Today I turned 28 years young. 🎉 The past few years have been nothing short of crummy but I'm done crying over bad friendships and putting my energy into the wrong people. People always tell you to open up to your friends when you're battling with depression but what they don't talk about is what to do when the people you thought would be there for you decide you're not worth their time. And let me tell you it hurts a lot more. I've spent the past few years trying to identify my flaws and trying my best to grow into a better person and friend. I've lost a lot of friends in my 28 years, and I mean a lot, and it hurts a little more each time. But I now know who my support system is and they may be spread out around the state (or even Canada, shout out to @caressa_dawn) but at least now I know that I'm not alone and I'm surrounded by people who love me for me.
