Do What Thou Wilt be the Whole of the Law, Love is the Law, Love Under Will

I have my own reasons for not using the label 'Thelemite', but Thelema's core ideal is so perfect: The discovery and pursuit of your 'True Will'.

Those that deride Thelema think 'Do What Thou Wilt' is about being an unabashed hedonist, but its a lot more metaphysical and big-picture than that. Your True Will is your Great Work, your passion and your reason for getting up when you fall. It's your best self. You are (hopefully) never done reaching it, but the pursuit is the point.

There's implications to this I don't think Crowle- Err, I mean, AIWASS, touches on:

If your life should be devoted to pursuing your True Will, shouldn't we help others pursue their own Great Works?

Diminishing the rights of another surely impedes on their Will, so we should respect eachothers' liberties.

If the True Will is, ideally, pursued by everyone, then surely a person's True Will can never be to infringe on someone else's pursuits.

The 'True Will' cannot be ascertained or pursued without permitting for self-determination and discovery. It is, then, fundamentally egalitarian. No real magician would impinge on the rights of another.

Thelema, Chaos Magick and other Occult doctrines are remarkably compatible with queer liberation and humanism, and I'd love to see more perspectives on this.
