So there’s this website I found called Mormon and gay, where they have videos about Gay Mormons still being in the faith, and have an FAQ that asks stuff like can I pray my attraction away? And why they say “same-sex attraction” instead of gay.

It’s honestly a pretty sad website, but the leaders like to say yup we love LGBT people see our website???

So I’m going to make a website called exmormon and gay to parody off it and give actually good advice.

All 22 women in the Senate are calling for their fellow lawmakers to do something about sexual harassment.

In a letter written to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the 17 Democrats and five Republican senators ask that their chamber take up legislation to overhaul the sexual harassment complaint process on Capitol Hill.

“Survivors who have bravely come forward to share their stories have brought to light just how widespread harassment and discrimination continue to be throughout Capitol Hill,” they wrote. “No longer can we allow the perpetrators of these crimes to hide behind a 23-year-old law.”

That 23-year-old law is the Congressional Accountability Act, passed in 1995, and it dictates how harassment claims are currently handled on Capitol Hill. Members of both parties have criticized that system as outdated, and the House has already passed legislation that would make significant changes to it.

“The process that somebody has to go through to file a claim is really kind of stacked against the claimant,” Republican Rep. Bradley Byrne of Alabama — himself a former employment law lawyer — told NPR in January.

If there is an all-powerful watchful being, all I can think of is his cruelty. And if there were some sick ass aliens 10,000 years ago who taught apes to make fire, well, they’re obviously dead by now. I’m really just apathetic about (and probably too traumatized to delve into) the subject.

So, I’m not going to go railing against anyone for having harmless beliefs that help them have some peace of mind.

The year is 1995, congress member Bernie Sanders stands in opposition of a homophobic statement said by Duke Cunningham. Cunningham derisively refers to “homos in the military” to support his argument while (strangely) discussing the Clean Water Act. Sanders, having none of it, quickly rises to the defense of thousands of men and women everywhere. Sanders ire is such that he repeatedly disrespects the Chairman by speaking over him in order to say his piece. [Video Source]

What does this say for Sanders? Well, that’s for you to decide. But to me, it says that for 20+ years strong he has shown his public support for LGBT+ persons everywhere, even in the face of ridicule and disrespect. Unlike some, Sanders has always been vocal about his beliefs concerning the LGBT+ community, and he has always held them. Key word always, and not just when doing so might garner him support for his campaigns. 

BONUS:

Like, I was a child, a little kid, when I was taught that loving someone of the same sex was temptation from the devil, and that people with coloured skin were descendants of white sinners cursed by God to be “marked” on the outside for their evil.
