we must stay ALIVE.

 the birds and nearby waterfalls always sounded so nice when it was approaching spring. that’s the first thought that reaches the male’s mind when he steps outside and begins to walk. a hand moves with ease as if on autopilot, clearing numerous branches and other walks of nature from his path as his eyes take to examining everything around himself. it was a pathway he had taken many times lately as the others had decided to take up camp nearby but he never grew tired of it. the noisy chirping, rushing water and ever so slight crunch of leaves from creatures skittering about with him. it was all so delightful and Juugo would let it all sink in as much as he could before the trek back to camp inevitably came. 

“ ah? “ the noise comes sooner than his eyes fully settle upon the creature before himself but he was not wrong in making it. there nearby laid a small rabbit ( was it a rabbit? it appeared to be so but he wasn’t certain from this distance ) seemingly injured. of course, he wasn’t just going to leave it if its mother was not around. a few steps are taken, slow and with all the caution he can muster and then he’s glancing around to ensure there is no mother or potential siblings. when it checks out there is indeed no sign of any, he settles down into the grass and offers out a hand filled with grass. 

“ hello there, I’m Juugo. is it alright if I sit here a minute with you? I have some grass for you, if you’d like? “ his voice comes gentle and sweet, words filled with nothing less than affection. much to his delight, the small rabbit even begins eating the grass from his flattened palm soon after! which is, in all honesty, quite enough to make the corners of his lips turn upwards just slightly. 

after several minutes of simply sitting there while the rabbit ate, Juugo takes to moving again. just slightly and still slowly as to not startle the creature when his hand reaches out to inspect the damage done to his little friend.
