a part of muriel almost expected to be chastised for wandering into his shop — something they had learned to be accustomed to due to their vessel’s youthful appearance. they had forgotten in the early days that they could not simply go anywhere they wanted. not with this body, at least.

     “ ummmm, no not really, ” they admitted, letting out a nervous laugh as muriel took note of how he towered over them. their wide eyes beamed up at him briefly before glancing around the shop. “ this place is cool !! ”

       You wouldn’t chastise them / no, you weren’t your friend. ( you liked when people just came in. it drowned out the monotany when there wasn’t any customers. ) You had offered them a smile.

       “ That’s alright! “ You laughed, as you tilted your head. A hum came out as you gave a nod. “ I would hope so! I’m glad you think so, “ You’d finally stretch out, your back giving a soft crack. ( you were at the desk for a solid hour now, trying to rewrite all the appointments - your coworker had messy handwriting and you wanted to make it legible. ) 

     “ tattoo shop ?? ” they blinked, a brief wave of confusion flickering over their youthful features as ocean blue eyes scanned the room. they took note of the decorations on the wall as a small hue of soft pink appeared on muriel’s cheeks. technically, they were old enough. however, their vessel was not.

     they blinked yet again, attempting to compose themself before speaking. they had merely been wandering and they became drawn in by an aura similar ( but not quite the same !! ) to their own. they did not know who it belong to, but they knew it was somewhere in the shop. “ i — i’m sorry !! i was wandering and i sort of ended up here. ”

       Just like they caught onto your aura, you caught onto theirs. ( it was different from the kind you normally had here - from the humans, to your demon of a boss slash coworker, to your husband. it was closer to yours. closer to corrina’s. ) A tilt of your head as you finally pulled the pen from your lips. You weren’t surprised at all, and only instead offered a friendly grin.
