prompto is very, very enthusiastic about them, if that wasn’t obvious enough! his hugs are usually on the playful side, accompanied with noogies, cheek pinches, etc etc. receiving hugs would be his ultimate dream, but he’s almost always the instigator and that’s good enough for him.

“ahem! ‘love’… truly a complex emotion in all of its intricacies. who are we, as naive as we are, to say how far such a thing can go? alas, alas…” he adjusts an imaginary pair of glasses, speaking in a certain accent belonging to a certain roommate.

silly impression aside, he does believe in true love! he’s read fanfiction. he knows what’s up.

“whaaat… haha… me? quick at giving my heart away? t-totally ridiculous!”

AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection? 

“never really thought about it before, i just kinda do it… oh, i guess i joke around a lot and stuff! and i’m pretty touchy, but you already knew that.” now there’s a severe understatement. “pretty touchy” doesn’t exactly cover how often his friends have to deal with him getting all up in their bubbles! he’d cut down on it if anyone seemed uncomfortable, but that’s basically his most obvious form of affection.

one specific thing he does for people he cares about is put 100x more effort into making sure they’re included in photos. taking a shot of a tasty dish? gotta find the right angle so [insert buddy here] can be in it too! it sounds simple, sure, but it’s a big deal considering how important photography is to him. if it’s good enough, he’ll even make it his wallpaper until the next best one comes along!

“psh, isn’t it obvious? i’m stealing hearts left and right, zags!”

“ugh, who am i kidding? i’m a flirting failure….”

yeahhh, he’s not great at it. he tends to do this thing where he says something flirty (if he even gets that far), then plays it off as a joke two seconds later to avoid rejection. he looks at gladio’s ability to successfully woo anyone and goes into a blind rage.

but! he’s often unintentionally cheeky with all his closer friends… and those happen to be his best lines, too… go figure.

“i’m an artiste, fine details are what i do best!” he crosses his arms with a triumphant nod, “let’s just say i’d give good ol’ santa a run for his money.”

and it’s true! he’s got a great eye for noticing when people spend just a smidgen longer looking at certain products in stores. aside from that, he’s also a pro at giving gifts that are meaningful and take a bit more thought! scrapbooks, mixtapes, and bouquets (now that he works at a flower shop) are all things to expect from this dork at b-day celebrations. or just whenever he’s feeling mushy.

LOVE.   who does your muse love?

“i got lots of love to give! there’s noct, iggy, gladio… and that’s about it, actually. huh. do chocobos count?” despite his rep for being the token affectionate friend, those are the only three people he’d actually put on that lofty pedestal right now. it’s not strictly platonic/familial/romantic either, the kind of love he feels for them isn’t something he’d be able to easily put into words. he just wants to be with them 5ever, however that might look :(

“it’s easy peasy! i used to say it to my rental chocobo like fifty times a day.”

in other words, it’s easy peasy if he’s saying it casually or jokingly! it’s a whole other story once you add some actual spice to it. putting his true feelings out in the open like that and risking regret? very scary, nty!

ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?

sighhh, “man, i wish! whenever i try to sound all cool and suave i end up just looking like a dweeb! it’s totally unfair…”

ignoring his obvious problems with trying too hard, he can actually be surprisingly charming when he’s speaking from the heart. it still has his dorky flair, obvi, but he’s a thoughtful, sweet guy and it shows!

oh no.... if only a strong, cool person would show up and help prompto fight giant sea monsters to avoid imminent death... :pleading: 

if that doesn’t make it obvious enough, this is a plotting call for pt 2 of the event!!! fights can go in a lot of dif ways so only like this post if you’re okay with me hitting u up to discuss first!! prompto’s hardly a stranger to killing monsters anymore so he could b a good ally! ;)

He makes it so easy to tease, she wonders if perhaps it’s on purpose. Maybe his pure-hearted, soft boy personality was all simply an act? That would make much more sense to her than the idea that anyone could be so genuinely sweet, but perhaps that was just her pesky cynicism. It’s certainly appealing regardless, and she very nearly opens her mouth to point out the obvious color spreading across his cheeks before he’s talking again— a mile a minute.

Jesus, is this what SHE sounds like when she gets worked up? He’s probably more endearing than her, though, that’s for sure.

❝ Alright, alright, slow down. It’s hard for me to keep up in my old age! ❞ She jokes, a smile pulling at trembling lips as she trudges through the soft mounds and reaches out to take his hand. It’s less of a shake and more of a desperate clutch, and she uses it as leverage to complete her trek and make it into the clearing he’d begun his sculpting in. With a huff, she stomps each boot into the ground, knocking off built-up snow before gaze shifts from the unsightly pile to his face.

❝ Ideas? Are you sure you need them? I mean… look at it! So great to finally formally meet the artist of this… uh… magnificent piece. It’s really… RUSTIC. A classic. ❞ She slaps the top of the mound for good measure, wearing the biggest shit-eating grin one could imagine. ❝ Nicolette, by the way. I’m a big fan of your work. ❞

[ 🎄 ] oh no... prompto’s greatest weakness: teasing! it’s quite possibly (i.e. completely) the easiest way to get his insides to feel warm and soft like mash potato. he watches her stomp about with a dopey grin on his face, no sign of his blush leaving anytime soon.

“heh, i’m starting to regret makin’ you my partner, nicolette!” he quips back, tapping the snow pile with the toe of his boot, “if you think this is good, wait until we actually do something with it.”

with proper intros out of the way, it’s back to business... he doesn’t know nicolette’s level of expertise, but he hasn’t done much sculpting aside from goofy snowmen and half-decent igloos when he was a kid. what’d be the best way to go about it... probably something simple, yet charming, right?

suddenly, he gives his fingers a snap! he’s got it! “okay, okay, hear me out! we make a whole bunch of penguins, right? but we set ‘em up so it looks like they’re talking to each other, like a club! we could call it ‘club penguin’ by prompto argentum and nicolette last-name!”

[ ★ ] “okay, okay, assuming this is 100% hypothetical and no randos out there are actually planning to kill me–” he scans the area real quick (just in case) before breaking into a grin “–this question’s pretty cool! makes me feel like a video game character.”

“hmm… my common would prob just be a potion or somethin’. i used to carry those around with me all the time since i’m kinda squishy. ‘sides, gotta start off with a boring item to make the others seem cooler, right?”

he tip-taps at his chin. something “uncommon”… he’s assuming it should be more meaningful too. “i think i’d go with my friendship band that matches gladio and iggy’s. it makes it easier for us to sync up when we fight, somehow… i’m more into the whole ‘yay matchies’ part of it, though.”

In Zagiha’s world, gas power wasn’t invented yet. For transportation, people either used magic or animals to pull their vehicles. The God’s approximation of how to drive the snowmobile was an educated guess…

… But damn, did he just flunk the test.

Zagiha clung to the machine for dear life, ignoring Prompto’s calls as he debated whether to scream, cry, or both. In this moment of time, he wished he wasn’t immortal so the sweet embrace of death would end his suffering, but that wasn’t happening, and here he was, on a snowmobile, hurtling down a mountain, rapidly gaining speed. But was he petty enough to not admit his mistake and give his so-called “rival” the satisfaction of knowing he screwed up? Yes. He lived on spite and spite alone. “It’s a race,” he retorted, his unique speech pattern the same as usual but his voice racked with terror, “why would I slow dow–?!” A tree came up, and he swerved, missing it at the last second. And he avoided disaster, which was great…

Until he drove straight off a cliff.

[ 🎄 ] oh crap oh crap oh crap--! prompto had no idea what he was expecting, but that was definitely not it! what if he broke a bone... or worse!? he had to do something, right?

aw hell, was he glad none of his friends were there to see him, ‘cause he was about to do one of the dumbest things ever. that’s right, folks, he jumped that cliff right behind his opponent, praying to the astrals that it wouldn’t be as big of a drop as the more competent part of his brain was envisioning... 

...and miraculously, it wasn’t! the padding from the snow definitely helped soften the landing, too! small graces aside, though, his entire body still felt like it just got ran over by a semi-truck. how many snowmobile accidents did he have to get himself into before he learned!?

A weak smile was given ah how she wished her mother could meet Prompto, she was sure that he’d be adored- maybe not so much by Seteth but that was far from the point right now. While Prompto’s pun was one she’d definitely laugh at normally- right now? She couldn’t bring herself to do that. Her insides twisted, she felt awful. How could she tell Prompto without making him feel uncomfortable or bad? He was not to know. She also was far from upset- just used to Seteth informing people about it rather than herself. A hand went to Prompto’s shoulder, “I am sorry but I doubt that will be possible without my brother being here, he can cook most like her… I suppose he felt the need to cook like her for my sake… we lost her from fighting in a war a very very long time ago.” 

She squeezed at Prompto’s shoulder, “I’d love to take you to see her…she is on a beach, it’s where I grew up. It’s a place that holds many memories for me… I’d really like to share that with you.” She wasn’t sure why- he was someone she’d just meet but it felt like a lifetime in such a small amount of time, was that just Prompto? Or her grabbing onto someone being nice to her? She’d like to think the first. Much like with Claude it felt easy being herself, being able to just say anything without a blink of judgement. “If I could cook well I’d try and make something but I am told my cooking is not something that should be eaten.” Her cheeks puffing out- she was still rather rattled about such comments from her own brother of all people!! Ah- he was right wasn’t he? That seemed to be the amazing thing about photographs they could hold memories forever and she was truly thankful about that. Maybe it was selfish of her to not want just that one memory but more…not that she’d say that she’d most likely seem mad, wouldn’t she? Thinking such things oh so soon. 

[ ★ ] there prompto went again, putting his foot in his mouth! there’s no way he could’ve known about flayn losing her mom -- and it seemed like she didn’t mind -- but it still made him feel like a pile of grade-A garbage. maybe her nonchalant words were just some sorta act and she was actually dealing with all the resurfaced memories right now!? maybe once their little date(?) was over she’d never even contact him again!

or maybe she--! his thoughts ended there as the small squeeze on his shoulder anchored him back to reality... or as close to reality as he could be after her offer, at least. it was pretty embarrassing, actually, how easily she suggested something like that. he could only offer a weak smile of his own in return, not entirely sure if going back to her world would even be possible. this whole world-hopping thing was still uncharted territory for him, after all...

     He’s not a stranger to random fights, considering he’s gotten himself involved in a lot of them (whether he started them or not is a question for another day) but it doesn’t mean he has to like them. Okay that’s a lie, Yuri likes fighting when he can but even then he’s not the type to pick fights for no reason, he just likes seeing how far he can push people.

     Though right now he just wishes he could be at the bar in peace, rather than hearing what sounds like a fight ready to break out. Can’t people just understand accidents happen?

     Apparently not because Yuri looks over to where he hears someone yell for help, some big guy cracking his knuckles and looking ready to fight. Oh he’ll fight if he has to but he should probably try to help the other man that looks rather panicked.

     So it’s with a sigh he gets up and walks over to where the commotion is, face twisted into a glare. “Alright we can do this either the easy way or the hard way. It’s your choice.” He says the big guy, looking over to the younger man as if to show that he’s here to help if things get ugly because they just might with how this is going.

[ ★ ] when prompto called out for help, he wasn’t actually expecting anyone to swoop in to his rescue. it’s a bar, right? people come here to chillax and crack cold ones with the boys! or at least that’s what he assumes... bars aren’t his usual scene.

so consider him happily surprised when a tough-looking guy decides to step into the fray -- not to mention with a really badass one-liner! maybe he isn’t going to get socked in the face after all!

“h-hell yeah! what he said!” prompto taunts, keeping a safe distance between himself and the angry patron (making sure to stand behind his hero too, just in case). and as one could guess, their intimidation technique only seems to escalate the situation, considering the man decides to friggin’ charge straight at them, fists raised!
