As of today, I am performing a soft reset on this blog.
What this essentially means is that I will be dropping many of my threads, and being selective in replying to the ones I keep. This is a decision Iâve reached for a number of reasons â mostly because I have much less time now that I am back at college and running two other roleplay blogs in addition to this one. Tony is not a muse I want to drop and so this is the alternative to that.Â

hello hello !! first off -- i apologize for my absence lately, school has been pretty busy and my other two blogs have had my focus. iâm going to try to be here some too though, although iâm going to be switching from semi-selective to highly selective. as in, iâm going to be way more choosy when starting new threads or in replying to drafts.
please donât take this personally, everyone !! this is whatâs best for me right now, and i need to do it.

[ sorry for being absent these last few days !! iâve been getting my spock blog up and running as well as switching another rp blog from a sideblog to a main. iâm essentially making this post to say iâm going to be here a little less â between new blogs and school starting soon itâs just going to be a little too much if i continue as i have been.Â
iâll be cutting down the number of threads, becoming a little more selective with replies, that kind of thing. there are some threads here i love to death and really want to continue, so i definitely wonât be disappearing completely !!Â

âStrawberry milkshakes?â He asked, before he then processed that Tony was indeed asking him if he liked those. âOf course. My aunt makes killer ones. She even taught me how to make them myself for when sheâs out working late.â Ice cream? Was that what was being used? âI usually use frozen strawberries. You know, theyâre in the ice cream section at the grocery store.â When it came to ice cream, he really liked the Neopolitan flavor but only ate the chocolate and strawberry section.
Now that was something heâs never heard of. Personally he was indifferent to blueberries, but he was open minded enough to want to try it. Peter looked up from the menu and smirked, tilting his head to the side. âAre you planning on feeding me lots of food and then selling me to a cannibalistic old woman?â He teased, snickering from how many suggestions the man made. âI think Iâll have the strawberry milkshake and some pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I might still be hungry after that but I donât know what else to eat.â Everything just sounded so good, but he only looked at the dishes with the cheapest prices.
âThat way works too,â Tony says, dipping his head in a nod. âItâs just a matter of preference and style, I think.â With strawberry there are liberties you can take and the flavors will still come out excellent. âWe should make milkshakes for the team.â Tony suggests, only half teasing. âMake a day of it. Itâd be fun.â He smiles at the thought, enjoying them as a team all of their own, rather than just whatâs left of it.Â
Tonyâs smile turns into a smirk and he leans back. âYes. Thatâs exactly what Iâm doing. You see right through me, Mr. Parker.â Heâs still smiling as he picks up the menu again, flicking from the drinks to the actual food. âIâll get all that too -- if youâre still hungry after we can get another milkshake or something, as long as itâs not the muffins.â

â~ Â His lips stretched into a smile but didnât quite reach his eyes. They were lit with dolefulness and a hint of heartache. Bucky really did appreciate Tony trying to make things better but his heart still felt heavy as the constant dark cloud floating in the back of his mind. Part of him just couldnât seem to stop thinking about all that had happened. The anger, frustration and war that no one won. It was all still there and Bucky could not seem to stop thinking about it to save his life.
He wondered how long it was going to be like that. How long it would take until everyone was completely over it or if they would all just shove it in that part of the brain where you can just forget things until someone brings it up out of the blue. Or, could something like that even happen? He doubted it, things seemed like they would never be the same after the Sokovia Accords. With that, Bucky needed to constantly remind himself that it wasnât all his fault. There were other factors taken into consideration with what happened.
âThose were the good olâ days, Stark. I donât think Iâm capable of such devious shenanigans now.â A chuckle erupts from deep within his chest and he looks down. âI actually think Iâve become quite boring as of late. Thereâs nothing really for me to do.â
[ ICON ]
Tony shrugs, shaking his head. âI donât believe it for a second. You just need the right motivation, not to mention the right encouragement. Or non-encouragement. Tell me -- are you one of those guys who does something because he was told not to ?? You strike me as the Bucky, yes type, no offense.â Heâs trying to lighten the mood by some degree, but heâs not entirely sure how well itâs working. Thereâs still tension -- unspoken thoughts he knows theyâre both concealing and working through. Itâs only to be expected, he supposes: to even be here, talking to each other so casually is a major step for the both of them.
Honestly, though -- if there was only ease right away, after all that had happened, thatâs what would really worry him. There may be awkwardness as it is and he may feel like heâs walking out on a tightrope but -- he flies for a living. Tightropes are not a problem. ( Yes, heâs aware heâs taking the metephor a little far, but it works well enough for him. )Â
âReally ?? Thereâs no job openings for fugitive super soldiers ??â Letting out a laugh, Tonyâs quick to continue. âSorry. But seriously, they donât have you doing anything wherever you guys are taking refuge ?? I thought surely youâd be...I donât know, training or making plans or something like that.â
He chuckled quietly, fingertips stroking circles on the billionaireâs back. âIâm just a curious kid.â It sometimes got him into trouble, but hey, he liked learning new things every day. Sure he may be considered nosey at times but thatâs just how he is, always wanting to know things. But some of the scientists he worshiped warned that it wasnât good to know everything, so he tried to keep that in mind.
The spider was a little startled when Tony had asked him if /H E/ was okay; he didnât want to put the spotlight on himself, but he did trust him enough to share what had happened. âI think I was six when I moved in with May and Ben. I know they were CIA agents, and that they died in a plane crash.â He didnât know why they hid him or what they were running from, but it was one thing he was definitely wanting to find out. âI found out Hydra was responsible for the crash, but I just donât know why.â
So, it turns out they have even more in common than Tony had thought. Heâs frowning now, pensively considering what heâs been told. âI didnât know Hydra killed them,â he says at last, lifting his head to look at Peter. âWhen did you find out ??â Tony leans over, grabbing his tablet from the couch. Heâs not sure what he wants to look up -- or if there even is anything to look up or find. Let it not be said Hydra isnât talented at hiding their tracks: they hid for years inside SHIELD, after all.
Tony flicks over a few screens, brings up Peterâs Avengers file, closes it again, lowers his tablet. âIt sounds like Hydraâs taken too much from all of us.â Him, Peter, Bucky, Steve -- Natasha and Clint too, he would say. It seems like wherever they turn Hydra is there, ripping into them as if it could never be brought down.

icarus flew too close to the sun, but at least he flew
tony stark + quote for anonymous
She figured heâd avoid it, at least the big point of it. It was hard to hide the disappointment on her face. She knew how he was. He didnât admit those kind of things, hardly even to her. Even when he was in a relationship with Pepper, he hardly admitted it to anyone.
Jan gave a little smile. âWell yeah, I do. And of course I like spending time with you too. You make me happy.â
Tony returns the smile in full. âYou make me happy too.â His voice is a little quieter now, a little more sincerity tinging his tone. He means every word -- heâs always enjoyed his time spent with Jan, whatever the might be spending that time doing, but lately heâs realized just how much he likes her company. Sheâs got an approach to the world and to situations thatâs entirely unique and yet entirely familiar at the same time, and Tony values every moment spent with her, both good and bad.
On an impulse he leans in, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. The next moment heâs pulled back, adjusting his jacket and tie in the reflection in the large windows. âSo -- when are we leaving for this baking fundraiser ?? I only just learned about it a little while ago, remember, I donât have all the details.â
Take a Breath and Count to 10 (closed)
âIâm not trying to own what he did. I wouldnât disrespect him like that,â Bucky is quick to clarify. He sighs, wishing he had a firmer grasp on what it is he wants, aside from this nebulous worry that Steveâs alone on his account. Itâd be easier, maybe, if he were asking for something for himself, but heâs not. Heâd never insinuate himself into the life his best friend has cobbled together, even if being solitary is difficult and lonely.Â
âIâm trying to say, I guess⌠that I hoped I could persuade you to at least talk to him. What he did⌠it wasnât right, but it didnât come from a malicious place. I donât think Steve Rogers has a malicious bone in his body.â Buckyâs jaw works as he watches Tony pace. Heâs ashamed of everything heâs done in the last few decades, but most acutely for the fate Tonyâs parents suffered at his hand. âItâs just⌠Steve shouldnât be on his own. Heâs had more than his fair share of that, and now he is again because he always chooses⌠chooses me. Even when Iâm not worth the sacrifice. The only way I know how to repay him for that is to give him back.â
It feels disjointed and raw. For someone so imposing, Bucky looks very small, sitting there with his hunched shoulders and ruined stub of an arm.Â
Tony pauses, both in his analysis of the situation and his pacing. It makes sense, what Bucky is saying. From his time on a team with Steve, Tony has seen how he tends to distance himself in some regards and give too much in others. Most of the Avengers are like that to some degree, but as the unofficial/official leader, it seems Steve did even more than most. And itâs true, Tony does want to work towards reconciliation. Not just for his own peace of mind -- ever since the team split the various governments of the world have, if anything, increased their efforts for oversight. The world still needs the Avengers -- all of them.
âDonât sell yourself short,â Tony says, circling the couch to settle at the end opposite from Bucky. âYou were obviously worth the sacrifice to him.â He doesnât let any of his own emotions regarding the events break through there: however he feels about it or the repercussions it had, there is no denying the simple fact that Bucky Barnes means the world to Steve Rogers.Â
He leans back, crossing his arms. âIâm willing to talk to him,â he says. âBut I donât know how willing heâd be to talk to me. For all accounts and purposes heâs currently a fugitive -- if I were in that position I wouldnât readily want to talk to me.â
âYes. Most likely.â Steve answered anyway with a shrug seeing as he didnât think it would make a blind bit of difference if their fellow diners overheard. Theyâd gotten a few looks and heâd overheard snippets of conversation. The usual stuff, nothing he gave a second thought. None of them exactly hid their identities and it was normal that they got recognised. If anyone heard that the Averngers were heading into battle next week it would hardly be something people were going to be shocked about.
âI will save details for later though,â he said, fingers playing with his paper napkin, tearing at the soft sides for something to do. The others picked up talking and he was happy to let them a while, not one for over talking most of the time. He looked out of the window a moment, drifting in and out of what was being said and interjecting at points. He thought how this was actually kinda okay, even when they were moaning about more crap being thrown their way. It was a sense of belonging and purpose. He smiled as Barton made another grumpy comment. Yeah, he missed the Howlies something chronic at times, but this wasnât so bad at all.
Tony nods once. âGot it, Cap.â Eager though he may be to learn exactly what theyâll be doing -- and why it needs doing -- he understands that they canât exactly be discussing battle plans and objectives in the middle of a diner. He sips at his coffee instead, making casual conversation with the other Avengers. It doesnât escape his notice that Steve is quiet today, more so than usual, but although he glances at him now and again he doesnât make any comment about it. If somethingâs going on that he and the other Avengers need to know, theyâll be told.Â
Itâs nearly half an hour later when they begin to pile out of the booth, gathering mugs and napkins to clear off the table. âHey -- you ready, Steve ??â Tony asks, picking up Steveâs cup to bring it up to the tray to return dishes. âOnce we get back we can have that briefing weâre all so excited about.â
iâm sorry tony ( for @darktonystark )

Elena couldnât help but smile, looking down and tucking hair behind her ear. She stared at the menu, trying not to seem the bit bashful that she had become with him.
Who wouldnât? Dining with Tony Stark himself? No one ever got that opportunity. No one! She stared at the menu, until she managed to find something she liked. âSo, do you always invent new things when youâre, you know, not being iron man?â She asked. Probably a stupid question. But she had to try.
Tony shrugs. âSometimes. I mean -- even when Iâm not actively wearing the armor it always needs tune ups and repairs, that kind of thing. And Iâm basically the tech guy for the rest of the team too, so I do upgrades and repairs for them as well.â Thatâs not to say he doesnât invent things too -- heâs just not the only mind at work there, what with an entire company behind him now.Â
âMost of the actual inventing is done by the scientists and engineers at SI. Thereâs so many R&D labs up and running now, and not just here in New York. Here, California, and internationally -- thereâs so much inventing going on, they donât need me around for most of it.â Sure, he pitches in every now and then, and he always likes dropping by the labs when he can, but lately his focus has been on the Avengers and SHIELD. Tonyâs not entirely sure how he feels about this -- sure, he knows the two are doing truly excellent things, but so is Stark Industries. He may divide his time between them, but more often than not heâs given priority to SHIELD.
âThatâs odd. Kaiba Corp is one of the biggest companies in Japan. Nearly all the hologram tech for Duel Monsters is made by Kaiba.â It was much easier to express some of this confusion when some of it was sincere. For someone to come to Domino City and not be aware of KC was nigh unthinkable. âYou have that thing on your hand. It wouldnât have surprised me if it were some sort of duel disk.â
He had purposely not addressed anything else the man had said yet. Who was this guy to think that anything to do with the shadows would fall under his jurisdiction? It was laughable, even. If this guy was after the items or something, then it would really be the other way around.
âDirections? Danger? I did something?â He scratched his cheek in a nervous gesture he didnât have to fake. âIâm not sure I know what youâre talking about, sir. Was it the hologram? Iâm sorry if that scared you, I just wanted to get those guys away from me.â
His act was faked, and he had nothing on him to make a hologram.
Tonyâs frown deepens now, and suddenly heâs second guessing himself. âWell -- one of us is lost. Last I checked I was in New York, not anywhere in Japan.â As to if heâs still there, though -- well, heâs been through enough inexpiable happenings that at this point he wouldnât be overly surprised to find heâd been...transported or something of that nature. On guard, cautious, and looking for answers though ?? Absolutely. He raises his gauntlet just a bit, wiggling his armored fingers in something like a wave. âNah, repulsor glove. Probably as dangerous as a duel disk, though -- whatever that is.â
He shakes his head, lowering his weapon now. This is a very odd encounter to say the least, but the man doesnât appear threatening -- right now, anyway. âIt was the hologram I noticed, yeah. You donât see too many of those around, you know. Not exactly standard tech.â Well, it was for him, but he wasnât anyone -- and neither was his tech.Â
âSo -- you say this is Japan ??â Tony canât really ascertain if thatâs the truth or not: this alley looks like the type youâd find in literally any city of the world. Â
