Just look at how massive some of these alebrijes are compared to the skeletons. There’s even a man standing right next to the rabbit (behind the dragon), and nearby is a porcupine. We see both a rabbit and a porcupine later in the movie, but both are much smaller then. To the far left, there is even a giant insect alebrije (above the porcupine and blue striped gazelle/antelope). Just as Pepita can become a housecat at the end of the film, I like to theorize that some alebrijes can shrink and grow at will, which is actually made canon in a couple of RP’s I’ve participated in. 

There is no doubt in my mind that Bruno speaks from experience 💚

WOOOOOO!!! This just took me the better part of four entire days to make, and I am SO happy that it is finally done! 🥳 This comic was inspired by a recent Facebook memory (read below). At the end of Encanto, Pepa made it hail when she was happy, so I thought why not have hail when she laughs too? Makes sense, right? 🙂 My Facebook memory from March 15, 2021:  Don’t ask how I ended up knee-deep in a tumbleweed in a Sonic drive-thru… because I will tell you. My roommate and I stopped by Sonic on our way home from the store this afternoon. She had just placed her order and pulled forward when a large tumbleweed rolled in and blocked the drive-thru. I got out and tried to move it by hand, but it was too prickly, so then I tried kicking it. Emphasis on tried. Did I mention it was hailing at the time? Because it was hailing at the time.

A discussion on Discord led to the adorable thought of little Luisa carrying her favorite tío around like a rag doll. Bruno may have found it a bit awkward, but he never complained. He loves his sobrina too much to let her down. And apparently she loves him too much to let him down, too. Literally. 😄

Some uncles teach their nephews questionable things, but in this family, it’s the other way around!
