflamatories, the usual maintence meds,…

    and after

    skin care is something most of us ignore. whether it’s because we’re exhausted before bed, or are on the rush in the morning, we don’t take enough time to really take care of our skin. below are a few products that i use, and will explain.

-p.s.- the photos are just things i use personally (you need to use what is best for your own skin type)

Morning Routine

first, facial cleansing always. i personally use my yes to tomatoes charcoal cleanser in the shower. it really deep cleans and makes my face feel fresh and awake. second, i moisturize with either a facial moisturizer, or just a hydrating non-fragrant lotion, then prime my face before applying makeup. night time is where i believe you get the most benefits when it comes to skin care.

Nightly Routine

so to begin, remove that makeup! i prefer to use both makeup remover wipes, plus a facial cleanser. when using the cleanser, try and use a facial wand, or buffer sponge to really get your skin clean.

next, i personally use first a hydrating moisturizer, then a serum. although i am young, i am already using eye rejuvenating cream on my eyes just to make sure i prevent wrinkles. just be ahead of the game. *pause for laughter* i also use my skin fading cream before bed.

on a twice weekly basis, i use masks of all kinds. sometimes, depending on how my skin is being that week, i’ll use a charcoal strip on my nose, a de-stress mask, a peeling mask, or a creamy mask for moisture.

once weekly i exfoliate at night. for my skin, exfoliating too much irritates my skin.

After Results of Taking Care of my Skin

i really only started taking my skin care seriously over the past month, and the photos above are my results. skin care is so important, especially at a young age because it decreases your chance of getting wrinkles at an earlier age than if you ignored your skin. i have no scientific evidence to support that but it’s pretty obvious.

OH! and bee-tee-dubs, don’t always go for the brand name skin care brands. sometimes the off brand works just as great. good luck on your skintastic adventures!

what they didn’t’ tell me about PTSD

Sometimes us as human beings go through things in life that aren’t usual to us. I, recently, went through an event that didn’t see traumatic at all in the moment. Yes. It was a rough situation but it defiantly didn’t seem ‘traumatic.’ My whole life I always thoughttrauma was from war, abuse, true horrific situations.

do not get me wrong, i share these memes and images all the time, but why? when did we just look past the pain behind the comedy? we do it in real life all the time, where we act funny and make people laugh but no one knows how much you’ve been through in life.

i have gone through some of the hardest times in my life so far. at age 21, i hit rock bottom with severe anxiety and depression. i fought for a long time with both until it got really bad. i ended up having to spend five days a med hospital, where i came to understand what no one else would unless they experienced TRUE bought’s of horrible depression. people all the time are sharing articles and memes that are just making depression look like it’s no big deal, like its normal.DEPRESSION ISN’T NORMAL. true depression is not normal and you need to see a doctor if you have depression. it’s not something you laugh about, it’s not models looking into the ocean during a misty fog, it’s not a buzzfeed article rating how depressed you are with funny gifs. IT’S CRYING AND FEELING ALONE ALL THE TIME AND WANTING TO DIE WITHOUT KNOWING WHY OR HOW YOU GOT THAT WAY.

the only way to help others, and to stop making depression look like the common cold, is to stop sharing and posting the pictures. instead, start posting positive images, funny images and gifs about other things, anything really, but that. once again, i am so guilty of sharing those posts as well, but it sends the wrong message in the end. it makes it look like this is an okay and totally normal emotion.

the only glamorous part of anxiety and depression is when you finally start to get better and remember the sun and how it feels to enjoy life again. that is glamorous.

ALWAYS email me if you need to talk. don’t pretend you are okay if you aren’t. talk to a doctor, or talk to a friend. depression can’t be beat alone.

life for young married couples are incredibly difficult. insurance, college, having to pull full time jobs on top of college to pay for housing, food, gas, car payments, car ins., well, you get what i’m saying. at first getting married seemed like such a fairy tale, and it still is, except instead of riding away on a white horse, it’s more like walking away into the thunderstorm of shit with the love of your life.

but let me say this, screw that life.

GET UP, DUST YOURSELF OFF, AND BEAT LIFE’S ASS.

you know what, everyday, lucas and i struggle our ass’ off to afford our life, but we live BELOW our means. the smartest thing to do when you get married young is to STOP keeping up with your old friends from high school or someone in your college class. everyone is always trying to impress or compare themselves to someone they think is better than them so they try to dress and live just like that or better. when you’re married, that shit doesnt matter anymore.

seriously, marbles is right. find your own style and the best way to be stylish or whatever you want in the cheapest way possible. for instance, lucas and i live in a camper. our good married friends may have homes, and yeah we want that, but were living below our means to make it in other areas of our life. and camper living is so fun. this is an adventure we could have missed out on. also, DIY everything. okay, not everything, but you can save so much money making a lot of cleaning, and beauty supplies.

i’m telling you i have saved so much by just getting on pinterest and searching DIY home and health products. you would be amazed.

one last thing, your career or schooling may take longer than they tell you in high school. take your time, don’t feel ashamed for taking your time. slow and steady wins the race.

but you’ll always be broke when you’re young and married, but the top way to get through the tough times is to remember why you fell in love.

for now, our babies are our pets. and that’s okay. here’s why..
