Grace hunches in and says, "Guess I was bullied a lot growing up, haha-" Carl cuts in. "So was I." Grace: "What? Really?" Carl pops Skittles in his mouth as he replies, "I grew up fat and black, I got my fair share of shit. Sure, it got to me, but I came around to the idea that those teenage dipshits were wrong about me. What's your excuse, man?"

Grace says uncomfortably, "I never- Uh. I, well-" Carl looks very unimpressed and says, "See? You're doing it again. Say what you mean to say." Grace slumps. "I guess I never thought about it that way." Carl: "Yeah. I know. That's why I said it. Get out of your own damn way."

We see the first panel in color: Grace floating outside the Hail Mary, surrounded by the red glow of Astrophage, as Carl says, "And once you do that? Hoo, man. You'll be unstoppable."

Stratt was a historian. She wasn't just pirating for the sake of entertainment for the astronauts, she was doing a full historical backup of the planet. Who knows how much knowledge and communications ability, how much art and culture and history, how much niche knowledge of how to make specific pieces of modern technology or modern medicines, was lost as the wars for resources isolated everyone, as the death tolls led to the deaths of specialized trade workers and scientists, as the power grids failing across the planet (or cut off, potentially) led to all the cloud servers going dark. Stratt was facing methods of combating extinction and she did her best to ensure that if/when the Hail Mary worked, it would send back not just the hope of the future in the solution to the astrophage, but the restoration of history and culture and knowledge.

Duke decided that Danny would be fine by himself for the night, and took a well deserved hot bath, and slept like the dead. Dick and Cass kept getting distracted and kept starting juggling contests with the cans, and dragged him into it by having him assign them ‘coolness’ points for tricks and quantity of cans in the air. What he thought should have taken two hours maximum, became five hours due to the both of them attempting to sabotage the other and causing cans to drop and roll away to the furthest corner possible. Then it was time for the most intimidating dinner possible as Alfred stood at the corner of the table with a slight frown on his face. The only two that were spared from this were Tim and Bruce, forcefully bed ridden by the same terrifying force that graced their dinner. After that, Alfred bid them a very pointed goodnight. 

Duke groaned awake. Within minutes he remembered the short, but tedious task of ‘fixing’ the Batmobile, waiting for either Constantine or Zatanna to take a look at Danny's situation, and trying to dodge Alfred's disappointed look. At least he has completely grounded both Tim and Bruce to their rooms for the next seven, and two days for the respective vigilantes. That bought him some time from the two actual detectives. 

Maybe he should ask Babs for some magic book recommendations…. But that would mean getting someone that knows what to even look for, which brings him back to waiting for one of the few magic users that are willing to help them. Zatanna and Constantine are MIA. Marvel could work, but he said he will be out of contact for a time due to something with the Rock of Eternity, and Raven, who…. Shouldn't be busy….

really love the idea of dream warriors being able to act as a poltergeist in a way; if they had a will strong enough, they’d be able to manipulate real world objects and fuck around with shit if they’re mad or not satisfied with dying.

 i’m upset tiso didn’t have a dream ghost after dying so i will proceed to draw him with one and then man. what if he was a dream poltergeist because he was upset about dying and using that he constantly fucked around with the colosseum’s trials because he wants to mess other people up. yeah. sounds like him

and obviously if ghost had the dreamnail they’d be able to see him fuck around with everything while trying to stop him and i think that’s the funniest shit
