genuinely incredible that Teor has Julien in his final thoughts: "perhaps he is a far better man than even he knows". this is a faith in Julien that exceedingly few have in him. Julien himself does not have this faith and is actively struggling with it, constantly and for years. but, a Falconer who was at Maharlian Falls and knows whatever truth there is about what happened there, has that faith. not even in a future version of Julien (say, "he can be a far better man") that he will discover a potential for and develop into, but in the better man that Julien perhaps has right now, present tense, that he maybe is.

I have some thoughts about what Travis does with this entire moment, for all the characters mentioned, and the way he frames their stories and handles some craftwork and story mechanics here. but including Julien in particular is such a great moment that speaks to Teor's character and is so generously giving to Matt by offering a story anchor.
