Title: The Prisoner of the Burial Mounds
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: T
Warnings: character death
Summary: A man cursed by a god for falling in love. A curious young man wanting to free the cursed man from his childhood story. Can Lan Wangji save the Yiling Patriarch from his curse?
The people of Gusu had all grown up on stories of a mysterious man who brought chaos and death wherever he went. Eventually, he was condemned to live forever in a place known as the Burial Mounds. The Burial Mounds was said to be a desolate place where a great battle between gods had been fought and was the resting place of all who entered. Nobody knew where this place was or if it even existed. The same went for the cursed man, the Yiling Patriarch.
Legend has it that the Yiling Patriarch was the second-hand of a powerful sect at the time. He was said to be ruthless, killing any who opposed him or his sect. He was feared by all. Even his own sect leader began to feel uneasy do to his constant outbursts. Then one day, he deeply offended a god. There was a young man whom he had fallen in love with, unknown to him that a god had already placed a claim on him. He pursued the man, only for the god to become angered at the man who dared to take what was his. The god set fire to his home, killing everyone there. Nothing remained of his home, not his brother, not his sister, and not even its name.
In anger and resentment, the Yiling Patriarch had sought out power through dark means and eventually attacked the god head on, injuring the god. The god couldnât take such an insult from the mere mortal, so he cursed him. He would never age, his body became able to withstand any injury, and no illness would ever touch him. He was locked in the Burial Mounds, a place of death where the sun never shone. A cold, dark, desolate land where nothing could grow. He would remain forever alone. The Burial Mounds became his prison.
Growing up, Lan Wangji had always felt an odd connection to the story. When he was still a child, he swore that he would find the mysterious Burial Mounds and free that man from his curse.
As he got older, more and more responsibilities fell upon him as the sect leaderâs son. He never forgot about his promise, but he was unable to fulfill for many years. After his brother took the title of sect leader following their fatherâs passing, he finally sought out the Burial Mounds and the man said to reside there.
Lan Wangji spent weeks following a strange feeling. It felt as though someone was guiding his way. He ended up arriving in an abandoned province, âYilingâ carved into a stone there. Knowing that the man was known as the Yiling Patriarch, he knew this had to be a sign, he had to be close. He allowed the odd feeling to continue to guide him when he arrived in a place covered in a dark fog, obsidian spires rising towards the sky. He made his way to the edge of the fog and attempted to enter. Something held him back from entering, a barrier, but using his strong spiritual power, forced his way through. He continued moving forward until he reached a clearing, a cave located at the opposite end.
The cave had a strange red glow emerging from it. Cautiously, Lan Wangji walked towards the entrance when a figure emerged from it, seemingly cloaked in shadows. Smoke closely followed the man out.
The man didnât seem to notice Lan Wangjiâs presence just yet. He just coughed, waving his hand in front of his face to chase the smoke away from him. âAlmost got it right this time... maybe I need to...â he trailed off as he finally noticed the other.
They both stared at each other. All Lan Wangji could think was that this man was the most beautiful person he had ever seen in his life. Then the man spoke, âWhat are you? Why do you look like Lan Zhan? Is this some cruel punishment, as if I havenât been punished enough already?âÂ
âHow do you know my name?â was all Lan Wangji could respond with.
Suddenly, the manâs appearance darkened considerably, his eyes glowing red. âDonât lie to me! I know youâre not him! That damned god killed him, right in front of my eyes while I was powerless to stop him! Donât you dare pretend to be him just to hurt me more!â he shouted at him, tears forming in the corners of his eyes.
âMy name is Lan Zhan,â he stubbornly replied.
âNo youâre not! Donât lie!â
âI am.â
âWhatever,â the man waved him off, âJust get out of here.â
âNot without you.â
âWhat? How cruel can you actually be? I can never leave here until the real Lan Zhan leads me away from here himself. You think itâs funny taking on his appearance, stealing his identity, and promising me my freedom? Screw you. Just leave.â The man turned away from him. He could no longer stand to look at the imposter.
âCome to Gusu with me,â Lan Wangji pleaded.
âStill on with this? I wonât fall for this anymore.â
âPlease. You already believe Iâm lying. Let me prove you wrong. What do you have to lose?â
âFine. If this will get you to leave me alone, lead the way,â he gestured for Lan Wangji to start leading the way.
Lan Wangji started walking towards him, swiftly removing his forehead ribbon as he did so. Once in front of the man, he grabbed his wrists in one hand, the ribbon in his other, and started wrapping it around his wrists. He tied the forehead ribbon tightly around his wrists, knotting it so that he had somewhere to hold onto it. He then started to drag the man towards the exit of the Burial Mounds by the forehead ribbon. The man struggled to keep up, stumbling the whole way. As they reached the exit, the man lost his footing completely and Lan Wangji pulled him to his chest to prevent him from hitting the ground.Â
The Yiling Patriarch looked up at him in shock for a few moments before pulling away from his chest, once again facing the barrier that kept him in and others out. He sighed deeply, âLetâs get this over with.â
As he took his next step, Lan Wangji at his side, he fully expected to hit the wall like he had every other time. Instead, he found he was able to leave. He turned to face Lan Wangji once more. âThis is real? This is actually real. Youâre really Lan Zhan?â he was in complete disbelief.
âMn.â
âHow are you alive?â
âI have no memories of a time with you,â he bluntly stated. The manâs face fell at this statement. Then Lan Wangji continued on, âBut Iâve always felt a connection to youâre story. It felt like I was led here. I may not have memories of you, but I believe I am your Lan Zhan. Help me remember?â
Words failed him, he could only nod in response. When he could finally form words again, he finally introduced himself. âMy nameâs Wei Ying. Please donât forget again.â He jumped into the manâs arms, looping his still bound wrists around Lan Wangjiâs neck in a hug.

Title: Countdown
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Summary: In a world where soulmates are born with a countdown on their wrist to tell them when theyâll meet their other half, Wei Yingâs first meeting with his soulmate is quite memorable.
Well, this wasnât how Wei Ying imagined heâd meet his soulmate.
He was currently on top of the man in a fountain. They were both staring at each other, frozen from the shock of what just happened. Finally, the man told him to get off of him. Wei Ying was convinced that this man must hate him now and he couldnât really blame him.
Basically, the day started off on a bad note for Wei Ying. He had slept in when his alarm hadnât gone off that morning. By the time he woke up, he had ten minutes to get ready and make his way all the way across campus to class. He was running as fast as he could, occasionally bumping into someone, only able to shout an apology as he continued on. Then the unimaginable happened. He ran head on into a young man walking by. The force of the collision sent the man falling towards the fountain. Wei Ying grabbed the manâs arm in an attempt to stop him from falling into the water, but his momentum sent him crashing in on top of the man.Â
Now Wei Ying was hurriedly scrambling off of said man and offering his hand out to help the man up. The man merely stood up without even acknowledging him. Wei Ying couldnât blame his cold attitude, he had just sent him into a fountain after all.Â
It was only when he was awkwardly retracting his hand that he noticed it. His countdown had reached zero. He looked up at the now retreating and soaked man with eyes wide open in surprise. Without even thinking, he quickly caught up to the man and grabbed his wrist.
âYour countdown, whatâs it at?â Wei Ying had to ask.
The manâs eyes widened. He had completely forgotten that it was supposed to end today after all that had just taken place. He immediately pulled his arm out of Wei Yingâs grip and rolled up his sleeve. There he found that his countdown had come to its end. Before he could say anything, Wei Ying had once again grabbed the manâs arm and pulled it towards him so he could see for himself.
He let out a nervous laugh as he looked back up at the manâs face. âI guess youâre stuck with me.â He held his own arm up to the man, showing off his own finished countdown. âIâm Wei Ying by the way.â
âLan Zhan,â the man nodded back.Â
They stood there for a few moments, Lan Zhanâs arm still held by Wei Ying. Then they heard someone clear their throat from beside them. Wei Ying immediately dropped Lan Zhanâs arm as the two spun around to face the culprit. There stood a man that looked very similar to Lan Zhan.
âCongratulations A-Zhan, but maybe you two should go somewhere more private to talk and get changed into something dry,â the man suggested politely.
âMn.â
With that, Lan Zhan turned around and started walking off. Wei Ying quickly followed suit. They definitely had a lot to talk about and dry clothes sounded really good right now. Wei Ying completely forgot about the class he had been racing too.

Title: Yiling Patriarch Lan Wangji
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: T
Warnings: none
Summary: After Lan Wangji disappeared, Wei Wuxian searched for him all over while still fighting the Wens. After being overwhelmed by Wen Chaoâs forces and told that Lan Wangjiâs core had been destroyed and heâd been thrown into the Burial Mounds, a familiar figure appears.
Wei Wuxian couldnât believe his eyes. Was that, âLan Zhan?â Lan Wangji appeared so different, no longer wearing his white mourning Lan robes and instead dark blue, almost black, ones. There was no forehead ribbon. It was currently wrapped around Wei Wuxianâs wrist and had been since the day he found it abandoned in the woods. At least he still had his guqin, but he had used it to control an army of corpses against the Wens.
Hearing his name, Lan Wangji turned to face Wei Wuxian. âWei Ying,â he blankly stated.
âLan Zhan? Are you the one whoâs been killing Wens all over?â Wei Wuxian questioned him in disbelief.
âMn.â
Wei Wuxian couldnât believe what Lan Wangji was saying. The Lan Zhan he knew could never be as cruel as he had been killing the Core-Melting Hand and Wen Chao.Â
âWhat about those evil summoning talismans?â
âMn.Â
âLan Zhan, what happened to you? You disapproved of me when I suggested a method of using resentful energy and yet now youâre doing just that. What about the consequences?â
âNot youâre concern,â he bluntly stated, no longer looking Wei Wuxian in the eyes.
âHow could you say itâs not my concern? Weâre already so close and you still treat me this coldly?â Wei Wuxian asked in disbelief.
âNot close.â
âWh- Lan Wangji!â
âWei Wuxian!â He couldnât believe that Lan Wangji had just shouted at him. After a brief pause, he lowered his voice. âNot youâre concern. Leave me alone.â
âLan Zhan...â Tears had started to form in his eyes. âCome back to Yunmeng with me. Or let me go back to Gusu with you. I just want to help you.â
Lan Wangji didnât respond, just turned his back on Wei Wuxian and started to walk away.
Wei Wuxian was going to continue on when Lan Xichen, who had joined them in this battle, placed his hand on his shoulder. âYoung master Wei, donât worry. Iâll look after him. You should focus on helping your sect leader. Feel free to visit Wangji when you can though,â he reassured him.
Wei Wuxian wanted to argue further, but trusted Lan Xichen. He knew that Lan Xichen loved his brother and would do whatever he could to help him. Still holding back his tears, he bowed to him, âI trust youâll take care of him Zewu-jun.â
As the Twin Jades left the battlefield, Wei Wuxian turned away, heading off with his brother trailing behind him. He finally let the tears flow.

Title: The Birth of a God
Author: wangxian rabbit
Rating: T
Warnings: character death
Summary: When a hero who helped the gods fight the tyrant fire god is turned on and killed by the same gods he helped, the moon god will do anything to save his beloved.
Among all the gods, there was one that not many people knew about. Even the other gods didnât interact with this god. This god was known to take in young orphaned mortal children and train them to become great heroes. Her name was Baoshan Sanren. One of her most famous disciples was a woman named Cangse Sanren. This woman was well known for breaking rules and getting into trouble. She was very much the definition of a free spirit. She attracted many suitors, even gods, but in the end she married an ordinary mortal man. With him, she had a son, Wei Wuxian.
One day, while helping a small village with its demon problem, she was killed, along with her husband, leaving their young son alone. For a few years, their son struggled to get by, stealing food when he had to. Then one day, a rich looking man in purple robes appeared before him. The man claimed to have known his mother and wished to help him. The man took him to the temple of the water god, Jiang Fengmian, and he told the boy that heâd visit often and bring him food, clothes, and anything else heâd need.
Years had passed and the boy was now fifteen. Over the years, the man heâd started to call âuncleâ had taught him how to hunt and fight. His daughter and son had stopped by when they could over the years as well and they all grew quite close. They considered each other siblings at that point.Â
One day, while out hunting in the forest near the temple, he ran into a young man in white robes. The man was so handsome, otherworldly so. The man seemed to radiate light. His golden eyes seemed to glow. When the young man noticed him staring, he started to walk away. Wei Wuxian tried to follow him, but the man turned around a tree and vanished. Wei Wuxian believed heâd just seen a ghost.
Soon enough, the fire god started a war against the other gods, trying to become the ruler of everything. He burned down temples, killed many mortals, and even killed a few gods. Wei Wuxian, having grown up hearing stories of his mother and other heroes as well as being a prodigy when it came to fighting, chose to fight on the side of the other gods.
There were many gods, demigods, and even some mortals who fought the fire god, Wen Ruohan. Everything became truly serious to the gods when he attacked the home of the sky god, Cloud Recesses. In the attack, the Cloud Recesses was burned, the sun god disappeared, plunging the world into constant darkness, the moon god became seriously injured, and the sky god himself became fatally wounded, dying soon after.
Hearing this, Wei Wuxian decided to do something that nobody else would dare to do, scared of what the consequences would be. He attacked the fire godâs temple, burning it to ashes. This infuriated the fire god. Not only had he attacked his temple, but doing so with his own element, what a bold move. The fire god started hunting Wei Wuxian down. When the fire godâs second son, Wen Chao, was close to finding him, the water god stepped in. Wei Wuxian was confused when his uncle appeared to him.Â
âWe havenât got much time. Quickly now,â his uncle urged him. He held his hand out to Wei Wuxian and once he took it, they teleported somewhere heâd never been before. The place was beautiful. They were in a palace surrounded by a huge lake full of lotus flowers.Â
âWhatâs going on?â Wei Wuxian asked.
âI guess itâs time I properly introduced myself. My name is Jiang Fengmian,â his uncle smiled.
âWait, youâre the water god?â Wei Wuxian asked in disbelief.
âYes, I knew your mother many years ago. When she married your father and had you, I promised her that if anything happened to them, Iâd look after you. Iâll admit, it took me a while to track you down, but I did eventually. I raised you so that you could choose what you wanted for your life. I never imagined youâd burn down a godâs temple though.â
Before Wei Wuxian could respond, a woman marched into the room. The woman demanded angrily why Jiang Fengmian would bring this troublemaking boy into their home, claiming that all heâd do is bring them problems. Jiang Fengmian argued with his wife and tried to diffuse the situation, but his wife just stormed off.
Sadly, the lightning goddess had been right. Once Wen Ruohan found out that Jiang Fengmian brought Wei Wuxian into his home, he attacked Lotus Pier and burned it to the ground. Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan were both killed in the attack when they were protecting their children and Wei Wuxianâs retreat.
Afterwards, they took refuge where the other gods set up camp. This is where he finally met the man from the woods. The young man was introduced as Lan Wangji, the moon god. Wei Wuxian instantly took an interest in the god and stuck to him whenever possible. At first, Lan Wangji hated being around him, but throughout the course of the war, they became closer.Â
Soon enough, the sun returned and the world was once again bright. It was revealed that the sun god, Lan Xichen, had been told by his uncle to take what he could from their library and flee. Lan Xichen hadnât wanted to leave them, but did as his uncle ordered. He had taken refuge in the mortal world with a young demigod son of Jin Guangshan, the god of riches.
The war ended when the sun and war gods were directly fighting Wen Ruohan and the demigod son of Jin Guangshan, Meng Yao, had stabbed the fire god in the back with a heavenly weapon. The fire god had perished and order was once again restored. A leader of a branch family who had acted as a medic throughout the war, Wen Qing, took the place and title of the fire goddess. Jiang Cheng had taken up his motherâs title as the new lightning god while his sister became the new water goddess. The two siblings rebuilt Lotus Pier as well as helping the other gods where they could. Since Meng Yao had killed Wen Ruohan himself, he was granted godhood and renamed âJin Guangyaoâ.
In the following years, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji had become so close that they were believed to be lovers by the other gods. The two were oblivious of the otherâs feelings though, so no intimate relationship actually occurred. They just remained close friends. In the meantime, Jin Guangyao had started scheming for a way to take the throne of the gods for himself and he needed someone to be his scapegoat. He saw the close relationship that Wei Wuxian, a mere human, had with the moon god and decided that he was the perfect one to cast the blame on.
In the end, the gods turned on the hero that had helped them so long ago except for his siblings and Lan Wangji. The moon god tried to defend and protect him, but it was no use. Wei Wuxian ended up being killed and Lan Wangji was left to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart.Â
Lan Wangji decided that he would bring Wei Wuxian back no matter what and set out for the Underworld soon after. Once there, he met with the god of the dead, Mo Xuanyu, and asked him to return Wei Wuxian to him. At first, Mo Xuanyu denied his request, saying that once someone died, they couldnât be brought back. Lan Wangji continued to press him and eventually Mo Xuanyu granted him permission to see Wei Wuxian, but still told him that Wei Wuxian couldnât leave since he was dead.
Wei Wuxian was summoned to the palace of the dead to see Lan Wangji. âWhy are you here?â Wei Wuxian asked him.
âCome to bring you back,â Lan Wangji explained.
âYou canât. Iâm dead. The dead can never leave the Underworld.â Wei Wuxian seemed confused by Lan Wangji.
âThereâs a way.â
âWhat? How do you expect to do that? Anyways, what could I do if you somehow brought me back. The other gods would just kill me again. Dying once was enough for me, thank you.â
Lan Wangji didnât say anything, instead reaching into his chest and pulling a ball of light out. Wei Wuxianâs eyes widened when he saw it, âIs that... is that your heavenly core? What do you plan to do with that?â
As a reply, Lan Wangji tore it in half. He placed half back within himself and pushed the other into Wei Wuxianâs chest. Lan Wangji had just given up some of his godly essence to turn Wei Wuxian into a god. âNow you can leave.â
âLan Zhan! No! I canât take this! Take it back, take it back please! This is too much!â Wei Wuxian pleaded.Â
Lan Wangji shook his head.
âIâll still be hated and killed! I donât want you to waste your core on me!â
âNot a waste.â
âBut-â
âReturn to Gusu with me.â
âWhat, I canât possibly. Iâll only damage your reputation.â
âItâs fine. Return with me.â
âI canât. You know this.â
âYou were framed.â
âWhat?â Wei Wuxian couldnât believe what was being said.
âYou were framed,â Lan Wangji repeated. âWe will find the culprit and clear your name.â
âEven if I was framed, what makes you believe that we can find the culprit? It wonât end well for either of us if I leave here.â
âLove Wei Ying.â
âWhat? What did you just say?â Wei Wuxian had to ask. He mustâve heard him wrong. There was no way that Lan Wangji felt the same way.
âLove Wei Ying. Return with me. Please.â Lan Wangji looked so serious that Wei Wuxian believed him.
âYou really wonât take no for an answer, will you? Fine then. Youâve already given me part of your core to save me. I guess I owe it to you then,â Wei Wuxian finally accepted reluctantly. âBy the way,â he whispered into Lan Wangjiâs ear, âI love you too.â
Lan Wangjiâs ears burned a bright red, but a smile could be seen on his face.

Title: Do Androids Dream of Rabbits?
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: T
Warnings: androids are considered as property and are treated as such
Summary: Lan Wangji is hired to find a rogue android, but when he mets said android, things are revealed.
âThis is your next target.â A file was handed to him. He opened it and glanced at the photo inside. It was a young man with long black hair pulled back into a high ponytail. His eyes were a grey, almost silver colour.
âWei Wuxian,â he read.
âYes, Wei Wuxian was the new prototype, but something went wrong with his programming. He went rogue. Now we need to get him back and run tests to figure out what went wrong,â the man explained.
âVery well,â Lan Wangji nodded. He stood up and left without another word, the file in hand.
Lan Wangji had no clue where to start with this. He started looking around for any leads as to where this Wei Wuxian was. Months passed and still no luck. Then one day he got home and found a letter at his door. He brought it inside and opened it.
Caiyi Bar. Midnight.
The letter was odd, but what shocked him more was who had sent it, Wei Wuxian.
He wondered how Wei Wuxian found out he was searching for him, but didnât dwell on it too much. He needed to hurry if he was going to make it in time.
When he arrived, he looked around, scanning the bar for Wei Wuxian. As he searched, someone called out to him from behind, âLan Zhan!â
Lan Wangji spun around quickly to face who had just called his name. He was greeted by a smiling face. âWei Wuxian,â he stated.
âLan Zhan, letâs go grab a table before we continue this talk,â Wei Wuxian suggested. Before Lan Wangji could say anything, Wei Wuxian had grabbed his arm and dragged him to a booth in the back.
âHow do you know my birth name?âÂ
âDo you think youâre the only one who can do research. I had heard word that someone was looking for me. I wanted to learn about this person who could be so bold as to search out myself.â
Lan Wangji then asked, âIf you knew I was looking for you, why would you invite me out?â
âLetâs just say I was curious. And call me Wei Ying.â
Lan Wangji hesitated before responding, âAre you aware why I was looking for you?â
âOh of course! You were hired to bring me back so that they could dissect me and use my scraps for other projects!â Wei Wuxian sounded almost cheerful at this.
âArenât you angry?â
âWhy would I be? You were hired to carry out a job. Donât get me wrong, I have no intention of going back there, but youâre free to try and make me,â he winked.
Lan Wangji was about to question him further when Wei Wuxian abruptly stood up. Wei Wuxian held his hand out to him and told him he wanted to show him something. Lan Wangji knew he shouldnât accept that hand, but he did anyways and was dragged off. Wei Wuxian led them to a small black car. He opened the passenger door and offered the seat to Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji sends him a questioning look at the gesture.
âOh relax, if I was gonna kill you, I would've already,â Wei Wuxian teased. Lan Wangji still wasnât certain, but got in anyways.
After a long drive through the city, they ended up in a more rundown area. Wei Wuxian pulled the car into an apartment complex and led Lan Wangji up. They didnât speak much on the way up, but once inside Wei Wuxianâs apartment, Lan Wangji was asked an odd question. âWhatâs your earliest childhood memory?â
âWhat?â
âYouâre earliest childhood memory. Let me guess, you canât seem to recall it.â
âWhat are you getting at?â Lan Wangji questioned him.
âWhat about your first pet? Or where you grew up? Can you answer any of those?â
Lan Wangji was about to answer just to shut him up when he realized he couldnât remember.Â
âJudging by that look on your face, Iâm guessing Iâm right.â
âWhatâs going on?â Lan Wangji demanded.
âYou werenât just hired by that company to find me. You were another test. You were created shortly after I was. We actually used to be quite close, but Iâm assuming, since you donât remember me, they wiped your memory. You were supposed to be the improved version of me. Then I escaped. We were supposed to leave together, but something went wrong and only I made it out. I thought you were dead.â At this point, he had tears streaming down his face. âI was so happy when I saw it was you they sent after me. It meant you were still alive! I just knew I needed to find you!â
âYouâre lying. Iâm human,â Lan Wangji refused.
âThatâs what they want you to believe. Youâre so much more though, donât you see that?â Wei Wuxian grabbed the sides of his face and held him so that they kept eye contact. âCome back to me Lan Zhan... I miss you...â
Lan Wangji didnât know how to react. He just remained there, frozen.
âHow do I know youâre telling the truth?â
âWell, I have some other friends from the company that got out as well. Wen Qing understands it best, how to free your mind from them. Stay the night and Iâll talk to her in the morning. Just trust me. I promise Iâm not lying to you. If I am, I wonât even fight you. You can take me back and I wonât struggle. Just please, give me the chance to prove myself,â Wei Wuxian pleaded.
âMn. Iâll stay the night.â

Title: The Show That Started It All
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: T
Warnings: none
Summary: Wei Wuxian is the new actor joining the show Lan Wangji is the main lead on.
âHey, my nameâs Wei Wuxian! Iâll be joining the cast as of today!â That was how Lan Wangji met the up and coming star, Wei Wuxian.
His rise to fame had been abrupt. It was as if one minute he didnât exist and the next, he was everywhere. When the director announced there would be someone joining the cast, nobody expected Wei Wuxian. When he entered the room for that first time, the cast and crew went crazy. Most of them were all over him in mere moments. However, Lan Wangji remained where he was, going over his lines for the next scene.
He still isnât quite sure how they ended up in this situation though, Wei Wuxian in his lap. Just a few months ago, Wei Wuxian and himself had been complete strangers, brought together for a show.
                              \-/
The show was a xianxia one where Lan Wangji played the leading role. His character was a passionate, and often times rebellious character. The show had been going for three seasons already so even though the character was nothing like him, he felt a strong connection to him. As the series was getting ready for the fourth season, it was announced to the cast and crew that a new person would be joining the cast. They wouldnât release any details regarding the character or the actor who would portray him, annoying many of the cast and crew.
When Wei Wuxian had finally joined the crew, he instantly took an interest in Lan Wangji. He would continually follow him, offer to go out for drinks, try to engage in any sort of conversation, but Lan Wangji always seemed disinterested. He even tried inviting him out for drinks after a day of filming to which Lan Wangji responded by saying he didnât drink alcohol. Wei Wuxian was baffled by that statement and continued to try and convince him for a few more minutes before dropping it when he realized Lan Wangji wasnât going to change his mind.
Throughout the season they filmed, their chemistry on stage became quite clear, to the point that some of the staff even started shipping the two. As more of Wei Wuxianâs character was revealed, so did the relationship between his character and the main leadâs grow stronger. Throughout this, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji also became closer, though if you mentioned it to Lan Wangji, heâd deny it.
Then came that night. Lan Wangji had been at home relaxing and reading when he heard a knock on his door. Lan Wangji opened it to be greeted by Wei Wuxian. Puzzled, he stood there for a moment, just staring at Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian stared right back. After a few moments of silence, Wei Wuxian questioned if he was going to let him in. Hesitantly, Lan Wangji complied and motioned for Wei Wuxian to enter, who did so with a huge grin.
Once inside, Lan Wangji offered his couch for Wei Wuxian to sit on. When he did, Lan Wangji stated that he was going to go make some tea and would be back in a moment. Once he returned, he offered a cup to Wei Wuxian, who eagerly took it, before he sat in the chair to the side of the couch.
âWhat are you doing here?â Lan Wangji finally asked him.
âAwe, why do you sound so cold? Weâre so close already! Why canât I visit you?â Wei Wuxian jokingly whined.
âNot close.â
âWha- Not close? Of course we are! How could you say that?â he pouted.
It was at this point that Lan Wangji truly looked at Wei Wuxian and noticed his face was flushed and his eyes seemed to be unfocused. âYouâre drunk,â he stated with a blank face.
âIs it that obvious?â he giggled.
âMn.â
Suddenly, Wei Wuxian put his cup on the table and stood up, slowly making his way over to Lan Wangji. Surprising Lan Wangji, once he reached him he plopped himself down in his lap. Lan Wangji had no clue how to react and sat there stiff as a board for a moment before Wei Wuxian started playing with his hair.
Lan Wangji went to move Wei Wuxianâs hands away which only served to motivate him more. âYou have really pretty eyes,â he stated, looking Lan Wangji straight in the eyes. At that, Lan Wangjiâs ears heated up in embarrassment.
Wei Wuxian continued on. âYou know, Iâve always admired you. Right from when you debuted, Iâve followed all your works. Youâre so talented... and handsome... I was so excited when I found out I was gonna work with you, but you were so cold at first. I was so happy when you finally started to warm up to me. I know you wonât admit it, but you totally like me.,â Wei Wuxian rambled. He then lifted his hand to his mouth and fake whispered, âI like you too. Probably more than you like me.â
Lan Wangji looked at him questioningly. âWhat do you mean by that?â
âYou know... I like you, like I like-like you... Are you mad?â He sounded worried.
âNo.â
âNo? Just ânoâ? What do you mean by that?â Wei Wuxian demanded.
âNot mad.â
As Wei Wuxian opened his mouth, about to demand more, Lan Wangji added, âLike you too.â
âWait really!?â he squealed.
âMn.â
In truth, Lan Wangji had grown to like him during filming as he watched his dedication to his role and how he interacted with everyone. He also had grown to like their interactions a lot. He had been sad when he realized that they were almost done filming the season, knowing he wouldnât see Wei Wuxian for a long time.
Lan Wangji could never have imagined the events of that night, but he wasn't complaining either.
Lan Wangji led Wei Wuxian to a guestroom, giving him an old pair of sweats to sleep in and told him he could stay the night. Wei Wuxian happily agreed and Lan Wangji left him to head to his own room.
As Lan Wangji was starting to fall asleep, a thought finally struck him. âHow did he know where I live?â Lan Wangji didnât sleep that night.
In the morning, Lan Wangji made breakfast for the two of them as Wei Wuxian continued to sleep in the guestroom. Once Wei Wuxian finally crawled out of bed, he was greeted by the sight of Lan Wangji cooking. They stayed silent until Lan Wangji had finished cooking and prepared two plates.
Before they began to eat, Lan Wangji finally asked the question that had bothered him all night.
âYouâre brother told me,â Wei Wuxian replied as he stuffed his face.
âYou know my brother?â he questioned.
âYeah, I worked with him a while ago. We got along and kept in touch ever since. You didnât know?â Wei Wuxian explained.
âNo, not at all.â

After Wei Wuxian had gone home after talking about what had happened the night before, his phone dinged, telling him he got a text. He checked and found it was from his brother.
So, my little brother finally got a boyfriend. You better invite me to the wedding! :)
Lan Wangji blushed at that.Â

Title: The Storm That Captured The Princeâs Heart
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Summary: A storm arrives in Cloud Recesses, leading to the perfect prince breaking the rules.
Lan Wangji grew up in a palace made of white jade. In that cold stone palace, he grew up isolated. The only people he ever interacted with were his uncle, his brother, and his mother before she had died, though he hadnât been allowed to see her often. He was taught the rules of the kingdom from a young age and had them all memorized by heart by the time he turned nine. By the time he reached the age of eleven he had already mastered the guqin. When not learning or studying, he was playing his guqin, Wangji. He eventually became silent, a man of few words, and stopped showing emotion. He was the perfect prince, a statue of jade to match the palace that crafted him.
Then came the storm of red and black, the sound of a flute accompanying it. This storm was a travelling musician. He moved from village to village, city to city, playing his flute as he went. His music seemed to enchant the people he passed along his travels. And as such, this storm crashed into Gusu.
It was late at night when Lan Wangji first heard the sound that the storm made. He found it so beautiful, yet haunting. For the first time in his life, Lan Wangji decided to break the rules. He silently made his way through the castle, sticking to the shadows to avoid detection. Within minutes, he successfully made his way out the back of the palace and into the royal gardens. From their, he reached the main streets of Cloud Recesses.Â
He followed the sound of the flute until he found the source, a young man dressed in red and black robes, wandering around, almost dancing, with a flute held up to his lips. Before he realized what he was doing, he had already reached where the young man was.
The man, feeling eyes on him, turned to face Lan Wangji. He smiled brightly at him before asking him if he liked his music.
Lan Wangji continued to stare for a moment before he processed that he had just been asked a question. âMn,â came his reply.
The man laughed loudly at that and Lan Wangji found that sound to be the most beautiful sound he had ever heard. The young man held his hand out to him, âMy nameâs Wei Wuxian!â
Lan Wangji paused for a moment before responding, âLan Wangji.â
His first meeting with the storm had ended up leaving him wanting more.
After that, every night Wei Wuxian would play his flute through the streets of Cloud Recesses, and each night Lan Wangji would sneak out to meet with him. During the days, Lan Wangji would continue to play his guqin and eventually even composed his own song. This song he wrote for Wei Wuxian and himself, a song to bind them. He called it âWangxianâ.
One night when Lan Wangji heard Wei Wuxianâs playing, he once again went to meet with him, but this time he brought along his own instrument. That night when they met up, Lan Wangji played the song for him.
âWow! Youâre amazing! Whatâs that song called?â
âNot telling,â Lan Wangji stubbornly refused.
âWhat? Why not? Itâs so beautiful though! At least tell me the composer then!â Wei Wuxian whined.
There was a brief pause before Lan Wangji spoke once again, âI composed it.â
âWhat really? Thatâs so cool! How can you be both so talented and beautiful? Itâs so unfair.â Wei Wuxian teased him, pleased when he saw his ears burn a bright red. Lan Wangji turned his head away, trying to hide it, but Wei Wuxian still saw.
With this new development, they continued to meet up at night, though now they both played together, creating a beautiful harmony.
Then one day, Wei Wuxian stopped showing up. Lan Wangji searched for him tirelessly each night, but couldnât find him anymore. He thought he had lost this small joy in his life. He denied it for months, telling himself that Wei Wuxian would show up the next night. However, as each night passed, it revealed the same. Wei Wuxian was gone.
It wasnât until months after that his father visited him. This visit surprised him since his father never showed his face to either of his sons, but the words he spoke shocked him much more. He was to be wed to a prince of a neighbouring kingdom to strengthen their ties to one another. Of course Lan Wangji knew that heâd one day have to marry someone he didn't know for the sake of his kingdom, but it never really sunk in. Especially after the joy he felt months ago and the following months of heartbreak, he didnât expect this to be sprung on himself so suddenly. His father told him that the prince would arrive in a few days and told him to be prepared to welcome his fiancĂŠ.
The day the prince was scheduled to arrive, Lan Wangji got dressed in his elegant white robes, truly appearing as though he were actually made of white jade like the palace he resided in. He entered the main hall where he stood beside his brother. His father sat at the thrown, though his wifeâs seat remained empty. The moment he had been dreading for the last few days had finally come and in mere minutes heâd be meeting the person he was to live the rest of his life with.
When the doors finally opened, Lan Wangji was shocked at who emerged. It was Wei Wuxian, though his normal red and black robes had been switched out for more formal purple robes with lotus designs. Wei Wuxian quickly made his way to where the king sat and bowed. The king then told him to rise while signaling for Lan Wangji to step forward. As he did, their eyes met and Wei Wuxian greeted him with a huge smile.Â
Afterwards, the two left to get âacquaintedâ as his father put it. Lan Wangji led him to the royal gardens where they wandered for a bit. After a while of silence, Lan Wangji finally couldnât take it anymore and questioned him on what all of this was.
Wei Wuxian then proceeded to explain his story. At a young age, both his parents died in an accident. His mother had been the emperor of Yunmengâs sister. Since, he cared for his sister dearly, Emperor Jiang took in her now orphaned child as his own and raised him.
When he was about fifteen, he overheard his uncle speaking to someone regarding a marriage. He assumed it was about his older sister since she was engaged to the son of the Emperor of Lanling, but soon found his assumption wrong. He heard his uncle speaking of a marriage between Yunmeng and Gusu. Once he heard his name mentioned, he zoned everything else out and ran away that night.
He then abandoned his purple robes of Yunmeng for far simpler red and black robes. He decided to wander, never staying in one place for too long. Then he met Lan Wangji and couldnât bring himself to leave.
At that point, Lan Wangji interjected, âYou did leave.â
âAh, I was getting to that,â Wei Wuxian defended before continuing on. He told him about how after spending so many months in Cloud Recesses, he was eventually found by his brother. It may have been an accident, but his brother found him regardless and dragged him all the way back to Yunmeng. He was punished for months for running away all those years ago. Then one day, his uncle told him about the marriage. Wei Wuxian fought him on it at first until he heard the personâs name. When he found out Lan Wangji was the Gusu prince he was to marry, his behavior towards the situation completely changed. He readily agreed to the arranged marriage, shocking his family.
When Wei Wuxian finished, Lan Wangji was at a loss for words. Before he could think about it, Wei Wuxian grabbed his face and pulled him into a gentle kiss. Once everything finally sunk in Lan Wangji confessed to him, âLove Wei Ying.â
âYes, Yes! I love you to Lan Zhan!â Wei Wuxian cheered.

Title: A Perfect Day
Author: wangxianrabbit
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Summary: Lan Wangji plans a day for his husband with his family.
Everything was perfect. Wei Wuxian would sleep in while Lan Wangji would go about his duties. When he finally crawled out of the Jingshi, heâd find the juniors and hang around them, often teasing them and teaching them stuff that Lan Qiren never would.Â
Some days, Jiang Cheng would visit, more often then not with Jin Ling in tow. Those were some good times. Even though their relationship would never be what it once was when they were younger, they had slowly started to mend it. They finally considered themselves as brothers again, even if Jiang Cheng wouldnât admit it.
When Jin Ling would visit, heâd tease him a lot, sometimes even playing pranks on him, but in the rare moments that they were alone, Jin Ling would ask him about his mother. Wei Wuxian would always answer anything he asked about his shijie, often sharing funny stories from their childhood. Wei Wuxian was so glad that Jin Ling didnât hate him even though, much like his uncle, he would never admit that he actually tolerated him.
Wen Ning would stop by from time to time to visit Sizhui and Wei Wuxian. It felt good having his longtime friend around. He also knew how important Wen Ning was to Sizhui. It was nice to see them bond.
One day, Lan Wangji told Wei Wuxian that he had business to deal with and would be back in a few days. Wei Wuxian was sad to see him leave, even if only for a short while, but still cheerfully saw him off. Wei Wuxian spent the rest of the day goofing around before eventually heading to bed.Â
The next day he woke up to someone gently shaking him awake. When he finally opened his eyes, he saw his husbandâs jade like face. There was a small smile gracing his lips as he bent down and placed a gentle kiss to his husbandâs lips before pulling away and telling him to get dressed.
Wei Wuxian, curious as to why Lan Wangji was back already and why he wanted him to get dressed asked a million questions before Lan Wangji placed another kiss on his lips to shut him up. After getting ready, Lan Wangji took his hand and started to lead him to the back hill.Â
What greeted them surprised Wei Wuxian. Sitting around with the bunnies were the people he cared about. Sizhui was sitting there talking to Wen Ning while petting one of the bunnies currently laying in his lap. Jin Ling was bickering with Jingyi like usual. Jiang Cheng was standing off to the side, watching his nephew with a smile. Even LilâApple was standing there, eating some grass. He knew better than to disturb the bunnies by now.
As they got closer, Wei Wuxian could smell spicy food and something else that was familiar. Everyone turned to greet him before wishing him a happy birthday. Lan Sizhui made his way to his fatherâs side before hugging him tightly. Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling soon followed suit.
After the hug, Wei Wuxian turned to Lan Wangji and asked him, âDid you plan this all for me? I completely forgot it was even my birthday!â
âMn,â Lan Wangji replied. Wei Wuxian immediately threw his arms around his neck and brought him into a kiss. He ignored the disgusted noises coming from his brother and nephew. Eventually they parted and sat down with everyone.Â
As they started pulling out the food, Wei Wuxianâs eyes widened, âIs that...â he trailed off.
âMn.â
âBut how...â he turned to Jiang Cheng, âDid you?â
âNo,â he laughed, âI just gave him the recipe. Iâll admit, I wasnât going to at first, but when he told me why...â Jiang Cheng didnât finish.
Wei Wuxian immediately hugged his brother while his brother just tried to push him away.
âI donât know how good it will taste, but I followed the recipe,â Lan Wangji stated.
âIâm sure it will be great,â he said.
That afternoon was filled with lots of laughter and chatter. At one point, Jingyi and Sizhui had to stop LilâApple from trying to get into the food, but all in all it was a great day.
As night began to fall, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji headed back to the Jingshi. There, Wei Wuxian continued to pepper kisses all over his husbands face and thank him for everything.Â
Wei Wuxan could not picture a more perfect day then the one his husband arranged for him. Being surrounded by his family was great. His husband definitely spoiled him, but he wasnât complaining.
